Nannie Louise Hundley 57 years
Nannie Louise Hundley, 57, of Montross died of cancer Monday, Feb. 12, 2001, at Riverside Tappahannock Hospital. Born in Westmoreland County, Mrs. Hundley was a nurse at Warsaw Health Care Center and a member of Edgewater United Methodist Church at Tidwells. Survivors include her husband, James Edward "Fims" Hundley; a son, James Edward "Jimmy" Hundley Jr. of Montross; a brother, Daniel Jackson of Village; and several nieces and nephews. A funeral was held Thursday at Welch Funeral Home, Montross. The Rev. J. Charles Dameron and the Rev. Ken Overby officiated. Burial was in St. James Episcopal Church cemetery at Tidwells. The family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of contributions to Northern Neck Hospice Support Services, Box 262, Warsaw, Va. 22572; or to St. James Episcopal Church Cemetery Fund, Box 110, Hague, Va. 22469.

Stephen B. Dudley 81 years
Stephen B. Dudley, 81, of Colonial Beach died Wednesday, Feb. 14, 2001, at Mary Washington Hospital. Mr. Dudley, a native and lifelong resident of Westmoreland County, was known as "Coon Pop." He had retired as a farmer, was a member of First Baptist Church at Colonial Beach and enjoyed hunting. He was the widower of Aloncita Dudley. Survivors include a daughter, Doris Rhodes of Colonial Beach; three sons, Jerome Dudley of Idaho, Charles Dudley and Bernard Dudley, both of Colonial Beach; 23 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren. A funeral was held Monday at First Baptist Church. The Rev. David Cunningham officiated. Burial was in Historyland Memorial Park in King George County. Lee Funeral Home, King George, handled the arrangements.

Orbia Grayson Deel 71 years
Orbia Grayson Deel, 71, of Colonial Beach died Tuesday, Feb. 13, 2001, at Mary Washington Hospital. Born in Buchanan County, Mr. Deel was an electronics repairman. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Fredericksburg Ward. Survivors include his wife, Nettie Jones Deel; three daughters, Diane White of Gaffney, S.C., Anice Ostrom of Liberty, Pa., and Audrey Lynn Deel of Colonial Beach; three sons, Philip Deel of Bowling Green, Gerald Deel of Inman, S.C., and Michael Deel of Colonial Beach; two sisters, Leona Thompson of Grundy and Dorothy Yates of Prater; three brothers, Lafayette Deel, Harold Deel and Alan Deel, all of Grundy; 14 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and Danielle Jones, who resides at the Deel home. A funeral was held Friday at Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Fredericksburg Ward. Bishop Brett Dewey officiated. Burial was in Linton Hall Cemetery in Linton. The family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of contributions to Benedictine Sisters of Virginia, 9535 Linton Hall Road, Bristow, Va. 20136. Mullins & Thompson Funeral Service, Fredericksburg Chapel, handled the arrangements.

Martha Ann Clark 84 years
Martha Ann Clark, 84, of King George County died Sunday, Feb. 18, 2001, at Mary Washington Hospital. Born in Stafford County, Mrs. Clark attended New Hope Baptist Church. Survivors include her husband, James "Buck" Clark; three daughters, Shelby Allen of King George, Sophie Rumuly and Diane Williams, both of Spotsylvania County; a son, James F. Clark of Hot Springs, Ark.; two sisters, Mabel McWhirt and Shirley Campbell of Stafford County; eight grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. A graveside service was held today at Historyland Memorial Park, King George. The Rev. Randy Newsome officiated. The family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of contributions to a favorite charity. Nash & Slaw Funeral Home, King George, handled the arrangements.

Wilda Alsop 96 years
Wilda Alsop, 96, of Colonial Beach died Sunday, Feb. 11, 2001, at Mary Washington Hospital. Born in Mapleton, Pa., Mrs. Alsop had worked as a self-employed beautician. She was a member of St. Mary's Episcopal Church in Colonial Beach and was the widow of Paul Alsop. Survivors include three grandsons, Keith Alsop of Centreville, Scott Alsop and Jim Alsop, both of Fairfax; and one great-granddaughter. A memorial service will be held at a later date. The family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of contributions to the Colonial Beach Volunteer Fire Department, Box 212, Colonial Beach, Va. 22443. Mullins & Thompson Funeral Service, Fredericksburg Chapel, is handling the arrangements.

