DEBRA (MAZZITELLI) DONALDSON

BURLINGTON/ST. ALBANS -- Debra M. Donaldson, 48, died unexpectedly on Friday, March 29, 2002, at Fletcher Allen Health Care.

She was born in Anchorage, Alaska on April 12, 1953, the daughter of Joseph and Elizabeth (Richard) Mazzitelli. She graduated with honors from Rice Memorial High School, where she was Salutatorian of her class. She later attended and graduated from Trinity College (Cum Laude) with a B.A. in Clinical Psychology. She was employed in Social Services with Howard Center For Human Services, working with developmentally disabled adults for 14 years. She then became employed at St. Michael's College in the library.

Debra had a passion for helping people and loved animals.

She is survived by her loving husband Allan B. Donaldson of St. Albans; her dog Zack; her father Joseph Mazzitelli of North Berwick, Maine; her step-father Robert Van Ornum, Sr. and his wife Linda of Ocala, Fla; her brothers, sisters and spouses, Laurie and Tony LaRock, Anne and Thomas Francis, Gina and Woody Brown, Lisa Mazzitelli and Robert Barclay, Marybeth Perry, Bonnie Van Ornum, Bobby and Sharon Van Ornum, Jr., Andrew Mazzitelli and Joseph Mazzitelli, Jr.; her aunt, Denise Richard; two uncles, Eugene Richard, Jr. and Jim Mazzitelli; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was predeceased by her mother, Elizabeth Van Ornum; and recently by her father-in-law Leo Donaldson.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday at 1 p.m. in St. Joseph Co-Cathedral. Later interment will be in New Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Visiting hours are Wednesday from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. in Elmwood-Meunier Funeral Home, 97 Elmwood Ave., Burlington.

MERLE HENRY ERNO

ALBURG -- Merle Henry Erno, 77, longtime resident of the Greenwoods Road, died late Tuesday afternoon, May 28, 2002, in the Fletcher Allen Health Care Facility in Burlington.

He was born in Franklin, Dec. 12, 1924, the son of the late Ernest H. and Mildred (Hates) Erno. He attended schools in Franklin and was married to the former Bernice Bolio who survives him.

For several years Merle was associated with the former A. G. Anderson Concrete Company in Swanton and was a member of the Union Bible Church in Alburg Village.

In addition to his wife, Bernice Erno of Alburg, Merle leaves two sons and their wives, Ernie and Kathy Erno of Enosburg Falls and Steve and Joanne Erno of Corinth; two daughters, Diane Bohannon of Alburg and Linda Vanslette of Fairfield; three brothers and sisters-in-law, Walter and Margaret Erno of St. Albans, Edward and Dora Erno of New Hampshire, and Ernest and Elizabeth Erno of Franklin; four sisters and brothers-in-law, Mildred and Charles Boudreau of Quebec, Canada, Myra and Wayne Toof of St. Albans, Mary and Eric LaRock of Burlington, Sandra and Donald Armstrong of Enosburg; seven grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; seven-great-grandchildren; and seven step-great-grandchildren; as well as many, many nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was predeceased by brothers, Harold, Charlie, Vonwick, Edward and Ernest Erno; sisters, Elizabeth Guides, Mary LaRock, June Morgan; a son-in-law, Delbert Bohannon; and other brothers- and sisters-in-law.

Funeral Services will be held Monday, June 3, 2002, at 11 a.m. from the Kidder Memorial Home, 89 Grand Avenue, Swanton. Dr. John C. Kehoe, pastor of the Alburg Union Bible Church will officiate. Interment will follow in the South Franklin Cemetery. Friends may call at Kidder Memorial Home on Monday morning from 10 a.m. until the hour of the funeral.

Gifts in Merle's memory may be made to the Union Bible Church, in care of Dr. John C. Kehoe, Main Street Alburg, Vt. 05440 or to the Visiting Nurses Association, 1110 Prim Rd. Colchester, Vt. 05446.

HARRIET L. ROCHELEAU

ST. ALBANS -- Mrs. Harriet L. Rocheleau, age 78, died peacefully at her home, Monday afternoon, May 27, 2002, following a brief illness, with her loving family at her bedside.

She was born in Swanton June 26, 1923, daughter of the late Era and Ella (Lashway) Mulheron. Harriet was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary Unit 758 and the Women of the Moose, Chapter 321. Feb. 16, 1941, she married George Rocheleau.

Besides her husband of over 61 years, she is survived by her four children and their spouses John and Anna Rocheleau of Swanton, Linda and Hank Gadouas of St. Albans, Steven and Janice Rocheleau of Fairfax and Thomas and Linda Rocheleau of St. Albans; 13 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; two sisters, Hazel Allen of Alburg and Rae Barney and her husband Gerald of Swanton; two brothers, Ezra (Zing) Mulheron, Jr. and his wife Lorraine of Swanton and Ralph Mulheron of Swanton; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brother Arthur Mulheron; and a sister Mildred (Mag) Brennan.

Beloved by everyone, especially all her grandchildren, she will be missed by all for her wonderful food and hospitality, great sense of humor and all the good times that she always made possible for anyone and everyone.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday at 10 a.m. in Holy Angels Church. Interment will be in the Rocheleau family lot in Mt. Calvary Cemetery.

Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider the Franklin County Home Health Association, 3 Home Health Ave., St. Albans, Vt. 05478, The American Cancer Society, 13 Loomis St., Montpelier, Vt. 05602, or the V.F.W. Post 758, 353 Lake Road, St. Albans, Vt. 05478.

