Ann Mansur-Lagro

Vernon — Ann Mansur-Lagro, 50, of Pond Road died unexpectedly Thursday morning, April 21, 2011 at her home following a lengthy illness.

She was born in Washington, D.C. on December 16, 1960, the daughter of Donald B. and Jeanne (Milton) Mansur. She was raised and educated in Springfield, Mass., and was a graduate of Springfield Technical High School, class of 1976.

She had been employed at Brattleboro Memorial Hospital where she retired early due to her failing health. Previously she had worked at Vermont Green Nursing Home.

She was a member of the Vermont Advent Christian Church. She enjoyed craft painting and time shared with her family, especially her sons and grandchildren.

On August 7, 1999 in Vernon she married George B. Lagro, originally from Randolph.

In addition to her husband of 11 years, she is survived by two sons, Brent Mansur and Todd Carr, both of Vernon; a stepson, Kevin Lagro of Worcester, Mass.; one sister, Sandra Dec of Warren, Mass.; six grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; an aunt, Betty Chamberlin of Vernon; and several nieces and nephews.

A memorial service in celebration of her life was conducted May 10 at the Vernon Advent Christian Church with Rev. Bruce Burks officiating. Burial will be in Tyler cemetery in Vernon, next to her parents.

Memorial contributions in her name may be made to Vernon Advent Christian Church, 4554 Fort Bridgman Road, Vernon, Vt. 05354 or to Brattleboro Area Hospice, 191 Canal Street, Brattleboro, VT 05301.

Jeraldine Travers

Fitzwilliam, N.H. — Jeraldine Marie Travers, 78, died May 6, 2011, at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center.

She was born at home on Church Street in Middletown, N.J., on January 26, 1933, the daughter of Jerome Leo and Marie Josephine (LaBrecque) Travers.

She graduated from Red Bank Catholic High School, Red Bank, N.J., in 1951 as valedictorian. She graduated from the College of Saint Joseph in Rutland in 1978.

After high school, she worked at Mount English Ford, Red Bank, N.J., where she met her first husband, Cecil “Sandy” Angier Graves. They married in St. James Catholic Church in Red Bank, N.J. in 1953. They had five children and lived in Red Bank, N.J., and West Fairlee.

She married Walter Whitaker in 1964. They lived in Red Bank, N.J. and had two children.

She worked for the Internal Revenue Service for 25 years, and at Manadnock Regional High School in New Hampshire for five years. She volunteered at Cheshire Medical Center in Keene, N.H.

She enjoyed working in her gardens, as well as spending time with her friends in the garden club.

Survivors include seven children and their spouses: Sandee Gendron, Marie and Paul Graves-Audette, Beth and Mark Graves-Lombard, Mark and Sandy Graves, John Graves, Amy and Matt Poirier of Randolph, and Jo and Keith Canney; two sisters and their husbands, Jacqueline and Donald Patterson and Alida and Donald Masyada; 19 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her first husband, Cecil Angier Graves Jr.; her second husband, Walter Whitaker; and her sister, Marie Elizabeth (Travers) Paine.

Funeral services took place Wednesday, May 11 at the Immaculate Conception Church in Troy, N.H.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory may be made to the Fitzwilliam Fire Department -c/o FREMS Association of Fitzwilliam, P.O. Box 725, Fitzwilliam, N.H. 03447; or to the Visiting Nurses Association at www.vnavnh.org.

Mary M. Young

White River Jct. — Mary M. Young, 91, died Sunday, May 1, 2011 at the Brookside Nursing Home in White River Jct.

She was born January 11, 1920 in Tunbridge, the daughter of Elmer and Jennie (Langmaid) Rowell. She was married to Ralph M. Young June 19, 1938. She worked for many years at Robert F. Lewis Inc., a book binding business in Woodstock.

Mary was also a wonderful housewife and homemaker. She loved her family, her home and dancing to Woody and the Ramblers.

Mr. Young died November 6, 1979. She was also predeceased by her brother, Leslie Rowell; sisters, Elizabeth (Rowell) Boles and Roberta Neal; and several nieces and nephews.

Mary is survived by her three children and their spouses: Ralph and Jean Young of Macon, N.C., Roger and Jackie Young of Enfield, N.H., and Rowena and William Rossa of Englewood, Fla.; five grandchildren: Roger E. Young, Debbie Glinos, Ralph “Tony” Young, Lisa Lyon Visny, and Eric Lyon; 10 great grandchildren: Joshua and Heather Emerson, Tonya and Anthony Young, Morgan and Jacob Visny, Gage and Ryker Lyon, and Keely and Jessica Young; and two sisters, Jean Zeno of Shelburne, and Ruth Hodgdon of West Hartford. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Following cremation, a private family committal service will be held at the Spring Road cemetery in Tunbridge. Family and friends are invited to an open house gathering at Mary’s Home in White River Jct., Saturday, May 14 from 2-6 p.m.

