Luther Lee Withrow, 71, of King George County died Saturday, March 22, 2003, at Mary Washington Hospital.
Mr. Withrow had retired as a mechanic from VDOT in the Bowling
Green and Lady
Smith area, after 21 years of service.
He was the son of the late Delbert Lee and Mary Withrow of Cinco, W.Va.
Survivors include his wife, Patricia V. Withrow of the home; three daughters, Sharon Irene Gold
Smith of Cobb Island, Md., Charlotte Rosalie Noel of Dahlgren and Tammy Lorraine Allison of Ladysmith; a son, Patrick Lee Withrow of King George; five sisters, Maxine Bounds of Ohio, Louise Christ of Florida, Darlena Kinder of Indiana, Rosemary Mitchell of West Virginia and Almada Nottingham of Ohio; three brothers, Luster Withrow, Donald Withrow and Keith Withrow, all of Ohio; 12 grandchildren; and one great-grandson. He was preceded in death by a son, Jerry Allen Withrow.
A funeral was held Wednesday, March 26, at Nash & Slaw Funeral Home in King George. Burial was in Oakland Baptist Church cemetery in King George. The Rev. Sherman Davis officiated.

Vida Mae Thomasson, 71, of Colonial Beach died Monday, March 24, 2003, at Mary Washington Health Care Center.
She is survived by her husband of 50 years, Willie "Bill" Thomasson; four sons, Robert S. Thomasson of Florida, Ronald A. Thomasson of Lake Anna, Weldon F. Thomasson of Fredericksburg and Lawrence E. Thomasson of Crofton, Md.; her mother, Dora Cross of Thomas, W.Va.; six sisters, Doren Tilton, Judith Cottrell and Wanda Whitehair, all of Ohio, Grace Polemus of Colorado, Karen Braner of Great Falls and Lillian Markley of West Virginia; three brothers, Junior Ray Cross of Ohio, Willard E. Cross of Virginia and Charles W. Cross of Maryland; seven grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A memorial service was held Thursday, March 27, at Berea Baptist Church. The Rev. Jeff Hudgins officiated. Burial will take place at a later date.

Elizabeth Jean Jenkins 69
Elizabeth Jean Jenkins, 69, of Colonial Beach went to glory Sunday, March 30, 2003, at Mary Washington Hospital.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Dorsey and Elizabeth Drummond of Colonial Beach; a brother, James Drummond; and a sister, June Drummond.
Survivors include two brothers, Dorsey Drummond Jr. of Bushfield, and David Drummond of Colonial Beach; five children, George Edwards, James Edwards, Jeanne Edwards, Julie Marders and Joni Ferrell; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; three sisters-in-law; many nieces and nephews; and many other extended family members.
A memorial service was today at Nash & Slaw Funeral Home in Colonial Beach. Burial was in St. Peters Cemetery in Oak Grove. The Rev. Johnny Almond officiated.

Lucille M. Jordan, 76, of King George County died Wednesday, March 26, 2003, at Dahlgren after a long illness.
She was a member of Salem Baptist Church and the Kitchen Committee there.
Survivors include her husband, James Jordan of King George; seven daughters, Loretta Y. Buckner-John, Arlene D. Davis, Vernice D. Johnson, Brenda L., Leslie A., Vickie L., and Maricha L. Jordan all of Dahlgren; 10 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; three brothers, David Jett Jr. of Alexandria, Maurice E. Jett Sr. and Norman L. Jett Sr., both of Woodbridge; a stepbrother, Webster Jackson of King George; and two stepsisters, Shirley Waddy of King George and Geraldine Jackson of Dumfries.
A funeral was held Saturday, March 29, at Salem Baptist Church in Jersey. Burial was in the church cemetery. The Rev. Leonard G. Bland officiated.