ALLEN ROSS McALLISTER

EAST FAIRFIELD/EDEN -- Allen Ross McAllister, age 42, died suddenly Tuesday, May 21, 2002, at his home in East Fairfield. He was born in Morrisville on May 25, 1959, the son of Reginald and Ursula McAllister. He attended school in Eden and joined the U.S. Army, serving from May of 1976, to May of 1982. While in the service he served as a member of the Presidential Honor Guards and a guard at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. He spent the remaining short years of his life as a carpenter.

Allen was married to Laurie Fennell and is survived by his three children Jeremy, Jessie and Ashley; six grandchildren Corey, Tyler, Dylan, Elizabeth, Gabriel and Hailey; six sisters and their spouses Marguerite and Fred Bailey, Sherida and Rhett LaRose, Diane and Harold Deale, Susan and Louis Haller, Nancy Rooney, Bonnie and Michael Legue; three brothers, John and Laura McAllister, Garry McAllister, Brian McAllister and his friend Ginette Gates; many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by two brothers, Paul and Jimmy.

Graveside funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, June 1, 2002, with interment to follow at the Eden Corners Cemetery. Friends may call at the Brady & Levesque Funeral Home, 86 South Main St., St. Albans, from 7 to 9 Friday evening.

Arrangements are entrusted to the Brady & Levesque Funeral Home.

GABRIELLE ALICE CHASE

WINCHENDON, Mass./ALBURG -- Gabrielle A. Chase, 69, a resident of Winchendon, Mass. died early Monday morning, May 20, 2002, at the home of her son in Alburg.

Gabrielle was born in Bristol, Conn. on Aug. 10, 1932, the daughter of the late Edward and Alice (Dumont) Boisvert.

In addition to her husband of 52 years Richard Chase of Winchendon, Mass., Gabrielle leaves a son Richard Alan and his wife Barbara Chase of Alburg; a daughter Judy Jarvis of New Ipswich, N.H.; two sisters Theresa Hopper of Worcester, Mass., Jeanette Lamy and her husband Arthur of Westford, Mass. She also leaves three grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Thursday, June 6, 2002, at the St. Anne's Shrine in Isle La Motte. Father Maurice U. Boucher, SSE will be the Celebrant and Homilist. The Chase family has requested that there be no viewing. Interment will be private and at the convenience of the family. Arrangements are by Kidder Memorial Home, 89 Grand Ave. Swanton.

ROTHA EILEEN HAZARD

SWANTON -- Mrs. Rotha Eileen Hazard, 90, a lifelong area resident died Friday morning, May 24, 2002, in The Holiday House Nursing and Rehabilitation Facility in St. Albans Town.

She was born in Highgate, Feb. 20, 1912, the daughter of the late William and Blanche (Fales) Holden. She attended schools in Highgate Springs and on Sept. 1, 1936, married George Hazard who predeceased her on July 4, 1978.

Mrs. Hazard was a lifelong parishioner of The Church of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary and a former member of the St. Anne's Academy Mothers Club.

She leaves her nine children and their spouses, Eileen and Raymond Gadue of Swanton, Roy and Ann Hazard of Deland, Fla., Danny Hazard of Swanton, Mary and Mark Bushey of Swanton, Richard and Nancy Hazard of Swanton, Patricia Newton of St. Albans, Carol and Maynard Rogers of Swanton, Anne and Orland Bressette of Webster, Fla. and Cathy Chase of Mechanic Falls, Maine; one brother Robert Holden and his wife Georgena of South Pomfret; 18 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; two step-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by a brother, William; and a sister, Bertha.

Mrs. Hazard's family wishes to give special thanks to the management and staff of Our Lady of the Meadows in Richford and The Holiday House in St. Albans Town for all the love, care, and support given to their mother during the past several months.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday, June 1, 2002, at 11 a.m. from The Church of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary, 65 Canada Street, Swanton. The Pastor, Father John J. Meagher, SSE will be the celebrant and homilist. Interment will follow in the Hazard family lot in St. Mary's Cemetery.

Friends may call at the Kidder Memorial Home, 89 Grand Avenue, Swanton on Friday, May 31, 2002, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Gifts in Mrs. Hazard's memory may be made to the charity of one's choice.

MADELINE F. (BENOIT) HOWARD

GRAFTON, Mass./ENOSBURG FALLS -- Madeline F. ( Benoit ) Howard, 86, formerly of North St. and Worcester St., died Sunday, May 26, in The Northbridge Nursing Center. Her husband of 61 years, Henry R. " Ray " Howard died in 1999.

She leaves two sons, John D. " Dan " Howard of Grafton, Mass. and Jay H. Howard of Millbury, Mass.; one sister, Helen Rhodes of Deep River, N.J.; five grandchildren; and a great-granddaughter.

She was born and raised in Enosburg Falls, the daughter of Harrison and Gala ( Hadd ) Benoit and she lived in Grafton, Mass. for over 50 years.

Mrs. Howard was a member of The Evangelical Congregational United Church of Christ, it's Women's Guild and she worked in the church Thrift Shop for many years. She was a 1933 graduate of Enosburg Vermont High School.

Graveside services will be held Friday, May 31, at 10 a.m. in Fairview Cemetery, Providence Road in South Grafton, Mass. A memorial service will be held Friday, May 31, at 11 a.m. in The Evangelical Congregational United Church of Christ, 30 Grafton Common, Grafton Center.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to The Evangelical Congregational United Church of Christ, 30 Grafton Common, Grafton, Mass. 01519. Funeral arrangements are with The Robert C. Roney Funeral Home, 152 Worcester St. North Grafton, Mass.

NATT L. DIVOLL JR.

ROCKINGHAM -- There will be a memorial service for Natt L. Divoll Jr., 88, of Rockingham Hill Road, who died Feb. 11, 2002. The service will be held 2 p.m. Sunday, June 2, at the Rockingham Meeting House.
