Amy D. Coleman
EDEN, N.C. -- Amy Lee Dalton Coleman, 76, of 348 Floyd Road, Eden, died Tuesday, May 16, 2006, at her home.
She was born in Carroll County, Va., to Henry Shaffer and Sally Rose Dalton. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Lonnie Dalton, Emmett Dalton and Bruce Dalton; and two sisters, Lestie Grube and Leone Clark.
She was a member of the First Pentecostal Holiness Church and was a retired cook at Debbie's Restaurant in Stoneville.
Surviving are her husband, James William Coleman of the home; two daughters, Dorothy Ellington of Stoneville and Donna Goggin of Mason, Ohio; two sons, Barry Coleman of Greensboro and Jimmy Coleman of Ridgeway, Va..; two sisters, Lila Mott of Eden and Lela Pasquariello of Bland, W.Va.; nine grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at Fair Funeral Home with burial in Stoneville City Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. today at Fair Funeral Home, and other times at the home.
Memorials may be made to Hospice of Rockingham County, P.O. Box 281, Wentworth, N.C. 27375, or to First Pentecostal Holiness Church, 200 Moir St., Eden, N.C. 27288.

Freddie Flood
Freddie Flood, 58, of 101 Endless St., Martinsville, died Tuesday, May 1`7, 2006, in Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital.
Hairston Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Edna J. Martin
The funeral for Edna Irene Jones Martin, 79, of Easton, Md., and formerly of Dillons Fork in Henry County, was held Wednesday at Valley Drive Baptist Church with the Rev. Bobby Rakes officiating. Burial was in Roselawn Burial Park.
Pallbearers were Donnie Wall, Richard Billman, Russell Billman, Marty Martin, Timmy Marshall and Harold Jones.
Collins Funeral Services in Bassett was in charge of arrangements.

Robert E. Grose
Robert Eugene Grose, 51, of Martinsville, died Wednesday, May 31, 2006, at Memorial Hospital of Martinsville and Henry County.
He was the husband of Veller Marie Grose of the home.
Bassett Funeral Service is in charge of arrangements.

Paul E. McCraw
Paul Edward McCraw, 60, of 475 Mockingbird Lane, Bassett, died Wednesday, May 31, 2006, at Memorial Hospital in Martinsville, after a lengthy illness.
He was born on Sept. 15, 1945, in Bassett, to Robert Glenn McCraw who died Feb. 12, 1996, and Beadie Ella Rorrer McCraw, who died in May of 1999.
McCraw retired from the Henry County School system, and had been a member of the Bassett Church of the Brethren for 40 years. He was a volunteer with the Fieldale Volunteer Fire Department before transferring to the Bassett Volunteer Fire Department 10 years ago.
Surviving are his wife, Patricia Lynn McCraw of the home; a son, Robert Randall "Randy" McCraw of the home; two sisters, Shirley Frances Turner and Betty Jean Boyd, both of Bassett; and a brother, Wayne Lewis McCraw of Martinsville.
The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Collins Funeral Chapel with Pastor Harry Shelton and the Rev. Gary Edwards officiating.
The family is receiving friends at the home of his sister, Shirley Turner on Mockingbird Lane, will be at Collins Funeral Services from noon until time for the service Saturday.
Contributions may be made to the Paul McCraw Funeral Expense Fund, P.O. Box 1337, Bassett, Va. 24055.

Byron K. Taylor
Byron Keith Taylor, 24, of 605 Peach Orchard Drive, Brown Summit, N.C., and formerly of Martinsville, died Tuesday, May 30, 2006, at his home.
He was born in Martinsville on Sept. 3, 1981, to Robert Taylor of Ridgeway and Patricia Hairston Ziglar of Martinsville.
He had served in the Air Force and had worked at Warren Trucking company for three months. He was a member of Oak Hill Cathedral of Glory.
Surviving in addition to his father and mother, are his wife, Latiffia J. Taylor of the home; two brothers, Twan Lowe and Richard Taylor, both of Martinsville; two sisters, Robin Reid of Greensboro, N.C. and Marcie Smith of Martinsville; paternal grandmother, Annie Taylor of Martinsville; and step-maternal grandfather, Robert Holland of Ridgeway.
The funeral will be held a 3 p.m. Sunday at the Pentecostal Assembly Building with Elder Perry Webster officiating. Burial will be in Carver Memorial Gardens.
Friends are being received at the home of his mother at 945 Summit Road, Martinsville, and the home of his mother-in-law at 133 Linda Drive, Brown Summit.
Hines Funeral Services in Martinsville is in charge of arrangements.

Alice M. Cox
Died Friday, September 7, 2007

The graveside service for Alice Faye Morris Cox, 89, of 1310 South Askin St., Martinsville, who died, Sept. 7, 2007, was held Sunday at Roselawn Burial Park with the Rev. Joseph E. Hamilton and Jimmy Eanes officiating.

Pallbearers were Gary Chitwood, Lannie Chitwood, Elmo Herndon, Jimmy Eanes, Mark Martin, Tim Morris and David Morris.

Norris Funeral Services was in charge of the arrangements.

Gracie V. East
Died Saturday, September 8, 2007

Gracie Vipperman East, 82, of Vipperman Avenue, Stuart, died Saturday, Sept. 8, 2007, at Blue Ridge Nursing Center.

She was born Sept. 4, 1925, in Patrick County to Noah Vipperman and Tildie Pack Vipperman. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Sam Junior East; two sisters, Mindy Hiatt and Elsie Queen; and five brothers, Elzie Vipperman, John Vipperman, Jim Vipperman, Joe Vipperman and William Vipperman.

She retired from R.J. Reynolds Patrick County Memorial Hospital in the housekeeping department and was a member of Patrick Springs Church of God of Prophecy.

Surviving are her husband, Sam East of the home; two grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Abiding Grace Church with Pastors Dale Bailey, Jim Vipperman and J.R. Vipperman officiating. Burial will be in the Hooker family cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 7 until 9 p.m. today at the church.

Moody Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
