Phyllis A. Lavoie
Brandon, Vermont
Phyllis Ann Lavoie, 57, died Friday, December 24, 1999 at the Pleasant Manor Nursing Home in Rutland; following a courageous 8-1/2 year battle with brain cancer.
Mrs. Lavoie was born in Bristol, Connecticut on April 7, 1942. She was the daughter of Otto Charles and Martha (Oswald) Rindfleisch. She was a graduate of Farmington, Connecticut High School, Class of 1960. She married James J. Lavoie on December 8, 1969 in Meriden, Connecticut. She had been a resident of Brandon since November 1983, moving from Bristol, Connecticut. Mrs. Lavoie was a housewife and homemaker.
Surviving is her husband James J. Lavoie of Brandon; one son Aric Rindfleisch of Tucson, Arizona; two daughters, Laura Ann Westover of Sheldon, Vermont and Debra Lee Lavoie of South Royalton, Vermont; two brothers, Donald Rindfleisch of California and Kenneth Rindfleisch of Albuquerque, New Mexico. She is also survived by two granddaughters, Amber Westover and Kayla Ann Westover, both of Sheldon; as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral services were held on Tuesday, December 28, 1999 at the Miller & Ketcham Funeral Home in Brandon. The Reverend Richard White, Pastor of the Brandon Congregational Church officiated. A graveside committal service and burial followed in Pine Hill Cemetery.

Constance B. Claghorn
Weybridge, Vermont
Constance Beardsley Claghorn, wife of David M. Claghorn, died December 19, 1999 at her home in Weybridge.
She was born August 17, 1916 in Springfield, Vermont, the daughter of Dr. William and Anna (Hartness) Beardsley. She was educated at Dana Hall School, Wellesley College, and Lowthorpe School of Landscape Architecture. She received a Bachelor's Degree in Landscape Architecture from the Rhode Island School of Design. She enjoyed gardening and painting, and was a member of St. Stephen's Episcopal Church in Middlebury. She was interested in the field of mental health.
She is survived by her husband David of Weybridge; a son, Michael Claghorn of Vancouver, B.C. Canada; a daughter, Judith Mitchener of Cleveland Heights, Ohio; a brother, J. Hartness Beardsley of Blue Hill, Maine; a sister, Mary B. Fenn of West Windsor, Vermont; and two grandchildren.
Memorial Services were held Tuesday, January 4, 2000 at St. Stephen's Episcopal Church in Middlebury.

Ada L. Bacon
Vergennes, Vermont
Ada Louise Bacon, 70, died Monday, December 27, 1999 at Porter Medical Center in Middlebury.
She was born September 13, 1929 in Burlington, the daughter of Frederick and Beatrice (Beaupree) Valiquette.
Ada was a member of St. Peter's Catholic Church in Vergennes. She attended Project Independence in Middlebury.
Her husband Donald Bacon predeceased her in 1982.
Ada is survived by four children; Marlene Safford and son-in-law Joseph Safford of Vergennes, Eugene and his friend Susan Anderson of Weybridge, Mary and her husband Michael Safford of Vergennes, Leslie and her husband Robert Karzmarcayk of Bristol; 14 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren; her father Fredrick Valiquette of Colchester; four sisters, Shirley Utter of Colchester, Caroline Chamberlain of Burlington, Beatrice Ross of St. Albans, Theresa Lemons of St. Albans. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Ada was predeceased by her son Richard in 1974, and two sisters.
A mass of Christian burial was celebrated Thursday, December 30, 1999 at St. Peter's Catholic Church in Vergennes. Interment was in New Mount Calvary Cemetery in Burlington.

