Miss Rosa Bell Ross, of Washington Park, Richmond, Va., departed this life September 8, 2000. She is survived by her nieces, Joan R. Rogers, Rose R. Washington and Evelyn C. Ross; great-nieces, great-nephews, great-great-nieces and nephews, and great-great-great-nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends. Her remains rest at the W.S. Watkins & Son Funeral Home. Marion Hawkes Shaw of Richmond, widow of Howard E. Shaw, died Friday, September 8, 2000. She is survived by one sister, Kathleen H. Bevill; and one sister-in-law, Eunice S. Hawkes, both of Richmond; nieces and nephews, Katherine B. Peatross, Rebecca H. Miller, Martha H. Moore, Robert E. Hawkes and William Gardner; and was cared for and loved by a devoted companion, Ann Barnes. Mrs. Shaw was retired from the federal government. Remains rest at the Central Chapel of Bennett Funeral Home, 3215 Cutshaw Ave., where the family will receive friends 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday. Margaret W. Snider, age 94, of the Masonic Home of Virginia, widow of Philip Joseph Snider Sr., died Sunday, September 10, 2000. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Peggy S. and Paul M. Hall of Birmingham, Ala.; her son, Dr. Philip Joseph Snider Jr. of Houston, Texas; five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; and her sister, Mildred Martin of Roanoke, Va. Pearley A. Webster, 79, of Spring Grove, died Sunday, September 10, 2000. A native of Ohio, he had lived in Surry County since 1973. He retired in 1980 from Allied Signal after more than 20 years of service. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, WWII. He is survived by his close friends and caretakers, David and Estelle Holdsworth of Spring Grove. A graveside service will be held at Oakwood Cemetery, Surry on Wednesday, September 13, 2000 at 2 p.m. Memorials may be made to Surry Rescue Squad. James E. Adams Sr., 75, of Sandston, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, September 16, 2000. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Louise
Jones Adams; his son, James E. Adams Jr.; two daughters, Judy A. Hornby and Janice A. Kuether; 10 grandchildren, four great-grandchildren; and a sister, Margaret Wilcox. Mr. Adams was a U.S. Navy WWII veteran and retired from the State of Virginia. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge #351, Henrico Faternal Order of Police, and the VFW. BRYAN
Robert Erle Bryan of Williamsburg, Va., died September 16, 2000. He was born November 2, 1919 in Oklahoma City, Okla., and attended the University of Oklahoma before joining the U.S. Marine Corps during World War II. For 18 years, Mr. Bryan was president of Consumer Credit Counseling Service of Virginia, Inc., which he expanded from a fledgling organization to one of the top five credit counseling services in the country. He retired in 1998 but remained active in an advisory role until his recent illness. Mr. Bryan was preceded in death by his parents, Erle Pendleton Bryan and Fay Law Bryan; and his brother, Thomas Law Bryan. He is survived by his wife, Jean Knoop Bryan; stepdaughter, Kathrina Knoop, New York City; sister-in-law, Dorothy Ann Owen Bryan, Oklahoma City; nieces and nephews, Sandy Bryan Trudgeon and her husband, Jon of Oklahoma City, Robert Owen Bryan and his wife, Helene of Heidelberg, Germany, and Ann Bryan Stussi and her husband, David Stussi of Portland, Ore.; and nine great-nieces and nephews. David Christy Delgado, age 53, formerly of Richmond, died unexpectedly on September 13, 2000. He is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Mike and Renee Delgado; a daughter, Luna Delgado; two sisters, Linda Delgado and Mary Ellen Capps; a nephew, and a granddaughter. A wake was held at the Birmingham Funeral Home, Wharton, N.J. on Sunday afternoon. Mrs. Cynthia "Cindy" Graham Donica, age 30, 330 Liberty Hill Road, Toccoa, Ga., passed away Thursday, September 14, 2000 at the Stephens County Hospital. A daughter of Harvey and Luretta Longest Graham, she was born March 27, 1970 in Richmond, Va. where she lived most of her life, having lived in Toccoa for the past five years. She was a graduate of Bob
Jones University where she earned her B.S. and Masters of Art Degrees. She was a member of The Calvary Baptist Church, the teacher and a member of the Ruth Bible Class, the Calvary Choir, and the Childrens Church Leader. Survivors are her parents, Harvey and Luretta Graham of Richmond, Va.; her husband, Paul Donica of the home; one son, Thomas Edward Donica of the home; a daughter, Margarett Hope Donica of the home; one brother, Joel Graham, of Elkin, N.C.; one sister, Rebecca Wilkerson of Chesterfield, Va.; and father and mother-in-law, Gary and Marsha Donica of Florence, S.C.; sisters-in-law, Mary Kay Harllee of Florence, S.C.; Julie Peake of Columbia, S.C., Sarah Donica of Statesville, N.C., and Rachel Donica of Toccoa, Ga. Funeral services were held Sunday, 3 p.m. at the Calvary Baptist Church with the Reverend Dennis Petty officiating. The body lied in state at the church from 2:30 p.m. until the funeral hour. Lillian Covington Eisenhart, 92, of Quinton, died Saturday, September 16, 2000 after a long illness at Elizabeth Crump Manor Nursing Home. She was a member of the Emmaus Baptist Church, a charter member and Past President of Sammis Grottoe Ladies Auxiliary, life member of the Senior Center of Richmond, the Martha Dandridge Woman’s Club, Early Settlers Seniors, Woodhaven Garden Club of New Kent and the Heritage Club of Richmond. Mrs. Eisenhart was retired from the Virginia Chapter of the American Lung Association where she managed the accounting for 30 years. She is survived by several cousins including, Eunice Crowe, H.S. (Bubba) Crowe, Nelson, Audrey, Stanley and Alroy Crowe; close friends, Marie Jeanette Donahue, Eric Bennett, Henry L. Dail, Lee and Tara Dail and boys, Daniel and Sally Fowler. A memorial service will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday, September 19, at Emmaus Baptist Church, Rt. 106 in Quinton. Interment private. Roxie Anne Fore Fisher, 69, of Richmond, died Saturday, September 16, 2000. She was preceded in death by her husband, Auburn T. Fisher and is survived by three sons, Michael T., A. Mrs. Hills was a legal secretary for 49 years, first with Virginia Tel & Tel and later with Western Electric in Lincoln, Neb.
