Earnest J. Emmert
Earnest James "Tony" Emmert, 96, of 618 Portsmouth Ave., Bristol, Va., died Sunday, Jan. 19, 1997, in Bristol Regional Medical Center.
He was a lifelong resident of Bristol, Virginia and was preceded in death by his wife, Cordia L. Chapman Emmert.
He was employed by Dixie Tannery for 33 years, Smiths Greenhouse for 25 years and retired from Spars Greenhouse after being employed several years.
He was a member of Reynolds Memorial United Methodist Church.
Survivors include one daughter, Alpha E. "Teeny" Carter, Bristol, Virginia; one son, Donald L. Emmert, Bristol, Virginia; 16 grandchildren; several great grandchildren; several great-great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Doug Flick Sr.
Andrew Douglas "Doug" Flick Sr., 75, of 425 Beidleman Road, Bristol, Tenn., died Monday, Jan. 20, 1997, in Wellmont Hospice House.
He was a native of Sullivan County, a retired construction superintendent, a member of Eastern Heights Presbyterian Church, a 50 year member of King Masonic Lodge No. 461, a 32nd degree Scottish Rite Mason and a member of Jericho Shrine Temple.
He was also a World War II Navy veteran.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Jane Owen Flick; three daughters, Patsy Pearce, Raleigh, N.C., Wayne Schmidt, Albion, Ind., and Elaine Edwards, Bristol, Tennessee; two sons, Andrew Douglas Flick Jr., High Point, N.C., and James D. Flick, Kernersville, N.C.; three sisters, Margaret Gillespie, Carol Gilfillin and Joan Jones, all of Bristol, Tennessee; five brothers, Vernon Flick, James Flick Jr., Donald Flick, Jackie Flick, all of Bristol, Tennessee, and Freddie Flick, Crossville, Tenn.; 11 grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Bessie B. Hall
DUNGANNON -- Mrs. Bessie B. Hall, 87, of Hagan Manor Apartments, died Saturday, Jan. 18, 1997, at her home.
She was a native of Virginia and was the widow of Jerry Hall.
Survivors include one son, George Hall, Dungannon; one daughter, Wilma McBee, Dungannon; eight grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

Gladys D. Hubbard
WISE -- Gladys Dotson Hubbard, 75, died Monday, Jan. 20, 1997, at her home.
She was the widow of E.R. "Tige" Hubbard.
She was a former employee of Wise County School System and attended Trinity United Methodist Church, Wise.
Survivors include two daughters, Wanda Gardner, Norton, and Dianna Anderson, Georgetown, S.C.; one son, Kenneth Hubbard, Trade, Tenn.; two brothers, Roscoe Dotson, Bristol, Virginia, and
Carter Dotson, Cleveland, Ohio; nine grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

Roy J. Osborne
COEBURN -- Roy James Osborne, 94, died Sunday, Jan. 19, 1997, at his residence.
He was a lifelong resident of Coeburn and attended Cherry Grove Freewill Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Sarah Elizabeth McReynolds Osborne.
Survivors include three sons, Max Osborne, Burnsville, Pa., Neil Osborne and Lee Osborne, both of Coeburn; four daughters, Joyce Boyd, Abingdon, Shirley White, Bristol, Virginia, Rita Dotson and Irene Osborne, both of Coeburn; one brother, John Osborne, North Carolina; ten grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

ABINGDON -- Miss Annie R. Sipes, 56, died Sunday, Jan. 19, 1997, in the Wellmont Hospice House, Bristol, Tennessee.
She was a native of Washington County where she lived most of her life.
Survivors include three brothers, James Sipes Jr., Abingdon, Kirby Sipes, Meadowview, and Johnny Sipes, Heathsville, Va.; two sisters, Shelia Thomas, Abingdon, and Mary Beaulieu, Meadowview; and several nieces and nephews.

GREENEVILLE, Tenn. -- Dorothy J. Upchurch, 77, died Sunday, Jan. 12, 1997, in Laughlin Memorial Hospital, Greeneville.
She was a member of Asbury United Methodist Church and the Senior Citizens Group. She was a former member of the choir.

Johnson Club, the Gardener's Guild, the Tuesday Book Club, and the Greene County Fair Board.
Survivors include her husband, Oliver L. Upchurch Sr.; two sons, Oliver L. Upchurch, Grundy, Ronald Upchurch, Chattanooga; two daughters, Janet Smith, Lebanon, Tenn., Linda Holley, Cincinnati, Ohio; one sister, Margaret Pierce, Bowling Green, Ky.; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

LEBANON -- William C. "Tip" Warner, 35, of the
Green Valley community, died Monday, Jan. 20, 1997, at his home.
He was a lifelong resident of Russell County and a farmer, real estate developer and timber broker.
He attended the
Green Valley Baptist Church.
Survivors include his mother, Mrs. Rachel Duty Warner, Lebanon; one sister, Mrs. Johnny B. (Debbie) Jessee Jr., Lebanon; his grandmother, Mrs. Nannie Belle Warner, Lebanon; one nephew; one niece; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.

DUFFIELD -- Clyde Brickey, 85, died Monday, Jan. 20, 1997, in Holston Valley Hospital and Medical Center.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Lola Mae Brickey.
He was a native of Dorchester, Va., and a former resident of Norton and had resided in Duffield for several years.
He was a member and deacon of the Faith Freewill Baptist Church, Duffield.
He was a former grocery store owner in Ramsey, Va., and was a retired coal miner for Highsplint Mining Company.
Survivors include three brothers, Willard Brickey, Norton, Henry Brickey, Waldorf, Md., and Thomas Brickey, Yeoman, Ind.; three sisters, Edith Owens, Kingsport, Goldie Cooke, Norton, and Pearl Holbrook, Louisville, Ohio.

Henrietta Campbell
Henrietta W. Campbell, 85, of NHC Health Care Center, Bristol, Va., died Sunday, Jan. 19, 1997.
She was the widow of Joseph W. Campbell.
She was a native of Newark, N.J.
She had served on the session of St. Cloud Presbyterian Church, West Orange, N.J., and was a past president and treasurer of the Women's Association at St. Cloud Presbyterian Church. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Bristol where she had served as assistant treasurer of the church.
She had been a past treasurer and a member of Bristol Memorial Hospital Auxillary.
Survivors include one niece, Mrs. Maxine Krall, Las Vegas, Nev.