William G. Bibeau
Vergennes, Vermont
William G. Bibeau, 75, died Monday, December 27, 1999 at the Vermont Respite House in Williston.
He was born November 10, 1924 in Vergennes, the son of Ralph and Inys (Leach) Bibeau.
Bill served in the U.S. Army during WWII and was a member of the Vergennes American Legion Post #14. He owned and operated Rivers Bend Camp Ground in New Haven until his retirement in 1994.
Bill was predeceased by his wife Gladys in 1990.
He is survived by five children; Bonnie Olzack of Arizona, Suellen Morin of Maine, Kyri Cimonette of Pittsford, Rhys Bibeau and Mark Bibeau, both of Florida; nine grandchildren; four great-grandchildren as well as several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held Thursday, December 30, 1999 at the Brown-McClay Funeral Home in Vergennes. Interment was in Prospect Cemetery in Vergennes.

Peter P. Lalumiere
Vergennes, Vermont
Peter Paul Lalumiere, 83, died peacefully at his home on Monday, December 27, 1999.
He was born June 29, 1916 in Valcourt, Quebec, the son of Henri and Zepherine (Authier) Lalumiere.
He and his family immigrated to Vermont in 1924 and worked on many farms in Franklin, Chittenden, Grand Isle and Addison County. He and his family owned and operated a farm in South Hero. He worked as a stone mason and carpenter at Basin Harbor Club for many years and as a Foreman at White Pigment Corporation in New Haven. He retired from White Pigment in 1978.
Peter was a member of St. Peter's Parish in Vergennes and a former member of Knights of Columbus Alburg Council.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years; Lillian (Sears) Lalumiere of Vergennes; his sons, Lewis and his wife Karolyn of Ferrisburgh, Anthony and his wife Debbie of West Ferrisburgh, John of South Hero, Francis and his wife Cindy of Addison; a daughter, Mary Ringer and her husband David of Ferrisburgh, 15 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren; two brothers Elphege and Bernard, both of South Hero. Peter is also survived by several nieces and nephews, many extended family members, neighborhood kids who enjoyed many meals and family time "at the big house on the hill," especially Richard Brunet, two sisters-in-law Elaine Sears and Lillian Sears of Ferrisburgh.
He was predeceased by his brothers Yves, Noel and Rosario, and his sisters Gertrude and Irene.
A mass of Christian burial was celebrated Friday, December 31, 1999 at St. Peter's Catholic Church in Vergennes. Interment was is St. Peter's Cemetery in Vergennes.

Marguerite L.M. Perkins
Weybridge, Vermont
Marguerite Lucille (Masse) Perkins of Weybridge, Vermont died Tuesday, December 28, 1999, in Porter Medical Center, surrounded by her family. She is now resting in peace after a courageous 10-year battle with lung disease. Marguerite was born to Philiza and Antoinette (Perrier) Masse on May 31, 1923 in Pointe Claire, Quebec, Canada.
Marguerite and her family moved to Vermont when she was three years old and later became a naturalized citizen. She grew up in the counties of Addison and Rutland, where she eventually met her husband Ken. They were united in marriage on September 21 1946 and later settled in Weybridge. Marguerite's main focus was raising their family; her love for children and cooking later led her to the Weybridge Elementary School where she was the head cook. In 1976 she went to work in the custodial department at Middlebury College, from where she retired in 1985.
Even though Marguerite was hearing impaired from early childhood, she was a very resourceful and talented person; she was a self-taught musician, cook, seamstress, and hairdresser. She was a very kind, considerate, patient, and selfless person. She loved her family and friends above all else.
She leaves behind her devoted and loving husband of 53 years, Kenneth John Perkins. Her three sons survive her; John of Weybridge, Jim and his wife Bonnie of Deltona, Florida, Gary and his wife Susan of Weybridge; seven grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and cousins. She is also survived by her brother, Marcel Masse of South Carolina and her sister Irene Lussier of Fair Haven.
Marguerite was predeceased by five brothers and two sisters.
A mass of Christian burial was held on Friday, December 31, 1999 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Middlebury. Interment and committal services followed at the Weybridge Hill Cemetery in Weybridge. Reverend John McDermott was the celebrant.
