FERN ALICE (MACEY) FEELEY

HIGHGATE CENTER -- Fern Alice (Macey) Feeley, 83, of Canada Street in Highgate Center died in her sleep at home on, July 4, 2002.

Mrs. Feeley was born in Abbotts Corner, Quebec Canada, July 13, 1918, the daughter of the late Claude and Edith (Leach) Macey.

Mrs. Feeley is survived by two sons and a daughter-in-law, Wayne Andrew and his wife, Barbara, of Wilsboro, N.Y. and Edward Brown Feeley of Daytona, Fla.; six grandsons, Scott, David, Peter, Dwayne, James and Steven; 15 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Beverley (Macey) Quimby and her husband, Richard, of Skaneateles, New York, Shirley Macey of Montpelier and a sister-in-law, Ethel Macey of Rocky River, Ohio.

She was predeceased by her parents; her husband Lyman Feeley in 1975; and a brother Keith.

She enjoyed her privacy, feeding a multitude of birds and doing crossword puzzles.

A Service of Death and Resurrection celebrating Fern's life will be held on Friday, July 12, 2002, at 2 p.m. from the Highgate United Methodist Church. The pastor, the Reverend Marcheta Townsend will officiate. Friends may call at the Kidder Memorial Home, 89 Grand Ave., Swanton on Thursday evening, July 11, 2002, from 7 to 9 p.m. Interment will follow in the Feeley family lot in the Highgate Center Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers gifts in Fern's memory may be made to the Highgate United Methodist Church, Highgate Center, Vt. 05459.

Arrangements are entrusted to Kidder Memorial Home in Swanton.

REGINALD C. LANOUE

ST. ALBANS -- Mr. Reginald C. Lanoue, age 77, died Sunday, July 7, 2002, following a long period of failing health. He was born in St. Albans Dec. 30, 1924, son of the late Alfred and Freda (O'Bartin) Lanoue.

He served in the U.S. Marine Corps during World War II and returned to his home city to work at the railroad. He retired in 1986 as an engineer for the Central Vermont Railway, following over 39 years of service. He was a former resident of Cedar Street and lived in Orange City, Fla. for a few years following his retirement.

He was a communicant of Holy Angels Church and a member of the V.F.W. Post 758, the American Legion Post 1, Central Vermont Veterans Association and attended the C.V. Vets Friday morning coffee club.

He married Anna Seguin Nov. 28, 1946. Besides his wife of over 55 years, he is survived by five sons and their wives, Rodney (Skip) and Helen Lanoue of Orange City, Fla., David and Carmen Lanoue of St. Albans, Gary and Leila Lanoue of St. Albans, Robert and Nancy Lanoue of St. Albans, William and Julie Lanoue of Eustis, Fla.; two daughters, Debra and her husband William French of Hephzibah, Ga., Susan Cullen of St. Albans; nine grandsons; two granddaughters; seven great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law Sister Margaret Seguin of St. Albans, Mary Jane White of St. Albans; brothers-in-law and their wives Albert and Stella Seguin of Virginia Beach, Va., Harold and Felicia Seguin of Macon, Ga., Eugene and Mary Seguin of Carson City, Nev.; several nieces and nephews. All of his family was together to celebrate the 75th birthday of Anna on June 8, 2002.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday at 10 a.m. in Holy Angels Church. Friends may call at the Brady & Levesque Funeral Home, 86 South Main St., from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday. Interment will be in the Lanoue family lot in Mt. Calvary Cemetery.

Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider Masses, Vermont Diabetes Association, 77 Hegeman Ave., Colchester, Vt. 05446, or the American Heart Association, P.O. Box 485, Williston, Vt. 05495.

Arrangements are entrusted to the Brady & Levesque Funeral Home.

RICHARD F. NEWTON SR.

FAIRFAX/CHARLESTOWN, R.I. -- Richard F. Newton Sr., age 92 of Fairfax, previously of Charlestown, R.I., passed away late Tuesday evening, July 2, 2002, at Holiday House Nursing Home in St. Albans.

He was born in Holyoke, Mass. Jan. 12, 1910, son of the late James B. and Roberta F. (Cowan) Newton. He retired as a credit manager from the J. Russell & Company of Holyoke, Mass. He was a member of the St. Luke's Episcopal Church in St. Albans and a past member of the Bishop's Committee and treasurer of the Rhode Island Church of the Holy Spirit in Charlestown, R.I. He was a member of the National Association of Credit Managers and also had been very active with the Shady Harbor Community over the years.

Richard is survived by two sons, Richard F. Newton Jr. and his wife, Marjorie, of Westford, Mass. and David L. Newton and his wife, Sheila R., of Fairfax; a sister, Elena T. Wiley and her husband, William, of Arizona; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

He was also predeceased by his wife Florence Fay (Merrick) Newton in April of 1986; two brothers, Bertram H. Newton and James F. Newton; and a sister, Hildegarde Newton.

There will be no visiting hours or funeral services. Burial will be in the family lot in Forestdale Cemetery, Holyoke, Mass., at the convenience of the family. Memorial contributions may be made in Richard's memory to St. Luke's Episcopal Church, 8 Bishop St., St. Albans, Vt. 05478.

Arrangements are by the Hayes-Rich Funeral Home, 1176 Main St., Fairfax, Vt. 05454.

RAYMOND R. "JEEP" GUILMETTE

ST. ALBANS -- Raymond R. "Jeep" Guilmette, 88, passed away peacefully with his family at his side on Sunday morning, July 7, 2002. He was at the home of his daughter, Dianne Crawford.

He was born in Montgomery, March 25, 1914, the son of the late Renaldo and Winnie (Currier) Guilmette. His wife, Hilda Mae (Domingue) Guilmette, died on Feb. 4, 1973.

