Robinson
James Walter Robinson, 92, died Monday, March 24, 1997 in the Valley Health Care Center, Chilhowie.
He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, a retired farmer and a member of the Friendship Baptist Church.
Survivors include one sister, Gladys R. Frye, Glade Spring; several nieces and nephews.
Graveside services were conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday, March 26, in the Mount Olivet Cemetery, Glade Spring, with the Rev. Paul
Jones officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Friendship Baptist Church.

Routh
Robert "Bob" Routh, 63, died Wednesday, March 26, 1997 in Smyth County Community Hospital.
Born Jan. 29, 1934 in Saltville, he was a graduate of Marion Senior High School and served in the United States Navy. He was employed at Brunswick Corporation for 35 years. He was preceded in death by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Malcolm Routh and his wife, Betty Testerman Routh.
He is survived by three brothers, William Routh and James Routh, both of Marion, and Dewey Routh of Jacksonville, Fla.; three sisters, Marie Crispin of Atlanta, Ga., Eleanor Thomas of Marion, and Linda Finley of Orange Park, Fla.; several nieces and nephews including a very special nephew, Kevin Routh.
Funeral services will be held today, March 29, at 2 p.m. at Seaver-
Brown Chapel with the Rev. Mike Sage officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Lawn Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Doug Duncan, Bill Testerman, Doug Testerman, Bob Harris, James Testerman, and Earl Thomas.

Campbell
John Buchanan Campbell Sr., age 78, died Sunday, March 30, 1997 in Vencor Hospital, Greensboro, N.C.
Mr. Campbell was a member of the Royal Oak Presbyterian Church and a former member and elder of the Rich Valley Presbyterian Church. He was a prominent Rich Valley farmer.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Frances Campbell of Marion; two daughters, Peggy Emery of San Antonio, Texas and Lynn Robinson of Rural Retreat; three sons, John B. Campbell Jr. of Roanoke, David P. Campbell of Richmond, and Hal Campbell of Rich Valley; one sister, Kathryn Munroe of Knoxville, Tenn.; two brothers, Harold Campbell of Marion, and Charles Campbell of Rich Valley; 14 grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, April 1, at 2 p.m. at Rich Valley Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Rich Cardot and Dr. Sheldon Sorge officiating. Burial followed in Rich Valley Presbyterian Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Rich Valley Presbyterian Church Renovations Fund, c/o R.M. Buchanan Jr., Rt. 3, Saltville, VA 24370.

Davidson
Bessie Harper Davidson, age 92, widow of Henry Davidson, died Saturday, March 29, 1997 in Smyth County Community Hospital. She was also preceded in death by her son, Thomas Davidson; her brothers, Arch Harper and Frank Harper; and a sister, Beulah Gilbert.
She is survived by one daughter, Dorothy Helton of Marion; one son, Douglas Eugene Davidson of Wytheville; three sisters, Lizzie
Smith of Marion, Claire Jennings of Roanoke, and Blanche Maiden of Bristol; four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Graveside services were held Sunday, March 30, at 4 p.m. at Wassum Cemetery in Atkins with Dr. J.N. Howard officiating.

Fletcher
Helen White Fletcher died Friday, March 28, 1997 at Sabal Palms Health Care Center, Largo, Fla.
She was the daughter of Fayette M. White and Jacka Snider White of Marion. A graduate of Marion High School and Marion College, her first adult employment was as a teacher at Lindamood School.
Surviving are her husband, Arthur E. Fletcher, Largo, Fla.; two sisters, Eleanor Tilley, Richmond, and Dr. Carolyn Rogers, Marion.
Graveside services and interment were held at Arlington National Cemetery.

Greer
Bryant Lee Greer, infant son of Christopher Dwayne Greer and Kimberly Hope Davidson, died Thursday, March 27, 1997 in Smyth County Community Hospital.
Other survivors include one sister, Kaylee Brooke Greer of the home; one brother, Zackory Dwayne Greer of the home; his grandparents, Roger and Shelby Davidson, Saltville, and Bill and Janet Greer, Marion; his great-grandmothers, Pauline Greer and Alice Powell, both of Marion.
Graveside services were conducted at 3:30 p.m. Saturday, March 29, in Mount Pleasant Cemetery with the Rev. David Neitch officiating.

Ludowici
Lois J. Puckett Ludowici, age 53, died Friday, March 28, 1997 in Chilhowie.
She was a native of Clinchco, a graduate of Haysi High School and received a B.A. degree from Clinch Valley College, Wise. She was preceded in death by her parents, Johnny and Bertha Puckett; one brother, W.G. Puckett; one sister, Glenda Gaby.
She was a U.S. Marine veteran for 23 years retiring as Master Sergeant. She was a member of the Middle Branch Freewill Baptist Church in Nora.
Survivors include three brothers, Roger Puckett, Chilhowie, Freddy Puckett, Honaker, and Joseph Puckett, Clintwood; eight sisters, Sally Stanley, Clintwood, Peggy Brooks, Chilhowie, Gay Moats, Clinton, Md., Arlene Thompson, Sparta, N.C., Bonnie Runions, Hohenwald, Tenn., Rebecca Woods, Haysi, Pamela Puckett, Marion, and Johnnie Thompson, Rosedale; eight nieces; 10 nephews.
Funeral services were conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday, March 30, in the Middle Branch Freewill Baptist Church in Nora with the Rev. Clyde Lambert and Pastor Floyd Nelson officiating. Martin
Kermit D. Martin (Smoky and Frog), age 86, died Sunday , March 30, 1997 in Smyth County Community Hospital.
Mr. Martin was a native of Washington County. He worked at the Piggly Wiggly and Marion Wholesale Company for more than 30 years. He also worked at Barnett's Funeral Home and Simpsons Trucking Company, part time. He was preceded in death by his wife, Myrtle McGlocklin Martin.
Survivors include one daughter, Nancy M. Lowe, Marion; one granddaughter, Lucinda (Cindy) Dale Vannoy, Marion; three sisters, Elsie M. Anderson, Altona, Ill., Fern Haga, Galva, Ill., and Aileen Russell, Marion; one brother, Warren H. Martin, Chilhowie; one stepsister, Mabel B. Martin, Chilhowie; two stepbrothers, Eugene Blevins, Glade Spring, and Kenneth Blevins, Chilhowie; a special friend, Nelia Yontz of Saltville; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held today, April 2, at 11 a.m. in Barnett's Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Doug Rowland officiating. Interment followed in the Martin Family Cemetery. The family suggests in lieu of flowers, memorial donations be made to the Martin Family Cemetery Fund, c/o Grace Martin, 3800 Loves Mill Road, Chilhowie, VA 24319.

Joanne Hutton Pennington, age 48, of Chester, died Monday, March 31, 1997 in Chippenham Hospital, Richmond. She was the daughter of William Otis and the late Carrie
Johnson Hutton.
Surviving in addition to her father are her husband, Johnny E. Pennington; one son, Johnny Curtis Pennington, both of Chester; two grandchildren, Justin and Gregory Pennington; one brother and sister-in-law, William Otis Jr. and Nancy Hutton of Seven Mile Ford; her mother-in-law, Stella M. Pennington, Saltville.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, April 1, at 7 p.m. in the Hopewell Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home with the Rev. Willie Cromer, pastor of First Baptist Church, officiating.
A graveside service will be held Thursday, April 3, at 11 a.m. in Middle Fork Cemetery in Chilhowie. There will be a visitation tonight, April 2, at