Vessie J. Steppe 96 years
Vessie Jollette Steppe, 96, of Dahlgren died Sunday, Jan. 28, 2001, at Mary Washington Hospital. Born in Greene County, she had retired in 1973 from the Naval Surface Warfare Center, Dahlgren Division. She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Shenandoah and attended Dahlgren United Methodist Church. She was a member of the Order of Eastern Star and was the widow of Gilbert A. Steppe. Survivors include two granddaughters, Andrea S. Collins of Royse City, Texas and Janeiro Sproul of Alexandria; a grandson, Gilbert A. Steppe of West Grove, Pa.; six great-grandchildren; and two stepgreat-grandchildren. Mrs. Steppe was the mother of the late A. Jollette Steppe. A memorial service was held Saturday at Dahlgren United Methodist Church. Committal of Mrs. Steppe's ashes took place in Coverstone Cemetery in Shenandoah. The family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of contributions to a favorite charity; or to the Dahlgren Rescue Squad, Box 1375, Dahlgren, Va. 22448. Pansy E. Sipe 77 years
Pansy E. Sipe, 77, of Colonial Beach died Saturday, Feb. 3, 2001, at Mary Washington Hospital. Mrs. Sipe was a member of the Colonial Beach United Methodist Church, Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 10574 Auxiliary and the Daisy Thour Group at her church. She is survived by her husband, Clarence "Bill" Sipe; a daughter, Ellen F. Bell of King George County; a son, Malcolm L. Fenwick of Fredericksburg; four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday at Colonial Beach United Methodist Church. The Rev. Louis Martin will officiate. The family requests that expressions of sympathy be donations to the Colonial Beach Rescue Squad, 225 Dennison St., Colonial Beach, Va. 22443. Nash & Slaw Funeral Home, Colonial Beach, is handling the arrangements.

Francis D. Reamy 68 years
Francis Dean Reamy, 68, of Warsaw died Tuesday, Feb. 6, 2001, at Walter Reed Convalescent Center in Gloucester County. Born in Richmond County, he was a self-employed painter and was a World War II Army veteran. Survivors include two sisters, Mildred Reamy Bowen of Montross and Catherine Reamy Johnson of Warsaw; three brothers, Wilmouth E. "Buck" Reamy of Warsaw, Archie Louis Reamy of Fairfax and Bobby Neal Reamy of Montross; and several nieces and nephews. A funeral was held Friday at Welch Funeral Home, Montross. Burial was in Rappahannock Baptist Church cemetery at Newland. The family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of contributions to Rappahannock Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, c/o Catherine Johnson, 755 Oak Row Road, Warsaw, Va. 22572.

Ethel P. Ransone 87 years
Ethel P. Ransone, 87, of King George County died Thursday, Feb. 8, 2001, at Lancashire Nursing Home in Kilmarnock. She was a member of Corrotoman Baptist Church in Lancaster and was the widow of James Weston Ransone. Survivors include a brother, Lawrence E. Pritchett of Lancaster County; several nieces and nephews; and Donald Butler of Colonial Beach, whom Mrs. Ransone helped raise. A funeral was held Monday at Currie Funeral Home, Kilmarnock. Burial was in White Chapel Cemetery in Lancaster. The family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of contributions to Corrotoman Baptist Church, 48 Ottoman Ferry Road, Lancaster, Va. 22503.

Edith Pearson 94 years
Edith Evelyn Pearson, 94, of Colonial Beach died Saturday, Feb. 10, 2001, at her home. Born in Currioman, she was a member of Colonial Beach United Methodist Church. She was the widow of George Pearson Sr. She and her husband established Pearson's Seafood in 1935 and Pearson's Oil Co. in 1946. Survivors include two daughters, Lillian Horne of Colonial Beach and Barbara Koonce of Henderson, Ky.; two sons, George Pearson Jr. and Robert Pearson, both of Colonial Beach; seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and a number of nieces and nephews. A funeral was held Tuesday at Colonial Beach United Methodist Church. Burial was in Providence United Methodist Church Cemetery in Chiltons. Nash & Slaw Funeral Home of Colonial Beach handled the arrangements.

