NORMAN R. WHITCOMB

East Bethel, VT - NORMAN R. WHITCOMB, 75, of East Bethel, died Monday, June 15, 2015 at University of Vermont Medical Center in Burlington.
He was born March 28, 1940 in Stockbridge; the son of Lawrence V. and Marion A. (Luce) Whitcomb. He was raised in Stockbridge, and graduated from Whitcomb High School in 1958. Norm was married
to Dalene Rogers in East Bethel on Dec. 31, 1961, and had lived in Bethel for 38 years before moving to East Bethel in 2002. He had worked as an electrician with Bill Turner, then as a mechanic and manager of Dean’s Auto Service for 58 years. Norm was a 43 year member and past Assistant Chief of the Bethel Fire Department and member of the Bethel Masonic Lodge and Shriners, and Bethel Jaycees. He enjoyed playing horseshoes, bowling, hunting, fishing, snowmobile racing, maple sugaring, playing poker, and watching NASCAR.
Survivors include his wife, Dalene Whitcomb of East Bethel; son, Lonny Whitcomb and companion Kristy White of So. Randolph; daughters, Jenny Flint and husband, Doug and Lisa Flint and husband, Dan all of East Bethel, and Jolene Snelling and husband, Jason of Bethel; brother, Newt Whitcomb and wife, Susan of Bethel; sister, Evelyn Folsom and husband, Malvern of Pittsfield; 15 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his sister, Florence Raymond and brother, Victor Whitcomb.
Calling hours are from 6:00-8:00-pm Friday, June 19th at the Day Funeral Home in Randolph. Memorial Services will be held at 2:00pm Saturday, June 20th at the United Church of Bethel, with Pastor Thomas Harty, officiating. Burial will follow at Maplewood cemetery on Stockbridge Common. ROBERT W. "BOB" SOULE
(Died June 14, 2015)

Randolph - Robert W. “Bob” Soule, 89, died Sunday, June 14, 2015 at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, NH.
He was born July 13, 1925 in Randolph the son of Horace and Ada (Allen) Soule.
Bob attended Randolph schools and graduated from Randolph High School in 1943. He served in the U.S. Army, 274th Armored Field Artillery Division, during WW II. He received numerous awards and citations including The Purple Heart, a Silver Star and a Bronze Star. Following his discharge from the service, Bob attended Goddard College. He then went to the Faust School of Piano Tuning and Allied Arts in Boston. He was married
to Roberta Eddy December 24, 1947 in Randolph. He worked as a piano tuner for many years throughout Vermont and New Hampshire. Bob also was a postal worker at the Randolph Post Office until retiring in 1981.His memberships included Montague Golf Club, Randolph American Legion Post #9, the Randolph V.F.W. Post #9449 and was a 60 year member of the Randolph Masonic Lodge. Bob was an avid golfer and had won the Montague Club Championship in 1956. He was also an artist, writer, stamp collector and music lover.
He is survived by 2 sons; Thomas Soule and wife Karen of Bethel and Russell Soule of Haverhill, MA, a daughter Elizabeth Soule of Randolph, 2 foster sons; Donald Osmer of Ayer, MA and Jeffrey Osmer of Nantucket, MA, 3 brothers; Allen Soule of Calais, Jack Soule of Inverness, FL and Ron Soule of Mandeville, LA and 7 grandchildren. He was predeceased by his wife Roberta Soule in 2014.
Memorial services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, July 11th at Day Funeral Home with Pastor Thomas Harty officiating. Burial, with military honors, will be at 10:00 A.M. Monday, July 13th at the Vermont Veterans memorial cemetery in Randolph Center. Calling hours will be Friday evening July 10th from 6:00-7:00 P.M. at the funeral home.

KENYON WAYNE TIRRELL, SR.

Randolph - Kenyon Wayne Tirrell, Sr., 57, died Tuesday, March 3, 2015 at his home in Randolph.
He was born August 25, 1957 in Montague, MA the don of Paul and Joanne (Gallison) Tirrell, Jr..
Kenyon was raised in Greenfield, MA and attended Greenfield schools. Following his education he served in the U.S. Army. Kenyon was a self employed Jack of all trades. He was married
to Kathryn (Jones) Vias July 4, 2007 in Vermont. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, crossword puzzles and building model cars.
He is survived by his wife Kathryn Vias of Randolph, his mother and step-father Joanne and Robert Lamson of S. Royalton, 2 sons; Kenyon and wife Amanda Tirrell, Jr. and Aarron Tirrell both of Greenfield, MA, a daughter Heather and wife Bonnie Madore of Holly, MA, 3 sisters; Rose Volpe of Randolph, Lisa Mulligan of Turners Falls, MA and Paula Tirrell of SC, 4 brothers; John Volpe and Bob Volpe both of Greenfield, MA, Pete Tirrell of SC and Joseph Tirrell of NH, 10 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his father Paul Tirrell, Jr., grandparents Glenna and Maynard Gallison and Paul and Mary Tirrell, Sr., a daughter Lynn Tirrell, a sister Terry Tirrell and 2 great-granddaughters Lilly and Lexie Tirrell.
Family memorial services will be held at a later date.

