Dandridge C. Clark 67 years
Dandridge C. Clark, 67, of Coles Point in Westmoreland died Tuesday, Jan. 9, 2001, at the home of a family member in Coles Point.
Mr. Clark had retired as a self-employed carpenter. He was a member of Cople Parish, a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 212 in Montross and a Korean War veteran.
Survivors include a daughter, Terry C. Sandy of Mechanicsville; four sisters, Sarah C. Faris and Violet C. Winstead, both of Coles Point, Velma C. Chatham of Tidwells and Dallas C. Hayden of Montross; one grandchild; and one great-grandchild.
A graveside service was held Thursday in St. James Episcopal Church cemetery at Tidwells.

Doris B. Clair 82 years
Doris Beatrice Clair, 82, of Dahlgren died Monday, Jan. 8, 2001, at Mary Washington Hospital.
Mrs. Clair was the widow of Elmer O. Clair.
Survivors include a son, Ed Clair of Dahlgren; and two grandchildren.
A funeral was held Friday at Mountcastle Funeral Home, Woodbridge. Burial was in Mount Comfort Cemetery in Alexandria.

Rick Childers 43 years
Richard Lewis "Rick" Childers, 43, of Colonial Beach was found dead at his home Saturday, Jan. 6, 2001. Mr. Childers had a history of diabetes..
Born and raised in Alexandria, he had worked as a pump mechanic for the Town of Colonial Beach for more than 12 years. He had also worked as a pump mechanic for Stafford County in recent times.
Survivors include his wife, Pamela B. Childers of Colonial Beach; a daughter, Elizabeth Ann Childers, and a son, James Robert Childers, both of Colonial Beach; a sister, Jean Hicks of Colonial Beach; and three brothers, Robert A. Childers of Woodbridge, William G. Childers of Colonial Beach and Thomas E. Childers of Montross.
A private funeral will be held at a later date, with the Rev. Willard Bowen officiating.

Glenn C. Bailey Jr. 61 years
Glenn Carlton Bailey Jr., 61, of King George died Thursday, Jan. 11, 2001, at Mary Washington Hospital.
Born in Illinois, Mr. Bailey had retired as a quality control specialist from the Department of Defense at the Naval Surface Warfare Center, Dahlgren Division, after 30 years.
He was a member of Nativity of the Theotokos Greek Orthodox Church in Spotsylvania County.
He is survived by his wife, Elaine Bailey.
A funeral was held Monday at Nativity of the Theotokos Greek Orthodox Church. Burial was in Oak Hill Cemetery.

June Eva Tesh 67 years
June Eva Tesh, 67, of Colonial Beach died Saturday, Dec. 23, 2000, at Mary Washington Hospital.
Mrs. Tesh was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles, where she held many offices and was a past madam state president.
Survivors include three sons, Timothy M. Harrison of Colonial Beach, James L. Harrison of Reading, Pa., and Charles S. Harrison of Petersburg; her mother, Edith Story of Luray; a brother, Louis Story of Northern Virginia; a granddaughter; and a step-great-grandchild.
A funeral was held Friday at Nash & Slaw Funeral Home, King George.
Clara B. Scott 68 years
Clara B. Scott, 68, of King George, died Saturday, Jan. 6, 2001, at Mount Vernon Hospital, Alexandria.
Mrs. Scott retired as a teacher and school principal in Prince Georges County, Md., after 30 years. A member of Salem Baptist Church in King George, she served on its deaconess board.
Survivors include a daughter, Vicki Watson of King George; a sister, Alice Grant of Washington, D.C.; a brother, Edgar Collins, of Pittsburgh, Pa.; and two grandsons.
A funeral will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday at Salem Baptist Church, with the Rev. Leonard G. Bland officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends from noon until the service on Thursday.

Dollie B. Puckett 84 years
Dollie Baldwin Puckett, 84, of Glade Spring in Washington County died Friday, Jan. 5, 2001, at
Johnson Memorial Hospital in Abingdon. Mrs. Puckett, affectionately known as Doll, made her home part of the time with her son Jerry Puckett of King George.
Born in Buchanan County, she was a partner and bookkeeper in her family business. She was the widow of Lonnie Puckett.
Besides her son of King George, she is survived by a daughter, Peggy Anna Fox of Pounding Mill; five other sons, Larry Puckett and Danny Puckett, both of Stafford County, Freddie Puckett of Lebanon, Pa., Tommy Puckett of Glade Spring and Sammy Puckett of Kodak, Tenn.; a sister, Lois Owens of Lakeland, Fla.; 18 grandchildren; and 26 great-grandchildren. She was also the mother of the late Harold Puckett, Bobby Puckett and Billy Puckett.
A funeral was held Monday at Farris Funeral Home, Abingdon. Burial was in Old Glade Baptist Cemetery.
Ernest Hawkins Jr. 66 years
Ernest Burroughs Hawkins Jr., 66, of King George died Monday, Jan. 1, 2001, at Shore Memorial Hospital in Nassawadox.
Born in Culpeper, Mr. Hawkins had retired as a truck driver. He enjoyed bluegrass music, making models as a hobby and driving a semi-truck.
Survivors include his wife, Edna M. Hawkins; a daughter, Cheryle R. King of Gobles, Mich.; two sons, Ernest B. Hawkins III of King George and Russell Hampton Hawkins of Phoenix, Ariz.; a brother, William Leroy Hawkins of Culpeper; and three grandchildren.

Jane Caroline Hall, 67, of Montross died Wednesday, Jan. 3, 2001, from injuries she received in an automobile accident in Montross.
Miss Hall, born in Westmoreland County, was manager of The Tubman Co. She was a member of Nomini Baptist Church, where she served as church clerk, was a member of the choir, director of preschool, and member of the Women's Missionary Union.
Survivors include a son, Larry McIlwee of Warsaw; two sisters, Mary Porter Hall of Montross and Dorothea Christians of Naples, Fla.; a brother, William H. "Bill" Hall of Montross; three grandchildren; and three nieces.
A funeral was held Saturday at Nomini Baptist Church, Templemans. Burial was in the church cemetery.

Thomas D. Cobb, 76, of King George County died Tuesday, Jan. 2, 2001, at the Mary Washington Senior Living Facility in Colonial Beach.
Born in King George, Mr. Cobb had worked as a construction laborer in the Washington area. He was a member of Good Hope Baptist Church, and the Bricklayers and Laborers Union Local 74 in Washington.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Lena Cobb; a son, Thomas D. Cobb Jr. of Clinton, Md.; three sisters, Lillian Cholmondeley, of Alexandria, Rosa Thomas and Mary Wilson, both of Camden, N.J.; and two grandchildren.
A funeral was held Saturday at Good Hope Baptist Church, King George. Burial was in the church cemetery.

Carter 77 years
Margaret Catherine Carter, 77, of Fredericksburg died Wednesday, Dec. 27, 2000, at Mary Washington Hospital. She was born in King George and the sister of Grace Butler of Oak Grove.
The widow of Harvey C. Carter, Mrs.
Carter had owned the Crow's Nest, a gift shop, in Luray for 28 years. She then worked in food service at Kmart in Alexandria for 11 years.
In addition to her sister of Oak Grove, survivors include a daughter, Lydia "Sue" Dail of Fredericksburg; a brother, William
Johnson of Florida; and two grandchildren. She was also the mother of the late Robert "Bob" Carter.
A memorial service was Saturday at Mullins & Thompson Funeral Service, Fredericksburg Chapel. Burial was private.