Memorial contributions may be made to Brookside Nursing Home Activity Fund, 1200 Christian Street, White River Jct., Vt. 05001. The Boardway & Cilley Funeral Home in Chelsea is in charge of arrangements.

Robyn Wright

Redwood City, Calif. — Robyn Linton Cotner Wright, 75, died Saturday, April 30, 2011.

She was the daughter of Robert Cotner and Helen Linton Cotner Hague. Her talents were evident at a young age as she grew up acting, singing, dancing, and playing piano on the stages of her hometown of Wilmington, Ohio. These gifts led her to study at Stephens College in Missouri, New York University and Yale University.

Acting with the likes of Sydney Pollack, Wayne Rogers, and Suzanne Pleshette, her career blossomed. Her dance career rose to its zenith in New York City, where she danced with Martha Graham.

She performed at Neighborhood Playhouse School of the Theatre, on and off Broadway, where she met James Weston Wright, whom she eventually married .

After a brief time living in Pasadena, Calif., the Wrights moved to Stockbridge, where they purchased and restored an old farm.

She raised her two daughters while she taught dance and directed and choreographed musicals at local high schools and colleges. Later in her life, she became very active with the Vermont Ladies Shrine.

Shortly after the death of her husband in 2003, she sold the farm and moved to Woodstock, where she pursued her creative writing talents. In 2005, she moved to Los Altos, Calif. She sang with the Mountain View Senior Chorus and Choraliers, and spent time with family and friends.

Survivors include Wright’s two daughters, Elizabeth and Juliet, and a son-in-law, Warren Thornthwaite.

A memorial service will be held in Vermont later this summer. People wishing to remember her more formally can make donations to the Palo Alto Medical Foundation at www.pamf.org/giving or the Interlochen Center for the Arts at www.interlochen.org/support.

Stoddard Service

A graveside funeral service for Cesarine A. Stoddard, 100, of Brookfield, who died January 3, 2011, will be held Saturday, May 21 at 11 a.m. at the East Hill cemetery in Brookfield.

The Boardway & Cilley Funeral Home in Chelsea is in charge of arrangements.

K. Wright Services

Graveside services for Kenneth L. Wright, 78, of Sharon, who died December 15, 2010, were held Monday morning, May 9 at Pine Hill cemetery in Sharon, with Betty Edson officiating.

Remembrances were shared by daughter Elizabeth Jane Stachowiak, and bagpipe music was provided by grandson-in-law Ben O’Brien.

Arrangements were by the Day Funeral Home in Randolph.

Bennett Services

Committal services for former Hancock resident Clara Belle Bennett, 71, who died Jan. 24, 2011, will be held Saturday, May 14 at 2 p.m. at the Hancock Village cemetery, with Rev. Wayne Holsman officiating.

Arrangements are by the Day Funeral Home in Randolph.

McIntyre Services

Graveside memorial services for Cathy L. McIntyre, of Rochester, who died Feb. 4, 2011, were held Thursday afternoon, May 5 at Woodlawn cemetery in Rochester, with Rev. Gregory Homan officiating.

Remembrances were shared by her children, Eric and Catrina, and by her mother, Lorraine Lewis. The service concluded with a balloon release, and was followed by a reception at the family camp.

Arrangements were by Day Funeral Home in Randolph.

Frederick Services

Committal services for Edna Ellen Sutton Frederick, 91, of Randolph Center, who died Dec. 23, 2010, will be held Wednesday, May 18 at 10 a.m. at the Vermont Veterans Memorial cemetery in Randolph Center, with Rev. Ronald E. Rilling officiating.

Arrangements are by the Day Funeral Home of Randolph.

Hart Services

Graveside memorial services and military honors for William Hart, 79, of Bethel, who died Feb. 23, 2011, will be held Saturday, May 14 at 10 a.m. at Cherry Hill cemetery in Bethel, with Pastor Thomas Harty officiating.

Arrangements are by the Day Funeral Home in Randolph.

Ladd Services

Graveside services for Kim S. Ladd, 56, of Randolph, who died March 21, 2011, will be held Sunday, May 15 at 2 p.m. at Pleasant View cemetery in Randolph, with Rev. Robin Junker officiating.

A reception will follow at Randolph Elementary School.

Arrangements are by the Day Funeral Home of Randolph.