DONNA L. GILMAN
(Died March 3, 2015)
Braintree - Donna L. Gilman, 52, died peacefully with her daughters at her side, Tuesday, March 3, 2015 at Rutland Health & Rehabilitation Center in Rutland.
She was born December 11, 1962 in Proctor the daughter of Henry and Junnie (Rowe) White.
Donna attended Rochester schools and graduated from Rochester High School in 1980. She had worked at G.W. Plastics in Bethel for 3 years and had been a waitress at the Rochester Café. More recently she worked as a Licensed Nursing Assistant at Eden Park in Rutland and at Mayo Healthcare in Northfield. She enjoyed gaming, puzzles, hands on art activities, country music and shopping. She especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.
She is survived by her 2 daughters; Jenni Campbell and husband Paul of Tunbridge and Kelli Mongeur of Braintree, 3 sisters; Deborah White, Diane Shepard and Darlene Thompson all of Rochester, a brother Keith White of Rochester, 3 grandchildren; Dylan Campbell, Simon Campbell and Ava Huntley and many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her parents and a brother Kenneth White.
A Celebration of Life will be held from 3:00-7:00 PM, Saturday, March 14th at the Randolph Area Senior Center, 6 Hale St., Randolph.
ANNA BENOIT-NICHOLS
(January 19, 1934 - March 2, 2015)
Randolph, VT - ANNA BENOIT-NICHOLS, 81, of Randolph, died Monday, March 2, 2015 at Gifford Medical Center.
She was born January 19, 1934 in South Royalton; the daughter of Norman and Bertha (Clark) Davis. Anna had farmed, and was an owner, truck driver and book-keeper for Benoit Trucking, then worked as a book-keeper for Casella Waste Management. She moved to Randolph in 1981 and was married
to Robert Nichols in Randolph in 1986. She was a great cook who enjoyed playing miniature golf/pasture pool, sewing, and playing cards.
Survivors include her husband, Robert Nichols of Randolph; son, Brian Benoit and wife, Dana Zeilinger-Benoit of Lebanon, NH; daughters, Beth Nichols of Belmont, MA and Betty Jean Tracy of Lyme, NH; 1 grandchild.
Memorial Services will be held at 2:00pm Saturday, March 7th at the Day Funeral Home, with Rev. Ronald E. Rilling, officiating. There will be a calling hour from 1pm until service time Saturday at the funeral home. Burial will be at the convenience of the family at Little Hollow cemetery in Rochester Hollow. HARRIET H. HUTCHINSON
(May 14, 1920 - February 21, 2015)
Randolph, VT - HARRIET H. HUTCHINSON, 94, of Randolph, died Saturday evening, February 21, 2015 at Mayo Healthcare in Northfield.
She was born May 14, 1920 in Bethel, VT; the daughter of Henry G. and Laura Hardy. She was married
to Lucien Hutchinson in Randolph on January 1, 1954, at which time she moved to Northville, New York, returning to Vermont in 2011. Harriet had worked as a typesetter for the Randolph Herald. She also sold Avon Products and Sarah Coventry Jewelry, and was a housekeeper at the Camp of the Woods in Speculator, NY. She was a volunteer driver for Senior Citizens, and enjoyed reading, her cats, snowmobiling, and picking berries.
Survivors include her brother, George Hardy of Randolph, VT; nieces, Jeanne Sargent of Randolph, VT, Ruth Tucker of Randolph Center, VT; nephews, Matthew Hardy of Braintree, VT, Gordon Hutchinson of Willis, VA, and David Hutchinson of Troy, VT.
Graveside Services in May at the Vermont Veterans Memorial cemetery in Randolph Center, will be announced at a later date. There are no calling hours. LINDSAY "MIKE" H. WHEELER
(June 4, 1931 - February 15, 2015)
Northfield, VT - LINDSAY H. "MIKE" WHEELER, 83, of Northfield, died Sunday, February 15, 2015 at Mayo Health Care.
He was born on June 4, 1931 in Northfield; the son of Sumner and Ruth (Boardman) Wheeler. He was a lifetime Northfield resident and graduated from Northfield High School. Lindsay had been a cook for the Northfield School District and for the Red Kettle Restaurant that he owned with his brother, David. He was Past Master of the Northfield Grange, had been a lister for the Town of Northfield, and enjoyed hunting.
Surviving his brother, David Wheeler of Northfield.
Calling hours are from 5:00-7:00pm Wednesday, Feb. 18th at the Day Funeral Home in Randolph. Graveside Services at West Hill cemetery in Northfield will be announced in the Spring. Contributions in his memory may be made to your favorite charity.
EDGAR R. MORIN
(July 21, 1927 - February 14, 2015)

Braintree, VT - EDGAR R. MORIN, 87, of Braintree, died Saturday, Feb. 14th in the Garden Room at Gifford Medical Center.
He was born July 21, 1927 in Fall River, MA, where he grew up and attended St. Anne’s Catholic School. Edgar was a diesel mechanic in the U.S. Army during World War II, and was married
to Rita Laflamme on May 21, 1949 in Swansea, MA. Together they operated a small convenience store and soda fountain in Ocean Grove, MA. Edgar had worked as a machinist for Brown and Sharp Machinery in Providence, RI, and later in North Kingstown, RI for 58 years. Edgar had a green thumb for gardening and loved fishing and boating, and square dancing. He volunteered for the Coast Guard Auxiliary in Rhode Island, and for the Randolph Area Food Shelf doing various errands and sending thank you notes to donors. He was a member of Our Lady of the Angels Catholic Church, and Knights of Columbus.
Survivors include his wife, Rita; a daughter, Helene Woodward and her husband, Gene of Braintree; grandson, Michael Rice of Braintree; great-granddaughter Sarah Rice. He was predeceased by his brothers, Charles Morin and Robert Morin, and by a son, Raymond Morin.
A Memorial Mass will be held at 11:00am Saturday, Feb. 28th at Our Lady of the Angels Catholic Church in Randolph, with Rev. John Milanese, officiating. There are no calling hours. Burial will be in the Spring at the Vermont Veterans Memorial cemetery in Randolph Center.
