Coleman
Jennie Lee Campbell Coleman, age 65, died Saturday, June 7, 1997 at her home in Damascus.
Survivors include her husband, James L. Coleman; one daughter, Denise Roane, Richmond; one stepson, Greg Coleman, Kingsport, Tenn.; one brother, Eugene Campbell, Hagerstown, Md.; two sisters, Josephine Howlett, Richmond, and Pearl Hanley, Rural Retreat; two grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday, June 12, in
Williams Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Mike Bowling and the Rev. William Austin officiating. Burial will be in the Chilhowie Cemetery. The family will receive friends tonight from 7 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Evans
Dorothy Ritchie Evans, age 80, of Damascus, died Thursday, June 5, 1997 at her home.
She was a lifelong resident of Washington County and was the widow of Charles R. Evans. She was preceded in death by a son, Kenneth M. Evans.
She is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Robert (Janice) McConnell of Hickory, N.C.; three sisters, Elizabeth Edmondson of Damascus, Ellen Dunn of Abingdon, and June Nelson of Piney Flats, Tenn.; three grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
Graveside services were conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday, June 8, at Sunset Memorial Park with the Rev. Warren M. Wilson officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be sent to Wright Chapel United Methodist Church, 21651 Monroe Road, Damascus, VA 24236.

Holliday
Harry E. Holliday, age 71, of Damascus, died Monday, June 9, 1997 in Johnston Memorial Hospital in Abingdon.
He was a lifelong resident of Washington County and a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II. He was a retired farmer and was of the Methodist faith.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Catherine McCann Holliday.
Survivors include four daughters, Cheryl Kimberlin, Mickie Ryan and Sandy Smith, all of Damascus, and Kay Sheets, Mechanicsville; four sons, Tony Holliday, Tom Holliday and Bill Holliday, all of Damascus, and Gary Holliday, Lebanon; one sister, Margaret Puckett, Meadowview; one brother, Fred Holliday, Saltville; nine grandchildren; one great-grandson; several nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be conducted at 2 p.m. today, June 11, at Zion Cemetery with the Rev. Leonard
Smith officiating.

Luck
Harvey Luck, age 83, of Damascus, died Tuesday, June 3, 1997 in Bristol Regional Medical Center.
He was a native of Prince William County and had lived in Damascus for the past seven years. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving during World War II. He was owner and operator of Luck & Albrite Plumbing and was a member of the VFW in Manassas. He was of the Baptist faith.
He is survived by several nieces and nephews.
Graveside services were conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday, June 5, in the National Memorial Park, Falls Church, with the Rev. Gregory Loewer officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be sent to the American Cancer Society, 167 E. Main St., Abingdon, VA 24210.

McFarlane
William Jennings McFarlane Jr., age 69, died Saturday, June 7, 1997 in Bristol Regional Medical Center.
Mr. McFarlane was a native of Wythe County but had lived most of his life in Smyth County. He was retired from the Southwestern Virginia State Hospital with more than 32 years of service.
He was a member of the Freedom Tabernacle Baptist Church where he served as a deacon and was also a member of the Gideons International.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and an honorary lifetime member of the Francis Marion VFW Post 4667. He was also an avid fisherman, hunter and woodworker.
Survivors include his wife, Laura E. McFarlane; one daughter, Mrs. Ronald (Donna) VanHoy, Marion; two sons, Dennis G. McFarlane and William Douglas McFarlane, both of Marion; two brothers, Troy McFarlane, Marion, and Eugene McFarlane, Kingsport, Tenn.; two sisters, Mrs. Paul (Dorothy) Eller, Salem, and Nora Painter, Charleston, S.C.; six grandchildren, one great-grandchild, several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were conducted Monday, June 9, at 2 p.m. in Freedom Tabernacle Baptist Church with the Rev. Mike Sage and the Rev. Bob Steele officiating. Interment followed in the Roselawn Cemetery.

Carolyn Rhea Norris Mutter, age 52, died Monday, June 9, 1997 in
Johnson City Medical Center Hospital,
Johnson City, Tenn. She was a native of Washington County and a resident of Mountain City, Tenn., for the past seven years.
Survivors include four sons, Sammy Wayne Mutter, Charles Ray Mutter, both of Glade Spring, Vance Alexander Mutter, Bristol, Tenn., and Hallie O'Dale Mutter, Atkins; one brother, Clifford Norris, Shepardsville, Ky.; one sister, Minnie Norris, Mountain City, Tenn.; one grandchild, Meaghan Nicole Mutter; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, June 12, at 11 a.m. in

Jones and the Rev. Tommy Wilson officiating. Burial will be in Kelly's Chapel Cemetery, Glade Spring. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. tonight at the funeral home.

Walford J.C. Price, age 78, of Bristol, Tenn., died Friday, June 6, 1997 in Bristol Regional Medical Center.
He was a native of Roanoke and had lived in Bristol most of his life. He was a member of Westhighlands Church and a Navy veteran of World War II. He was a former employee of Monroe Corporation and former owner of Exit 4 Phillips 66 Service Station.
Survivors include his wife, Naomi Price; two daughters, Mrs. Cary (Teresa) Fulwider, Bristol, Tenn., and Mrs. Glenn (Holly) Dudley, Ellicott City, Md.; one sister, Dorothy Frye, Broadford; three brothers, Douglas Price, Chilhowie, Jim D. Price, Saltville, and Robert "Bob" Price, Glade Spring, six grandchildren.
Funeral services were conducted at 8 p.m. Sunday, June 8, in Westhighlands Church with the Rev. J. Samuel Rasnake officiating. Committal service was conducted at 2 p.m. Monday, June 9, in the Veterans Administration National Cemetery, Mountain Home, Tenn. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Westhighlands Church, 2222 Volunteer Parkway, Bristol, Tenn. 37620.

Farris
A. C. Farris, age 82, of Newport News, died Tuesday, June 10, 1997 in Riverside Hospital. He was a native of Saltville and had lived most of his life in Newport News.
Survivors include his wife, Nancy Farris; one brother, Paul W. Farris, Saltville; two nephews, Donald Smith, Saltville, and Rodney Farris, Abingdon.
