Elkin W. Odell
EDEN, N.C. -- Elkin Winfred Odell, 67, of 727 Spring St., Eden, died Wednesday, Dec. 28, 2005, at Morehead Memorial Hospital.
He was born in Ridgeway, Va., to Raymond and Swannie Grogan Odell. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, George "Bunk" Odell, Alvin Odell and Raymond "Dick" Odell. He was a member of Rock of Ages Baptist Church.
Surviving are his wife, Dorothy Redd Odell of the home; two sons, Elkin Winfred Odell Jr. of Eden and James Winfred Odell of Ridgeway; five daughters, Donna Rieson, Brenda Amburn, Lisa Blankenship, Veretta Gibbs and Tamara Owens, all of Eden; 11 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and three sisters, Mary Austin of Reidsville, Lee Waller of Ridgeway and Ruby Caroleen Odell of Eden.
The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. today at Rock of Ages Baptist Church. Burial will be in Overlook Cemetery.

Tammy H. Tarpley
DANVILLE -- Tammy Theresa Hall Tarpley, 45, of 6044 Fox Trail, Danville, died in a fire on Saturday, Dec. 24, 2005, at her home.
She was born in Pittsylvania County on Dec. 31, 1959, to Dorentha Hairston Hall and Edgar Lee Hall. She was preceded in death by her father.
She was employed at Nationwide Custom Homes in Martinsville.
In addition to her mother, surviving are two daughters, Jamaica Tarpley of Dry Fork and JaWanda Tarpley of Richmond; a sister, Daphine Leftwich of Cascade; a granddaughter; and several of nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Tarpley's Chapel Baptist Church with the Rev. Robert Devins Jr. officiating. A private burial will be held later.
The family will receive friends at the home of her daughter, Jamaica Tarpley, 1721 W. Sunrise Drive, Dry Fork.

Mayson Dean White
A funeral for Mayson Dean White, 3-month-old son of John A. White and Brenda Webb White of 51 Crystal View Lane, Bassett, who died Dec. 28, 2005, at his home, will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at Collins Funeral Chapel. The Rev. George Hearn will officiate. Burial will be private.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday.
He was born Aug. 30, 2005, in Martinsville. He was preceded in death by a grandmother, Eleanor White, and great-grandparents, James and Sadie Webb.
In addition to his parents, surviving are a brother and sisters, Jaycee, Jolene, Vallik, Summer, Isabella and Dianna; grandparents, Sandy and Billy Webb of Franklin, N.J., and James White of Hamburg, N.J.; great-grandparents, Evelyn and Louis Babcock of Hardyston, N.J.; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
Barbara B. Wimbush
A funeral for Barbara Barbour Wimbush, 71, of Bassett, who died Dec. 26, 2005, was held Thursday at Oak Hill Cathedral of Glory with the Rev. Charles Alston officiating. Burial was in Carver Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers were Ronnie Wimbush, Tommy Wade, Alton and Jimmy Perry and James Barbour.

Joe S. Cox
The funeral for Joe Sanders Cox, 64, of Ridgeway, who died Dec. 29, 2005, was held Saturday at Norris Funeral Services chapel with the Rev. Albert Robertson officiating. Burial was in the Cox family cemetery in Ridgeway.
Pallbearers were Benny Brooke, Jack Martin, Howell Shrader, Jack Turner, Jimmy Lamkin, Glenn Puckett, Buford Pace and Tony Chaney.
Stella W. Fuller
Stella Watkins Fuller, 88, of 1607 Spruce St., Martinsville, died Friday, Dec. 30, 2005, at Beverly Healthcare in Martinsville.
She was born in Pittsylvania County on Jan. 14, 1917, to Johnny L. Watkins and Ida Belle Hodge Watkins. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, D.T. Fuller; six sisters, Emma Martin, Alice Martin, Lucille Bundy, Lizzie Davis, Louise Martin and Lillian Watkins; and five brothers, Benjamin Watkins, James W. Watkins, David Watkins, John Watkins and McKinley Watkins .
She was a housewife and a member of Mt. Sinai Holiness Church, where she was former president of the Missionary Dept., a former Pastor's Aide and served in the Benevolence Dept.
Surviving are three sisters, Lottie Martin, Elaine Fuller and Camelia Hairston, all of Axton.
The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Monday at Mt. Sinai Holiness Church with Elder Bruce Simmons officiating. Burial will be in the Watkins family cemetery in Axton.
The family will receive friends today at Hines Funeral Services from 7 to 8 p.m. and at other times at the residence of her niece, Lillie Carter, 817 Whispering Pines Road, Axton.

