LAURA MARGARET DULUDE

ALBURG -- Mrs. Laura Margaret Dulude, 90, who had been a longtime resident of the Alburg community, passed away very peacefully Wednesday afternoon, Oct. 9, 2002, in Redstone Villa in St. Albans City with family by her side.

Laura was born in Noyan, Quebec Canada, Feb. 4, 1912, the daughter of the late Ernest and Lumena (Trahan) St. John's.

Friends and family remember Laura as a dedicated mother, homemaker, seamstress, cook, gardener and most of all as the feisty character she always was.

Laura is survived by her sisters, Jennette Belisle of Terryville, Conn. and Theresa Boni of the Boston, Mass. area; four children, Aline LaBombard of Bristol, Conn., John Paul (Joe) Dulude and his wife Brenda of Alburg, Paulette Summer and her husband Dave of Alburg and Theresa (Teri) Dulude of Beacon, N.Y.

She also leaves nine grandchildren, Lee Ann Tymanski, Diane Lombardi, Rodney LaBombard, Peggy Levesque, Steven Dulude, Lisa Mulcahy, Brad Barker, Shane Wheeler and Lesa Little; 17 great-grandchildren, Alycia Pratico, Frank Tymanski Jr., Lisa Machuga, Scott Machuga, Stephanie Coleman, Tiffany LaBombard, David Levesque, Katlyn Levesque, Chad Park, Dale Park, Shannon Dulude, Sarah Dulude, Shawn Dulude, Sarah Mulcahy, Colleen Mulcahy, Anna Little and Amanda (AJ) Little; and eight great-great-grandchildren, Destyni Machuga, Jocelyn Machuga, Xavier Machuga, Kylah Machuga, Ashley Lockerby, Damien Bigelow Nicholas Pratico and Jacob Park as well as many nieces and nephews.

Laura was predeceased by her husband Alva at age 64 in June of 1973; son, Claude Dulude age 36 in July of 1974; son, Alva Dulude Jr. age 59 in April of 1996; and a granddaughter, Michelle Wishenbart age 16 in April of 1992.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, Oct. 12, 2002, at 12 noon from the Kidder Memorial Home, 89 Grand Avenue, Swanton. Father Maurice U. Boucher, SSE director of St. Anne's Shrine in Isle La Motte will officiate. Interment will take place later in St. Amadeus Cemetery in Alburg. Friends may call at the funeral home on Saturday morning from 10 a.m. until the hour of the funeral.

Gifts in Laura's memory may be made to the, Alburg Volunteer Fire Department and Rescue, Inc., P.O. Box 223, Alburg Vt., 05440.

TOWNYA L. ALLEN

BAKERSFIELD -- Townya L. Allen, age 31, died unexpectedly Tuesday morning, Oct. 8, 2002, at the Northwestern Medical Center in St. Albans as the result of an automobile accident. She was born Oct. 30, 1970, in St. Albans, the daughter of Roy Allen Jr. and Sheila (Thomas) Allen.

Townya was a life long resident of Bakersfield and was a 1988 graduate of Enosburg Falls High School. She served four years in the U.S. Army and also had served with the Vermont National Guard in Enosburg Falls. She was a graduate of the Fanny Allen School of Nursing and was employed for the past year at Haven Health Care in St. Albans, and loved all of her patients and co-workers. She was a former employee of Burlington Health and Rehab.

Townya loved the outdoors and writing poetry. Most of all, she loved and cherished her children.

She is survived by her three children, Maria, William and Brandon Gleason, all of Bakersfield; her parents, Roy Allen Jr and Sheila (Thomas) Allen of Bakersfield; one brother, Roy Allen III and his wife Sarah of Vacaville, Calif.; one sister, Tammy McCoy and her husband Ken of New York Mills, N.Y.; paternal grandparents, Roy Allen Sr. and Rose (Gillespie) Allen of Bakersfield; maternal grandmother, Catherine Thomas of Essex Junction; several aunts, uncles and cousins. She was predeceased by her maternal grandfather, Cedric Thomas.

Funeral services will be held Friday morning at 11 at the Bakersfield Methodist Church with Reverend Lyle Willey officiating. Interment will follow in the Maple Grove Cemetery in Bakersfield.

Visiting hours will be held today, Thursday, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the Spears Funeral Home, 96 Dickinson Ave., Enosburg Falls.

KENNETH R. LaBOUNTY

FAIRFIELD -- Kenneth R. LaBounty, age 63, died Tuesday evening, Oct. 8, 2002, at his home following a heart attack. He was born in St. Albans Dec. 25, 1938, son of the late Ralph A. and Theodora M. (Pion) LaBounty.

He graduated from Bellows Free Academy in 1957 and joined the United States Air Force. Following his discharge from military service, he was employed for 28 years at I.B.M. in Essex. Ken was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting and fishing and was a member of the National Rifle Association.

