Oliver B. Rasnake
LEBANON -- Oliver B. Rasnake, 68, of the Hansonville area of Route 3, died Thursday, Jan. 2, 1997, in a Lebanon hospital.
He was a native of Drill, Va., and had lived in the Hansonville area for the past two years, moving there from Cleveland, Va.
He attended Mt. Zion Free Will Baptist Church on Big A Mountain and was a retired coal miner, having worked for Clinchfield Coal Company for over 20 years.
He was a member of the United Mine Workers of America.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Geanette Crabtree Rasnake; three daughters, Mrs. Ray (Blendia) Bostic and Mrs. Herman (Lois) Harris, both of Council, Va., and Mrs. Ralph (Edna Ruth) Hall, Lebanon; one son, Oliver K. Rasnake, of the home; two sisters, Mrs. Bonnie Sizemore, Cleveland, Va., and Mrs. Mona Moser, Chesapeake, Va.; one brother, Cecil Rasnake, Ft. Pierce, Fla., and four grandchildren.

Paul George Rosenfeld, 66, of Bristol Virginia, died Friday, Jan. 3, 1997, in Bristol Regional Medical Center.

Mrs. Georgia Kate Scott, 86, of Bristol Virginia, died Thursday, Jan. 2, 1997, in Bristol Regional Medical Center.
She was a native of Washington County and had lived in Bristol for many years.
She was an active member of Woodlawn Baptist Church, Bristol Tennessee, and was the widow of James Allison Scott Sr.
Survivors include two sons, James A. Scott Jr., Denver, N.C., and Robert C. Scott, Mount Holly, N.C.; one daughter, Betty Jo Carrier, Abingdon; eight grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

CHRISTIANSBURG, Va. -- Mary June Meade Sears, 62, of 2204 Gate Road, died Thursday, Jan. 2, 1997, at her home.
She was of the Baptist faith.
She was the widow of Leonard L. "Pete" Sears.
Survivors include two daughters, Rebecca S. Reid, Christiansburg, and Deborah S. Vaughn, Roanoke; four sisters, Mrs. Jim (Joyce) Sawyers and Ms. Henrietta Bolling, both of Pound, Mrs. Earl D. (Barbara) Short, and Mrs. C.E. (Bonnie) Slone, both of Norton; two brothers, Watson Meade and Jeff Meade, both of Pound; seven grandchildren; five step-grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

MARION -- Laura H. Steele, 73, died Thursday, Jan. 2, 1997, in Valley Health Care Center, Chilhowie.
She was a native of Smyth County and the widow of William O. Steele.
She was a member of Russell's Chapel.
She was employed at the Superior Mills in Chilhowie as a supervisor for several years and had worked as a nurse's aid at Smyth County Health Department.
Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Jerry (Pat) Barr and Mrs. Hurley (Brenda) Davis Jr., both of Marion; two sisters, Pauline Hash, Baltimore, Md. and Louise Barker, Marion; three grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Ethel "Nora" Grindstaff Sturm, 82, of Bristol Tennessee, died Friday, Jan. 3, 1997, at her home.

William Hugh Worley, 86, of Bristol Virginia died Friday, Jan. 3, 1997, in Johnston Memorial Hospital.
He was a lifelong resident of Washington County and a member of the Fleenor's Memorial Methodist and Baptist churches.
He was a retired carpenter.

Guy M. Bickley
Guy McNeer Bickley, 67, of 508 Pearl St., Bristol, Va., died Thursday, Jan. 2, 1997 in DVA Medical Center, Mountain Home, Tenn.
He was a native of Castlewood and had lived in Kingsport before moving to Bristol.
He was a retired self-employed coal operator, a member of VFW Patton-Crosswhite Post 6975, attended Fellowship Chapel and was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War.
Survivors include his wife, Mildred C. Bickley; one daughter, Mary Bickley Clark, Bristol Tennessee; one son, Daniel Guy Bickley, Fredericksburg, Va.; one stepson, Robert Edward Seals, Shady Valley; three sisters, Carolyn Farrier, Newport News, Va., Nell Lonon, St. Paul, and Joyce Minor, Blountville; two brothers, W.O. Bickley, Castlewood, and Jack Bickley, Blountville; two grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