Raymond lived for many years on Rice Hill in Sheldon and worked for over 40 years in the wood room of Missisquoi Pulp and Paper Mill.

Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Ronaldo R. "Ron" and Jean Guilmette of St. Albans; two daughters, Dianne Crawford, and her husband, James, of St. Albans, and Lois Boucher and her husband, Gaylord, of Georgia. He also leaves three sisters, Marion Somerville of Michigan, Dorothy Waite of Los Angeles, Calif., and Joan Jettie of Swanton; seven grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.

Raymond's family wishes to extend its gratitude to the Franklin County Home Health Agency and their Hospice Program for the exceptional care they provided during Raymond's illness. They helped make it possible for him to stay at home where he wished to be.

In accordance with Raymond's wishes, there will be no public funeral service. Arrangements are by the Heald Funeral Home, 87 So. Main St., St. Albans.

ROBERT G. ANTHONY

ROUSES POINT, N.Y. - Robert G. Anthony, 67, died Thursday, July 4, 2002 at the CVPH Medical Center in Plattsburgh, N.Y.

He was born in Rouses Point on Feb. 20, 1935, the son of Herman and Mildred (Aubrey) Anthony.

Robert was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He served in the U.S. Air Force from 1957 to 1962. He was employed at the D&H Railroad as a car man and supervisor from 1953 to 1984. He was a member of the American Legion Post 912 and St. Patrick's Church. He enjoyed auto body repair, craft works, and his winter trips to Phoenix, Ariz.

Robert is survived by his wife of 43 years, Rose (Campbell) Anthony, whom he married Oct. 11, 1958; three sons and two daughters-in-law, Randy Anthony of Plattsburgh, Scott and Michelle Anthony of Rouses Point, Arthur and Rhonda Anthony of Franklin, Vt.; four daughters and sons-in-law, Cathy and Sheridan (Ted) Tedford, Robin and Larry Manor and Barbara and Garry Manor, all of Champlain and Gail and Brad Martin of Rouses Point; nine grandchildren, Melissa Anthony, Teddy and Jennifer Tedford, Cory and Erica Ballantine, Timothy and Eric Manor, Dustin Manor and Ashley Martin; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Patrick and Patricia Tardif of Phoenix Ariz., and Sandra Faulkner of Phoenix, Ariz.; several sisters and brothers-in-law; and nieces and nephews.

His parents and his mother- and father-in-law died earlier.

There will be no calling hours. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Tuesday from St. Patrick's Church in Rouses Point.

Memorial donations may be made to the Rouses Point Fire Dept., or the American Heart Association.

The. E.F. Drown Funeral Service in Champlain, N.Y. is in charge of arrangements.

ALAN B. MURCURY

BAKERSFIELD -- Alan B. Murcury, age 69, died unexpectedly July 5, 2002, in Bakersfield.

He was born Nov. 7, 1932, in Colchester, the son of the late Alcide and Guyneth (Moran) Murcury.

Alan was a life long resident of Bakersfield and was a 1951 graduate of Brigham Academy and was employed for the Town of Bakersfield for many years as Road Commissioner/Foreman. He was also very active in town affairs having served as Fire Warden, Prudential Committee of the Bakersfield Fire District and the Bakersfield Volunteer Fire Department. He also volunteered his time and equipment on several town projects. Alan was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War and was a member of the American Legion Post 42 of Enosburg Falls. He was a member of the Franklin County Sugarmakers Co-op. Alan enjoyed hunting, fishing and baseball.

He is survived by two sisters, Ann Newett of St. Augustine, Fla. and Jane Murcury of Chateguay, N.Y.; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday morning at 11 o'clock at St. Anthony's Catholic Church in East Fairfield. Interment will follow in St. George's Cemetery in Bakersfield.

Visiting hours will be held Monday from 7-9 p.m. at the Spears Funeral Home, 96 Dickinson Ave., Enosburg Falls.

For those who wish, contributions in his memory may be made to the Brigham Academy Alumni Association for the restoration of Brigham Academy, c/o Waneta Tanner, P.O. Box 663, Enosburg Falls, Vt. 05450.

BLANCHE M. LESSARD

RICHFORD -- Blanche M. Lessard, age 91, died Friday, July 5, 2002, at the Northwestern Medical Center in St. Albans with her family at her side.

She was born April 22, 1911, in St. Hubert, Quebec, Canada, the daughter of the late Mastai and Arsalie (Gregoire) Paquette.

She was a resident of Richford most of her life and a member of All Saints Catholic Church.

She is survived by a nephew, whom she raised, and his wife, Claude and Cathy Coulombe and their daughter, Danielle, of Richford; two step-sons John Lessard and his wife, Ivy, of Richford and Rene Lessard of Burlington, Ontario; one step-daughter and her husband, Rita and Bert Plante of Richford; three brothers and their wives, Henry and Margaret Paquette of East Richford, Gerard and Therese Paquette of Richford and Paul and Doris Paquette of Redhook, N.Y.; one sister, Dorilla Larose of White River Jct.; one sister-in-law Lillian Paquette of St. Albans; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her first husband, Romeo Charron in 1977; her second husband, William Lessard in 1995; four brothers, Lucien, Victor, Joseph and John Paquette; five sisters, Marie Couture, Jeanne Durenleau, Margaret Vien, Lucienne Coulombe and Marie Louise Martin.

Funeral services will be held Monday morning at 11 at All Saints Catholic Church with Reverend Frank Eksterowicz celebrating the Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow in All Saints Cemetery.

Friends and relatives may call on the family Monday morning from 9 to 10:30 at the Spears Funeral Home, 96 Dickinson Ave., Enosburg Falls.