Dorothy M. Burch
Dorothy Marie Burch, 85, of King George County, and formerly of Charles County, Md., died March 29, 2003, at Mary Washington Hospital.
She was a retired school teacher at Higdon Elementary School. She was a member of the Eastern Star for over 50 years and was an auxiliary member of VFW Post 4856 on the eastern shore. She was an active member of the Dahlgren United Methodist Church. She was the daughter of the late William R. and Willie Eleanor Thornes. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Richard A. Gauger and Ronald "Babe" Collinge; and her brother, Brantley Thornes.
She is survived by her husband, Joseph McQuillian Burch Jr.; her daughters, Dorothy Marie Drummond-Ryan and Alberta Hickman; her sons-in-law Lanny Ryan and Dan Hickman; her grandchildren, Jason Casebolt, Sara and Kelly Sutton, Jenna Dalmatoff, Emily and Russell Revis, and Karly and Noah Hickman.
Friends were received Sunday, March 30, 2003, at the Arehart-Echols Funeral Home, 211 St. Mary's Avenue, LaPlata, Md. from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., where services were held at 7 p.m. Graveside services were held Monday, March 31, 2003, at Liberty Cemetery in Parksley, Va., at 1:30 p.m. Memorial services will be held this evening, at the Dahlgren United Methodist Church, 17080 14th Street, Dahlgren, Va. 22448, at 7 p.m.

Martha F. Beckham 87
Martha F. Beckham, 87, of King George County died Saturday, March 29, 2003, at Mary Washington Hospital.
Born in Lewisetta, she was the daughter of the late Lloyd Otis and Mattie Cookman Forbush. She was the widow of Charles Manning Beckham. She graduated from Fredericksburg High School in 1934. She was the retired owner and operator of Martha's Beauty Shop on Caroline Street in Fredericksburg, first treasurer of the Virginia State Hairdressers Association and a former president of the Fredericksburg Hairdressers Association.
She is survived by a son, Charles Otis Beckham, and his wife, Elaine, of King George; two grandchildren, Samantha Elaine Miller and Charles Otis Beckham II, both of King George; three great-grandchildren; one brother, Charles Warren Forbush of Fredericksburg; and several nieces and nephews.
The family received friends on Tuesday, April 1, at Covenant Funeral Service. A private graveside service was held today at the family cemetery. The Rev. E.T. Bourne officiated.

Smith and his wife Ann of King George County.

A funeral was held Monday, March 24, at Mullins & Thompson Funeral Service, Fredericksburg Chapel. Interment was in Sunset Memorial Gardens. Dr. Eric F. Goforth officiated.

Harriet Virginia Rigg, 64, of King George County died Tuesday, March 18, 2003, at the University of Virginia Medical Center in Charlottesville.
She was a former cashier for Giant Food Stores in Alexandria and Fredericksburg.
She was a member of Montague Baptist Church and an active volunteer for Fox Town Adult Center in King George. She was the widow of Russell R.L. Rigg Sr.
Survivors include three daughters, Shelby Rigg of Fredericksburg, Shelly Simmons of Georgia and Glenda Kulynych of King George; three sons, Russell Rigg Jr. of King George, Jeffrey Rigg of Missouri and Scott Rigg of King George; a stepson, Randy Wilkinski of Ohio; two sisters, Mary Dant of King George and Betty Sue Leake of Arlington; a brother, James Perry; 14 grandchildren; and one great-grandson.

Ruth Virginia Morgan, 69, of King George County died Monday, March 17, 2003, at Heritage Hall Health Care in King George.
A King George native, Ms. Morgan was employed at the former Mount Rose Canning Co. for 34 years and was a member of Montague Baptist Church in King George.
Survivors include three daughters, Mary Sheets of Caroline County, Carla Ruth Murray of Anniston, Ala., and Virginia Burchell of King George; three sons, Wayne Morgan and Merrill Morgan, both of King George and James Morgan of Caroline; six sisters; two brothers; 14 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Ennis O'Toole Lewis, 76, of Fredericksburg died Tuesday, March 18, 2003, at Mary Washington Hospital. He was a former employee of he Naval Surface Warfare Center, Dahlgren Division.
Born in Fredericksburg, Mr. Lewis had retired from Billingsley Printing. He was a former employee at the FMC plant. He was a member of Shiloh Baptist Church (Old Site).
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ennis O. Lewis Sr. and Josephine Whiting.
Survivors include a sister, Rennie Lewis-Epps of Southfield, Mich.; a longtime devoted friend, Doris Darden of Fredericksburg; five cousins, Deon Pullam of St. Louis, Mo., Jared Pullam and Stacey Pullam, both of Fredericksburg, Patrina Scott-Savage of Lanham, Md., and Shay Scott of Norfolk; and a stepson, Richard H. Lewis of Tappahannock.