In 1993, he married Joyce A. Richard. Besides Joyce, he is survived by his sons, Kenneth "Michael" and his wife Sandy LaBounty, Kevin and his wife Kathy LaBounty, all of Fairfield. Also, by his six grandchildren, Michael, Matthew, Melissa, Jessica, Eric and Randy; step-children, Kim and Michael Moodie of Indian Orchard, Mass., Tim Hooks of Burlington; sister, Theodora Beyor of Enosburg; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Friday at 2 p.m. in the Brady & Levesque Chapel. Friends may call at the Funeral Home, 86 South Main St., St. Albans, from 7-9 this evening, Thursday. Interment will be in the LaBounty family lot in St. Patrick's Cemetery in Fairfield.

Arrangements are entrusted to the Brady & Levesque Funeral Home.

MOTHER ANASTASIA NELSON

RICHFORD -- Mother Anastasia Nelson, also known as Joy Elizabeth Nelson, died Tuesday, Oct. 8, 2002, at Northwestern Medical Center in St. Albans of ovarian cancer.

Born in Austin, Texas in 1949, and graduated from the College of Wooster in Ohio in 1971, she eventually made her home in Burlington for 25 years. During this time, she formed many friendships and engaged in a variety of interests and activities ranging from dance and running a small bookkeeping business, to active involvement in Christ Church, Presbyterian.

In 1984, having decided to devote her life more completely to God, Joy embarked on a spiritual journey that let her to the Eastern Orthodox Christian Church. She was tonsured a monastic with the name Anastasia in 1991, and has been living since 2000 in a religious community in Richford.

Mother Anastasia is survived by her monastic brothers, Father Theophil, Father Lazarus and Father Joseph at St. Nectarios Monastery; and her monastic sister, Mother Joanna at the Monastery of the Most Holy Mother of God, Joy of All Who Sorrow in Richford; by her parents, Ellis and Nancy Nelson of Austin, Texas; her brother, Ellis Nelson and his family of Cary, N.C.; and her sister, Karin McAnlis and her family of Swarthmore, Penn.

The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 12, at the First Methodist Church, River Street, Richford. Burial will follow at All Saints' Cemetery on Route 105, south of Richford. Visiting hours will be private and held at the convenience of the family.

We ask your prayers for her immortal soul, and suggest that in lieu of flowers, offerings be made to the poor in her behalf.

Spears Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

LEO RAYMOND LONGLEY

COLCHESTER -- Leo Raymond Longley, 78, a longtime resident of Colchester, died Saturday, Oct. 5, 2002, at Fletcher Allen Health Care in Burlington after a short illness.

Leo was born in Jay Peak, on Oct. 28, 1923, the son of the late Raymond and Mary (Mayhew) Longley. He was married in 1960 at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Colchester to Grace (Cassidy) Longley who predeceased him Jan. 16, 2002.

Leo was employed for many years with Const. & Gen. Lab, Local Union #522 and retired after 18 years of employment with Vermont District 5 State Highway Dept.

He enjoyed fishing and camping and was a member of the Camping Club Wilderness 69.

Leo is survived by his brothers and sisters, Ralph Longley and Olive of Berkshire, Theresa Ladieu and Norman of Pensacola, Fla., Phyllis Rivers of St. Albans, Richard Longley and Elaine of Berkshire, Roger Longley and Shirley of St. Albans, and Robert Longley and Anita of Vernon; several nieces and nephews; a step-son, Arnold King and Deanna of Winooski; a step-granddaughter, Cherie Cyr and Fred of Burlington; and a step-niece Rebecca Bromley of Essex.

He was predeceased by his sister Cecile Sweetser.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday, Oct. 9, 2002, at 10 a.m. at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Colchester. Interment will follow in St. John the Baptist Cemetery in Enosburg Falls.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to American Lung Association of Vermont, 30 Farrell St., South Burlington, Vt. 05403.

Visiting hours will be today (Tuesday), Oct. 8, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the LaVigne Funeral Home, 132 Main St., Winooski.

MICHAEL G. BOUDREAU

SHELDON ญญ Michael G. Boudreau, 53, died at his home here on Oct. 5, 2002, following a heart attack.

He was born in St. Albans on Aug. 6, 1949, a son of Gilles and Hortense (Desorcie) Boudreau. Michael graduated from the University of Vermont, Class of 1972, with a degree in Civil Engineering.

He was employed for the New Hampshire Highway Department for more than nine years and for the past 20 years has been director of Agricultural Engineering Services for UVM. He was a member of the American Society of Civil Engineers.

Michael was kind-hearted to everyone. He enjoyed fishing, hiking, traveling, camping and caring for his family. He spent his leisure time in vegetable gardens. For 13 years, he coached girls softball teams. He was a generous and dedicated husband, father and friend.

