Blankenship
Ralph E. Blankenship, age 74, of Clinchburg, died Sunday, April 6, 1997 in Wellmont Hospice House, Bristol, Tenn. He was preceded in death by one sister, Beulah B. Stephenson.
He was a U.S. Air Force veteran of World War II, serving in the Philippines and was a member of the Mahanaim United Methodist Church.
He was a retired postmaster and a retired employee of the U.S. Gypsum Company.
Survivors include his wife, Regina Grady Blankenship; three daughters, Mrs. Gale (Kay) Maiden, Mrs. Mike (Sheila) Heldreth and Karen Blankenship, all of Clinchburg; two brothers, Paul V. Blankenship, Bradenton, Fla., and Herbert W. Blankenship, Clinchburg; two granddaughters, Krista Maiden, Clinchburg, and Jill Howard, Nashville, Tenn.; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted today, April 9, at 2 p.m. in the Mahanaim United Methodist Church with the Rev. David Mumpower, the Rev. Harry Tindell, Dr. Jack Garland and the Rev. Glenda Dennison officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery with military rites conducted by Saltville VFW Post 7328. Memorial contributions may be made to Wellmont Hospice, 280 Steele's Road, Bristol, Tenn. 37620, or to the Saltville Rescue Squad.

Blevins
Betty Charlotte Blevins, age 86, of Damascus, died Sunday, April 6, 1997 in Johnston Memorial Hospital in Abingdon.
She was a lifelong resident of Washington County and a homemaker. She was the widow of Boyce O'Dell Blevins and was of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include two sons, Junior Hamilton Blevins, Bristol, and Bill D. Armstrong, Glade Spring; two sisters, Ann Wilson, Damascus, and Marie Potter, Boone, N.C.; two grandchildren, Charlotte Leah Blevins, Atlanta, Ga., and Eric Scott Blevins, Bristol; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. today, April 9, in
Johnson Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Roger Boyer officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Park, Damascus.

Corvin
Lonnie P. Corvin, age 93, of Wytheville, died Friday, April 4, 1997 in Evansham Manor.
He was the son of the late Posey and Ida Eversole Corvin. He was a member of the Galilee Christian Church and was a member of the Independent Order of Odd Fellows for 65 years. He was preceded in death by his first wife in 1937; two daughters in 1985 and 1986; three brothers and one sister.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Mary Ella Spraker Corvin of Wytheville; one daughter, Doris Prizznick of Bakersfield, Calif.; three sons and daughters-in-law, Preston and Nancy Corvin of Marion, Cecil and Becky Corvin of Ellabell, Ga., and Eddie and Lynne Corvin of Missouri City, Texas; 20 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Monday, April 7, at 2 p.m. in the Grubb Funeral Home Chapel conducted by Rev. Robert Peterson with interment in the Galilee Christian Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Wythe County Rescue Squad.

William Richard "Bud" and "Scrap Iron" Holmes, age 52, died Saturday, April 5, 1997 in Heritage Hospital, Taylor, Mich. He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Beulah.
Survivors include his wife, Sharon Pitt; three sons, Richard, Donald and David; four sisters, Louise, Rita, Cathy and Linda; four brothers, Bob, Jerry, Jim and Jeff; two grandchildren, Shane and Amber; one daughter-in-law, Lisa; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. today, April 9, in the D.R. Henderson Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Benny Frye and the Rev. R.L. "Popeye" Frye officiating. Burial will be in the Elizabeth Cemetery.

Viola Hall Johnson, age 78, of Sugar Grove, died Sunday, April 6, 1997 in Smyth County Community Hospital.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Lee Roy Johnson; one daughter, Peggy Ann Johnson; her father and mother, John Wesley and Alice Parks Hall; two sisters, Okie Mae Keys and Lettie Hall

Callie Shelton Lindsey, age 74, died Monday, April 7, 1997 in Smyth County Community Hospital. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ernest E. Lindsey.
Mrs. Lindsey was a member of the Ebenezer Lutheran Church and was the operator of the Downtown Cafe for 13 years.
She is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Ruth and Joe Reeves of Marion; one son and daughter -in-law, Charles and Susan Lindsey of Marion; one sister, Texie Hughes of Marion; one brother, Manuel Shelton of Blountville, Tenn.; two grandchildren, Ernie and Chris Lindsey, both of Marion; three step-grandchildren, Vickie Kirk, Lisa Snider, and Steve Reeves; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, April 10, at 11 a.m. at the Ebenezer Lutheran Church with Pastor James H. Bangle officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Lawn Cemetery. Morgan
William A. "Bill" Morgan, age 80, died Friday, April 4, 1997 at his home in Marion.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mildred Creasey Morgan; three sisters and one brother.
Mr. Morgan was owner and operator of the Summit Drive-In Theater in Glade Spring for 35 years and also operated the Summit Auto Auction.
He is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Bob and Jean Morgan of Marion; one grandson, Alan Morgan and wife, Tracy of Marion; two great-grandchildren, Corey and Courtney Morgan; a very special friend, Emma Jo Terry of Chilhowie.