Edith B. Hancock
Edith Boyd Hancock, 84, of 785 Hodges Farm Road, Martinsville, died Saturday, Dec. 31, 2005, at Memorial Hospital in Martinsville.
She was born in Henry County on March 5, 1921, to William C. "Bill" Boyd and Flora Wood Boyd. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James L. "Lem" Hancock; a sister, Martha Hundley; and three brothers, Isaac Boyd, John Boyd and Walter Boyd.
She was a homemaker and a member of Amazing Grace Baptist Church.
Surviving are eight daughters, Thelma Via and Olene Chaney, both of Martinsville; Linda Doss and Peggy Hatcher, both of Fieldale; Maxine Harris and Inez Hancock, both of Martinsville; Bonnie Hall of Stuart and Kathy Reed of Rocky Mount; two sisters, Gaye Rhodes of Fieldale and Pearl
Jones of Trinity, N.C.; a brother, Edward Boyd of Martinsville; 14 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Monday at Collins Funeral Services with the Rev. Greg Hodges officiating. Burial will be in Roselawn Burial Park.
The family will receive friends today at Collins Funeral Services chapel from 7 to 9 p.m.
Thomas D. Harbour
Thomas D. Harbour, 89, of 1239 Old Leaksville Road, Ridgeway, died Saturday, Dec. 31, 2005, at Memorial Hospital in Martinsville.
He was born in Patrick County on Jan. 25, 1916, to the Rev. J.D. Harbour and Victoria Conner Harbour. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four sisters, Eva Harbour, Bera Hatcher, Mabel Cox and Delois Woody; and three brothers, Howard Harbour, Ralph Harbour and Billy R. Harbour.
He served in the U.S. Army as a Master Sgt. and in the U.S. Air Force. He was a past member of AM-VETS Post 35 and the Martinsville Moose Lodge. He graduated from Berea Bible College in Berea, Ky. and attended Ferrum College. He was retired from Spectra Freight Lines as a driver with more than 20 years of service. He was of the Methodist faith.
Surviving are his wife, Elizabeth "Betty" Chategnier Harbour of the home; two daughters, Michelle Harbour Arrington of Martinsville and Barbara
Johnson of Bassett; a son, Thomas E. "Tommy" Harbour of Bassett; three sisters, Myrtle Harbour Helms of Ridgeway, Rachael Harbour Starling of Eden, N.C. and Annie Harbour Young of Virginia Beach; two brothers, W.C. Harbour and Bain Harbour, both of Ruffin, N.C.; six grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday at Community Funeral Services with the Rev. Russell Gresham officiating. Burial with military rites will be in Mountain View Cemetery, Ridgeway.
The family will receive friends today at Community Funeral Services from 7 to 8:30 p.m. and other times at the residence.
Leonard H. Hubbard
The funeral for Leonard H. Hubbard, 70, of Meadows of Dan, who died Dec. 28, 2005, was held Saturday at Moody Funeral Home chapel with Pastors Danny Gilley and Terry Martin officiating. Burial was in the Hubbard family cemetery.
Pallbearers were Leon Rhodes, Troy Wood, Coby Hubbard, Jarett Hubbard, Dale Belcher, Delmar Belcher, Roger Belcher, Bradley Hubbard, Danny Hubbard, Larry Taylor, Jeff Belcher and Gary Belcher.
Christopher Jones
The funeral for Christopher Jones, 58, of Martinsville, who died Dec. 27, 2005, was held Saturday at Greater International Pentecostal Holiness Church with the Rev. Benjamin Redd officiating. Burial was in Carver Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers were Thurman Oliver, Myrus Oliver, Harold Morrison, Glen Stokes, Samuel Draper and Anthony Starkie.

Novella F. Mills
A graveside service for Novella Francis Mills, 67, of Martinsville, who died Dec. 26, 2005, was held Friday at Henry Memorial Burial Park.
Pallbearers were Jeff Tarpley, Kelvin Muhammed, Kenneth Muhammed, Stan Muhammed and Jacob Muhammed.