On July 1, 1972, Michael married the love of his life, Rachel Choiniere. Besides his wife, Rachel, he is survived by his parents, of East Highgate; his daughter and her fiance (to be married Oct. 19), Emily Boudreau and Darren Avery, of Auburne, Maine; his two brothers and their wives, David and Elizabeth Boudreau, of East Berkshire, and Joseph and Linda Boudreau of St. Albans; three sisters and their husbands, Maria Burdick, of Essex Junction, Sheila and John LaMoy, of Georgia, and Jean and Greg Simard, of West Swanton; Rachel's brothers and sisters and their spouses, Florence and Ralph Dexter, Allen Choiniere, Normand and Nancy Choiniere, all of St. Albans, Marie and John Trevithick, of Shelburne, Mark Choiniere, of Johnson, Leonie Nadeau, of Essex; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his son, Brian Boudreau, on Dec. 26, 1998, and his brother, John Boudreau, his father-in-law, Wilfred and mother-in-law Emilienne Choiniere, and his sister-in-law, Pauline Comin.

Funeral services are at 2 p.m. Thursday at the graveside in St. Louis Cemetery, Lamkin Street, Highgate Center. Michael's cousin, Father Marcel Rainville, SSE, will officiate. Friends may call at Brady & Levesque Funeral Home, 86 South Main St., St. Albans, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday. Interment will be next to his son, Brian, in the family lot in St. Louis Cemetery.

Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider a donation to the St. Albans Recreation Department, c/o Mr. Michael Boulerice, 100 North Main St., St. Albans, Vt. 05478. Arrangements are entrusted to Allen Choiniere.

FLORIS EVA MIREAULT

NORTH HERO/SOUTH BURLINGTON -- Floris Eva Mireault, 93, died Saturday, Oct. 5, 2002, at Birchwood Health Care in Burlington, following a long illness. Floris was born on May 9, 1909, in North Hero, the daughter of Hobart and Mary (Watson) Knight.

Floris was a lifelong North Hero resident and a member of the North Hero Methodist Church. She was married to Herman Dubuque in 1933, who predeceased her in 1952. She later married George Mireault on Sept. 15, 1962, who died in 1997.

Mrs. Mireault is survived by her son, Donald Dubuque and his wife Pauline of North Hero; her step-daughters, Jean Stryker in Delores, Colo. and Claire Lautenschlager and her husband Melvin of Rio Rancho, New Mexico; by her grandchildren, Jim Dubuque and his wife Carol of North Hero, Dennis Dubuque and his wife Paula of Milton, and Marilee Silva and her husband Eric of Riverside, R.I.; and by many great-grandchildren, step grandchildren, step great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, Oct. 8, at 11 a.m. in the Minor Funeral Home in Milton. Burial will be in the Mireault family lot in the Hyde Cemetery in North Hero.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Floris' memory to your favorite charity.

Visiting hours will be held Tuesday morning from 9:30 until the hour of the funeral in the Minor Funeral Home, located at 237 Route 7 South, in Milton.

ANDREW JACKSON SOULE JR.

CHARLESTOWN, N.H. -- Andrew Jackson Soule Jr., 82 of East Street in Charlestown, N.H., died Sunday morning, Oct. 6, 2002, at the Springfield Hospital. He was born in Sheldon, Vt. on May 17, 1920, the son of Andrew J. and Teresa (Riley) Soule and had resided in Charlestown most of his life.

He graduated from Enosburg Falls High School, attended one year at Norwich University, before graduating with a B.A. Degree in English from the University of Vermont. He also received his M.A. Degree in English from the University of Vermont. In addition, he participated in a variety of summer programs taking summer classes at Salem State Teachers in Salem, Mass., Keene State College and the University of New Hampshire. He was a veteran of World War II, having served in the Army-Air Force.

Mr. Soule had a long career as an English teacher and chairperson, starting in Vergennes High School in 1951, at Stevens High School in Claremont in 1952, Columbia High School in South Orange, N.J. in 1955, Topsfield High School in Topsfield, Mass. in 1956, Educational Services Inc. in Watertown, Mass. (connected with MIT) in 1959, Danvers Jr. and Sr. High Schools in Danvers, Mass. in 1960, Ayer Jr. and Sr. High Schools in Ayer, Mass. in 1963, and Springfield Jr. and Sr. High Schools in Springfield, Vt. from 1966 until he retired from teaching in 1983. In retirement, he was employed by the Mortenson Real Estate Agency in Charlestown.

He was a member of the Vermont Retired Teachers Association.

He was the widower of Virgina H. (Hamel) Soule, whom he married on June 14, 1952, and she died April 11, 2002.

The surviving family includes three brothers, Horace H. Soule of Sheldon, twin brother, Arthur Soule of Montgomery Center, and Max Soule of Enosburg Falls; one sister, Harriet Armstrong of St. Albans; and nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was predeceased by two sisters, Ruth Benoit and Laura Crane.

A memorial service for Andrew J. and Victoria Soule will be held Sunday, Oct. 13, at 11 a.m. at Grace Episcopal Church in Sheldon

The Stringer Funeral Home and Crematorium in Charlestown, N.H., is in charge of arrangements.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that donations be made in his memory to the Charlestown Ambulance Service, P.O. Box 369, Charlestown, N.H., 03603.
