HARMAN, Va. -- Donald W. Webb, 70, died Wednesday, Jan. 22, 1997, in Buchanan General Hospital.
He was a native of Pike County, Ky., and had lived in Buchanan County most of his life.
He was a member of Bull Creek Old Regular Baptist Church.
He was a member of Grundy IOOF Lodge No. 17, and had served in the U.S. Army during World War II attaining the rank of staff sergeant.
He was a member of John Ratliff Post No. 164 of the American Legion and was a member of Childs Gentry Post No. 7360 of the veterans of Foreign Wars.
He was a retired employee of Harman Mining Company and was a member of United Mine Workers of America Local Union No. 7025.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Jettie Deel Webb; three daughters, Mrs. Ron (Peggy) Stacy, Lynn Webb, both of Grundy, and Sandy Hatfield, Laurel, Md.; one son, John Edd Deel, Harman; two sisters, Mrs. Edd (Louise) Conley, Grundy, and his twin, Mrs. Don (Rita) Looney, Bristol, Virginia; two brothers, Eugene Webb, Grundy, and Ronnie Webb, Manassas, Va.; five grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Owen S. Anderson
MENDOTA, VA. -- Owen Stuart "O.S." Anderson, 92, died Thursday, Jan. 23, 1997, in Indian Path Hospital.
He was a native of Washington County, Va. and was of the Baptist faith.
He was a member of Odd Fellows Lodge No. 170, Gate City, a member of Catlett Lodge No. 35 AF&AM and a member of the Modern Woodmen of America, Appalachia, Va. for 75 years.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mollie Kate
Smith Anderson.
Survivors include one daughter, Mary Rosalie Newton, Mendota; two sons, Muriel S. Anderson, Tucson, Ariz., and Cliff Anderson, Lady Lake, Fla.; one sister, Bessie Sproles, Bristol, Virginia, eight grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Doris R. Baldwin
BAPTIST VALLEY, Va. -- Mrs. Doris Ruth Baldwin, 50, died Thursday, Jan. 23, 1997, in a Richlands hospital.
She was a native of Virginia and had lived in the Baptist Valley area most of her life.
She attended Riverside United Methodist Church, North Tazewell.
Survivors include her husband, John A. Baldwin; two daughters, Mrs. Timothy (Dorothy) Ward, West Liberty, Ky., and Mrs. Sean (Tracy) Mackey, Richlands; two sons, John A. Baldwin Jr. of the home, and Richard E. Baldwin, Baptist Valley; her mother, Mrs. Marie Matherly, Richlands; one sister, Ms. Mary Meadows, Bristol, Tennessee; three brothers, Avery Lynch and James Matherly, both of Bristol, Virginia and William "Bill" Matherly, Richlands; and five grandchildren.

Monroe Dotson
HONAKER -- Monroe Dotson, 90, died Friday, Jan. 24, 1997, in Russell County Medical Center.
He was a lifelong resident of Russell County and was a retired employee of the Russell County School Board.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Audra Mae Dotson.
He was a member of Cleveland United Methodist Church and a member of the Cleveland Masonic Lodge.
Survivors include three daughters, Beatrice Alderson, Warren, Mich., Shirley Fields, Oklahoma City, Okla., and Betty Barker, Lebanon; three sons, Charles Dotson, Lebanon, Robert Dotson, Oklahoma City, Okla., and Monroe Archie Dotson, Honaker; 20 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; and eight great, great grandchildren.

Estelle P. Goodman
Estelle B. Phillips Goodman, 82, of 103 Hickory Road, Bristol, Tenn., died Friday, Jan. 24, 1997, in Bristol Nursing Home.
She was a lifelong resident of Bristol and was the widow of Harold L. Goodman.
She retired from the former Grey's Hosiery Mill after 32 years of service.
She was of the Methodist faith.
Survivors include three nieces, Wanda L. Fleenor, Bristol, Tennessee and Louise B. Bell and Joan Lindamood, both of Bluff City.

Bruce A. Leonard
Bruce A. Leonard, 58, of 2909 Broad St., Bristol, Tenn., died Friday, Jan. 24, 1997, in Bristol Regional Medical Center.
He was a native of Washington County, Va., and a lifelong resident of the Bristol area.
He was an employee of the Bristol, Virginia Housing Authority in the maintenance department.
He was also a member of Victory Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Margie DeFriece Leonard; one son, Bruce A. "Buddy" Leonard, Bristol, Virginia; three daughters, Kathy Ann Kelly, Bristol, Virginia, Robin Annette Hall, St. Paul, and Diane Phipps, Bristol, Tennessee; five sisters, Betty Bott and Shirley Poore, both of Abingdon, Barbara Hooker, Richmond, Wanda King, Bumpas, Va., Nancy DeFriece, Bristol, Tennessee; three brothers, Allen Leonard and Wilburn Leonard, both of Bristol, Virginia, Bobby Leonard, Abingdon; two grandsons; four granddaughters; and several nieces and nephews.

ABINGDON -- The Rev. John Decatur McGhee Jr., 77, of 17041 Bryce Lane, died Thursday, Jan. 23, 1997 at his home.
He had lived most of his life in the Bristol area and was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving in World War II.
He attended Graham Bible College, was nominated and received an honorary doctorate of theology for bi-vocational ministers from Andersonville Seminary, Camilia, Ga. in 1992.
He pastored several churches in this area from 1956 until 1995 and founded the Central Baptist Church, Abingdon.
He retired from the Sullivan County School System and was a member of Holston Valley Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Jewell Barrett McGhee; two sons, Thomas McGhee, Midlothian, Texas and Bill McGee, Bluff City; one daughter, Mary Stevens, Bluff City; five brothers, Gray McGhee, Miller, Md., Joe "Warren" McGhee,
Johnson City, Bill McGhee, Erie, Pa., Leon McGhee and Bobby McGhee, both of Abingdon; three sisters, June Young, Oak Ridge, Tenn., Leona Moore and Sandra Estes, both of Baltimore, Md.; 18 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

CLINTWOOD -- Joseph Calvin Mullins, 79, died Thursday, Jan. 23, 1997, in Dickenson County Medical Center, Clintwood.
He was a lifelong resident of Dickenson County, a retired coal miner and a member of UMWA Local No. 8332 District 28.
He was a veteran of World War II having served in the United States Army.
Survivors include his wife, Carrie Lee Mullins; one daughter, Priscilla Owens, New Mexico; three sons, Eddie Ralph Mullins and Gallie Joe Mullins, both of Fredericksburg, and Ellis Ray Mullins, Faithful, N.C.

CLINTWOOD -- Ralph Mullins, 75, died Wednesday, Jan. 22, 1997, in Dickenson County Medical Center.
He was a lifelong resident of Dickenson County and was of the Freewill Baptist faith.
He was a World War II veteran having served in the United States Navy.
Survivors include three sisters, Lessie Mullins Stanley and Jessie Mullins, both of Clintwood, and Maxie Linkous, Charlottesville; and several nieces and nephews.

Earl Neatherly
MOUNTAIN CITY -- Earl Neatherly, 88, of Route 5, died Friday, Jan. 24, 1997 in
Johnson City Medical Center Hospital.
He was a native of
Johnson County and was preceded in death by his wife, Lillian Curry Neatherly.
He was a charter member of
Johnson County Historical Society, a veteran of the U.S. Navy, a Mason, a Shriner, a member of the American Legion, a member of the Neva Ruritan Club and a member of the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church.
Survivors include four sisters, Marjorie Stump, Mabel Gentry and Mary Barker, all of Mountain City, and Peggy Fleenor, Bristol, Virginia.