Daniel B. Kelly 71 years
Daniel Boone Kelly, 71, of Coles Point in Westmoreland County died at his home Friday, Feb. 2, 2001. Born at Tidwells, Mr. Kelly was the founder and operator of Daniel Kelly & Son Building Contractors. He was a member of St. James Episcopal Church at Tidwells. Survivors include his wife, Lorelle O. Kelly; a daughter, Alma L. Robinson of Kansas City, Mo.; a son, Daniel L. Kelly of Warsaw; two stepdaughters, Vickie McKenny Nash of Montross and Sheri McKenny Packett of Coles Point; two sisters, Fannie Elizabeth Britt of North Carolina and Junnies May Loomis of Florida; a brother, Redden Kelly of North Carolina; and two grandchildren. A funeral was held last Sunday at Welch Funeral Home, Montross. Burial was in Princess Ann Memorial Park in Virginia Beach. The family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of contributions to the Northern Neck Hospice Support Services, Box 262, Warsaw, Va. 22572; or to the Westmoreland Rescue Squad, Box 37, Mount Holly, Va. 22524.

William P. Jones 61 years
William P. Jones, 61, of Montross died Saturday, Feb. 3, 2001, at a Richmond hospital. Born in Westmoreland County, Mr. Jones had retired as a farmer. He was a member of Providence United Methodist Church, Warsaw Bauman Lodge 332 and the Order of Eastern Star, Betty Lewis Chapter, in Kinsale. Survivors include his wife, Christine J. Jones; a daughter, Jacqueline J. Harding of Coles Point; two sons, William C. Jones II and Charles C. "Chip" Jones, both of Montross; a sister, Mary J. Keeling of Annandale; and two grandchildren. A funeral was held last Wednesday at Providence United Methodist Church in Montross. Burial was in the church cemetery. The family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of contributions to the Montross Rescue Squad, Box 1174, Montross, Va. 22520; or to Providence Church Cemetery Fund, Box 913, Montross, Va. 22520. Naomi L. Johnson 77 years
Naomi L. Johnson, 77, of Dahlgren died Sunday, Feb. 11, 2001, at Culpeper Health Care Center. Born in King George County, Mrs. Johnson was a member of Little Ark Baptist Church at Owens. She was a foster mother to many children over the years. Survivors include her husband, James J. Johnson; a daughter, Ashley Leigh Johnson of Dahlgren; a son, Steve Lyles of Dahlgren; a sister, Mary Robinson of Philadelphia; two brothers, Leo Allen of Lanham, Md., and Leroy Allen of Washington; and one grandson. A funeral will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday at Little Ark Baptist Church, with the Rev. Ben Jones officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The body may be viewed from noon to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Cedell Brooks Funeral Home, Port Royal, and from 11 a.m. until the service Thursday at the church.

Deloris M. Jenkins 87 years
Deloris Maxine Jenkins, 87, of King George County died Monday, Feb. 5, 2001, at Woodmont Center. Born in Pierceton, Ind., Mrs. Jenkins was a member of Shiloh Baptist Church in King George. Survivors include a sister, Edna Ritchie of Orange County; two brothers, Henry Houchin of Spotsylvania County and William Harold Houchin of King George; and several nieces and nephews. A graveside service was held Thursday in Emmanuel Methodist Church cemetery in Fulton, Md. Mullins & Thompson Funeral Service, Fredericksburg, handled the arrangements.

Buddy James 57 years
Glenwood Ellison "Buddy" James Jr., 57, of Sumerduck in Fauquier County, died of cancer Friday, Feb. 9, 2001, at Fauquier Hospital. He was the father of David James of King George County. Born in Fauquier, Mr. James was the owner and operator of Glen E. James Jr. Tin and Sheet Metal Co. for many years. He was a member of Fauquier Hunt Club and was an Army veteran. His hobbies included hunting, fishing and car racing. In addition to his son of King George, he is survived by his wife, Bert James; two daughters, Kristie Crider of Manassas and Loretta Simpson of Sumerduck; his parents, Glen and Ruth James of Morrisville; three sisters, Helen Grimsley of Warrenton, Loretta Logay of Jacksonville, Fla., and Donna Cornwell of Bealeton; and nine grandchildren. A funeral was held Monday at Mount Carmel Baptist church in Midland. Burial was in the church cemetery. The family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of contributions to the American Cancer Society, Box 1749, Vienna, Va. 22183. Moser Funeral Home, Warrenton, handled the arrangements.
