GREEN
Virginia Fuqua Green, 99, widow of Samuel D. Green, died Saturday, December 8, 2001. A native of Surry County, Va., she was the daughter of the late John Winston and Eva Virginia Fuqua. She was a Peninsula resident for 50 years before moving to Richmond in 1986. Mrs.
Green was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, Newport News and a former member of the Newport News Women's Club. She was a graduate of Blackstone College for Girls. An avid gardener, she and her husband hosted Garden Week at their home in the mid 1980s. Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Evalane G. and William P. Slaughter of Richmond; two grandchildren, David Edward Slaughter of Fullerton, Calif. and Claire Slaughter Ballard of Richmond; and two great-grandsons, twins, Adam and William Ballard. The family will receive friends Tuesday, December 11, 2001, beginning at 1:30 p.m. with the funeral to follow at 2:30 p.m. at Peninsula Funeral Home. The Rev. Glen H. Cannon will officiate. Burial will be at Peninsula Memorial Park. Percy Leon Hobson Jr. departed this life December 6, 2001 at the Hackensack University Medical Center. Percy Leon Hobson Jr. was born February 15, 1957 in Englewood, New Jersey. He was the elder child of Percy L. Hobson Sr. and Edith Mosby Hobson Lomax. Percy Jr. was educated through the Edglewood, New Jersey school system. As a result, he graduated from Bergen Vocational High School in Hackensack, New Jersey. During Percy's school years, he resided with his father, Percy Sr. Percy was very gifted with his hands and possessed a great love of cars. He was self-employed most of his adult life, and was a very proficient auto mechanic and auto body repairman. He leaves to mourn his memory his parents, Percy L. Hobson Sr. and Edith Lomax, Glen Allen, Va.; two sons, Daniel and Shawn; one daughter, Aaliyah; seven brothers, Alvin, Jerome, Rocky Mount, N.C., Dwight, Cornell, Robert, Shawn and Frederick S. Lomax Jr., Jacksonville, Fla.; six sisters, Denise, Karen, Frenchola, Tanya, Karnette Lomax, Richmond, Va. and Nicole; a devoted grandmother, Mildred Mosby, Richmond, Va.; two aunts, Claudia Johnson, Saluda, Va. and Geraldine Christian, Washington, D.C.; three uncles, Matthew Hobson, Mt. Craig Mitchell Jaquette, 34, of Tarboro, N.C., beloved father, son and brother went home to be with his Lord, Friday, December 7, 2001. Robert Frederick Thome Jr., age 66, passed away December 9, 2001. He is survived by his wife, Connie M. Thome; daughter, Laura T. Bartnicki; sons, David Thome of Richmond, Eric Thome of Stutgart, Germany; and granddaughter, Olivia Bartnicki. Mr. Thome attended V.P.I. He retired president of Dupont Fibers Federal Credit Union and currently was employed part-time with the Better Business Bureau, Elder Fraud Program. TRICH
Stephen Michael Trich, 91, of Richmond, Va., died December 7, 2001. He retired as Director of Design and Construction, General Services Administration, Washington, D.C. and was a WW II U.S. Navy veteran. A Professional Engineer, Mr. Trich came to Washington in 1952 as Engineer in Charge of Andrew's Airforce Base and went on to the Architect of the Capitol, as the Engineer in Charge of the construction of the House Rayburn Office Building. He was a member of the Seat Pleasant Masonic Lodge. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Dorothy, and is survived by his daughters, Mary Landrieu, Leicester, N.Y., and Suzanne Bristow, Richmond, Va.; and grandsons, Joseph Christian, Stephen and Andrew Bristow. There will be a service of remembrance on Sunday, December 9, at the home in Richmond. A private burial in Buffalo, N.Y. will follow.

Lorraine Helene Albert of Mechanicsville entered into eternal rest with the Lord on Sunday, September 17, 2000. She is survived by her loving husband and friend Rosaire (Ross) J. Albert; her daughter, Lisa Albert Guridy and her husband, Gino R. Guridy; her grandchildren, Matthew and Lauren Guridy; her son, David Louie Albert and his wife, Robin Tyler Albert, all of Mechanicsville. She is also survived by her father, Louie E. Bardy Jr. of Kenner, La.; and her mother, Alice Bardy Seguin and her husband, Roland J. Seguin of Montreal, Canada. Mrs. Albert was a caretaker to families in need of care for a loved one. Richard Hall Boyd, age 67, of Lanexa, died Sunday, September 17, 2000.
