Paul Edward Cutshall, 71, of Fredericksburg died at his home Thursday, March 7, 2002. He was the brother of Faye Coates of King George County. Mr. Cutshall had retired from Klotz's Salvage after 35 years. In addition to his sister of King George, Mr. Cutshall is survived by his wife, Barbara Ann Dillard Cutshall; two daughters, Nancy Wedding of Hanover and Jill Hedge of Fredericksburg; a son, Jack Cutshall of the home; another sister, Shirley Castle of Spotsylvania County; and five grandchildren. A graveside service was held Tuesday, March 12, in Sunset Memorial Gardens. The Rev. Bill Price officiated. Lucy Elizabeth Myers Digges Anderson, 84, of Colonial Beach died Wednesday, March 6, 2002, at Mary Washington Hospital. She was the widow of Willie Lee Anderson. Survivors include seven daughters, Frances Larimer of South Carolina, June Flynn of Fairfax, Georgeanna Brooks of Fredericksburg, Betty Trigger of Richmond, Mary Berline of Stafford County, Carol Williamson of King George County, and Helen Hopkins of Colonial Beach; two sons, Eddie Myers of Arlington and Michael Digges of Fredericksburg; a sister, Georgeanna Bayse of Lincolnia; a brother, Skippy McGee of Colonial Beach; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. A funeral was held Friday, March 8, at Murphy Funeral Home in Arlington. Burial was in Arlington National Cemetery. Jeanne Craig Shanklin, 52, of Dahlgren died of cancer Sunday, Feb. 24, 2002, at her home. Born in Fredericksburg, Mrs. Shanklin was an avid Redskins fan and had been employed at the Naval Surface Warfare Center, Dahlgren Division, for 32 years. Survivors include her husband, Albert L. Shanklin; a son, Kristopher W. Craig of Rappahannock Academy; her mother, Betty Motley Craig of Rappahannock Academy; a sister, Brenda C. Galyen of Fredericksburg; a niece and a nephew. A funeral was held at Thursday, Feb. 28, at Storke Funeral Home, Bowling Green. Burial was in Greenlawn Cemetery, Bowling Green. Bonnie Lee (Rash) Rainey, 54, of Woodbridge died Friday, March 1, 2002, at Potomac Hospital in Woodbridge of respiratory arrest. She was the sister of Sandy Bottoms-Wimer of King George County. In addition to her sister of King George, Mrs. Rainey is survived by her husband, Stanley Rainey of Stafford County; a daughter; three sons; her mother; and four other sisters, including Kathy Hanna of Bowling
Green and Jackie Hanna of Stafford. A funeral was held Tuesday, March 5, at Mountcastle Funeral Home in Dale City. Burial was in Greenlawn Cemetery, Bowling Green.
Larry Wayne "Honey" Jordan 47 years
Larry Wayne "Honey" Jordan, 47, of Spotsylvania County died Sunday, March 3, 2002, at his home, after a long illness. He was the brother of Bonnie Schexnayder of King George County. A native of Fredericksburg, Mr. Jordan was a self-employed excavator for over 20 years. In addition to his sister of King George, Mr. Jordan is survived by his wife, Mildred Jordan; a daughter, Terria Jordan of the home; a son, David Jordan of the home; his father, Joseph Jordan, and stepmother, of Stafford County; four other sisters, Mary Jewell, Joyce Muzzy and Betty Jewell, all of Stafford, and Joanne Busby of Florida; a brother, Joseph Jordan of Partlow; a stepsister; two stepbrothers; and two grandchildren. Ernest C. Combs, 94, of Colonial Beach died Thursday, Feb. 28, 2002, at Mary Washington Hospital. Born in King George County, Mr. Combs had retired as an equipment operator from the Virginia Department of Transportation in Westmoreland County. He was also a farmer, a trapper and an avid gardener. He was a member and deacon at Oak Grove Baptist Church and served as a Minuteman during World War II. Survivors include his wife, Goldie M. Combs; three sons, Gordon L. Combs of Melbourne, Fla., Vernon E. Combs and Ernest C. Combs, both of Colonial Beach; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. A funeral was held Sunday, March 3, at Oak Grove Baptist Church. Burial was in St. Peter's Cemetery, Oak Grove. The Rev. Willard Bowen and the Rev. Jeff Borton officiated. Evelyn J. Tabler, 82, of Florida, formerly of King George County, died Tuesday, Nov. 5, 2002, in Ocala, Fla.
She was a member of Shiloh Baptist Church in King George.
She is survived by her husband, George D. Tabler; three sons, Douglas G. Dillard of Potomac, Md., Larry E. Dillard of Lothian, Md., and William A. Glisson of Fruitland Park, Fla.; a brother, Walter
Jones of King George; two sisters, Lucille Shaw of King George and Ethel Novitszki of Ocala, Fla.; eight grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
A funeral was held Monday, Nov. 11, at Shiloh Baptist Church. Burial was in the church cemetery. The Rev. William Bragdon officiated.

Edward A. Smith, 87, of Farnham died Wednesday, Oct. 30, 2002.
Born Aug. 16, 1915, he was the son of Hervey A. and Mary Virginia
Smith of Westmoreland County. He had retired as a Washington fireman. He lived in Spotsylvania County from 1993 to 1996 in Red Rose Village and attended Chancellor Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Evelyn G.
Smith of Farnham; a daughter, Carol Foy of Callao; three sons, Hervey H.
Smith of Olney, Md., James E.
Smith of Ashton, Md., and Dennis A.
Smith of Fredericksburg.

Charles Edward Thurston Lee 78
Charles Edward Thurston Lee of Colonial Beach died Sunday, Nov. 3, 2002, at Halifax Regional Hospital.
Born in Colonial Beach on Feb. 12, 1924, he was 78 years old.
He was the son of George Thurston Lee and Ruth Olivia Leedy Lee and was married to Sarah Hodges Lee for 54 years.
He was a member of Colonial Beach United Methodist Church and was employed by the Naval Surface Warfare Center, Dahlgren Division.
He was a member of the American Legion Post 148, was active in the Colonial Beach Volunteer Fire Department and was a charter member of the Colonial Beach Rescue Squad.
Besides his wife, he is survived by a son, Edward Lee of New River, Ariz.; and one grandson, Thomas Edward Lee of Colonial Beach.
A memorial service will be held Sunday, Nov. 17, at 2 p.m. at the Colonial Beach Fire House. A reception will follow at the same location.

Carlton Ray Hall 50
Carlton Ray Hall, 50, of Fredericksburg died Friday, Nov. 8, 2002, at Mary Washington Hospital. He was the brother of Ron Hall of King George County.
Mr. Hall was a maintenance worker for Stafford County schools. A U.S. Army veteran, having served during the Vietname War, he was a member of Hebron Baptist Church. Other memberships include the Fredericksburg Moose Lodge 1655, Fredericksburg Elks Lodge 875 and the Knights of Pythias Lodge 22.
In addition to his brother of King George, Mr. Hall is survived by his wife, Laura Lane Hall; son, Bobby Ray Hall of the home; a daughter, Kelly Lane Hall of the home; and two other brothers, Edward "Bucky" Hall of Port Charlotte, Fla., and Dennis Hall of Spotsylvania County.
A memorial service was held Monday, Nov. 11, at Covenant Funeral Service in Fredericksburg. Interment was private. The Rev. David A. Russell officiated
Mrs. Martha Vandegriff Mangleburg Bell 83
Mrs. Martha Vandegriff Mangleburg Bell, 83, died at St. Mary's Hospital in Athens, Ga., on Oct. 30, 2002. She was the mother of Charles S. Mangleburg III of Colonial Beach and his wife, Lawanna Hicks Mangleburg.
A long-time resident of Athens, Mrs. Bell was the daughter of the late Dr. Benson Bowlen and Margaret Ann Crenshaw Vandegriff of Atlanta, Ga.
In addition to her parents, her first husband Charles S. Mangleburg Jr., a brother and two sisters, preceded her in death.
Mrs. Bell was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Athens and a volunteer at St. Mary's Hospital Auxiliary with over two thousand hours of service. She was a past member of the Rose and Dahlia Garden Club and the Glenwood Garden Club. Mrs. Bell was formerly an active member of the Tennis Association and the Golf Association at the Athens Country Club. She was a lover of flowers and spent a great deal of time in her yard and gardens.
In addition to her son and daughter-in-law of Colonial Beach, Mrs. Bell is survived by her husband: Horace E. Bell; another son and daughter-in-law, Harry B. and Patricia Morgan Mangleburg of Hartwell, Ga.; three great grandchildren; a number of nieces and nephews and a number of grandnieces and grandnephews.
A graveside service was held Saturday, Nov. 2, in Oconee Hill Cemetery in Athens.
