Cory Alexander Brady, age 16, died Monday, January 7, 2002 in MVC after suffering from a long time illness. Cory was born June 28, 1985 in Richmond, VA., the son of Charles A. Brady of Richmond and Shari T. Cheek of FlA. He attended Thomas Jefferson High School and Hatcher Memorial Baptist Church. In addition to his parents he is survived by three brothers, Paul Edward Brady and Charles A. Brady III, both of Richmond and Phillip L. Cheek of Iowa. The family will receive friends 7 to 8:30 P.M. Mary Louise Chiles, 91, of Richmond, died January 6, 2002 at St. Mary's Hospital. She was born April 22, 1910, the daughter of Roy H. and Nellie Wright Chiles. She is survived by two sisters, Eleanor C. Thompson of Louisa and Margaret C. Lumsden and husband, Harry of Mineral; two sisters-in-law, Mrs. Roy Chiles Jr. of Richmond; and Mrs. Charles E. Chiles of Louisa; a number of cousins, nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. Miss Chiles was a retired assistant cafeteria manager at the Federal Reserve Bank. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday, Janaury 9, 2002, at Woodward Funeral Home, Louisa. Interment will be at Hillcrest Cemetery, Louisa. Irvin B. Christian Sr., 54, of Richmond, went home to be with his Lord January 5, 2002. He was the twelfth child of the late Amos and Hattie M. Christian. He leaves to mourn his loving and devoted wife, Phyllis R. Christian; three daughters, Carolyn D. Christian, Brenda L. Richardson and Phyllis E. Reed (Roy); two sons, Irvin Jr. and Bernard Christian; a loving sister, Mrs. Mary F. Cohen; three brothers, Harold W., Frederick D. and Elton G. Christian; 18 grandchildren; six sisters-in-law, one brother-in-law, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. Remains rest at Scott's Funeral Home, 115 East Brookland Park Blvd., where the family will receive friends Wednesday from 7 to 8 p.m. After 12 noon Thursday, remains will rest in Sharon Baptist Church, corner of First and Leigh Streets, where funeral services will be held at 1 p.m., Rev. Lettie Cozart, 75, of Richmond, died January 8, 2002. She was preceded in death by her husband, Howard Cozart and her son, Mac Harper. Survivors include her four children, James "Joe" Harper, Doris Harper, Joyce Barba and Frank Harper Sr.; two sisters, Mary Lee and Eva Hall; 17 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. Her remains rest at the Bliley Funeral Home's Chippenham Chapel, 6900 Hull Street Rd., where the family will receive friends from 12 to 8 p.m. Wednesday (today) and where services will be held 11 a.m. Thursday. CROUCH
Thomas C. Crouch Jr., age 90, passed away January 6, 2002. A Richmond attorney for over 50 years, he was a graduate of the University of Richmond and honors graduate of the T.C.
Williams School of Law. As a youth, he lived with his grandmother's large family on historic Linden Row. He served in the U.S. Army during WWII. His many hobbies included his amateur radio station, W4CRG, music, woodworking and writing short stories. He had also been a member of the Isaac Walton League. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Gloria H. Crouch; and his daughter, Jennifer C. Dickinson. Private memorial services at a later date.
DAVIS
Margaret Thompson Davis of Arlington, Va. died Wednesday, Janaury 2, 2002. She was the daughter of the late William Dailee and Minnie Wray Thompson; devoted mother of Dr. Dan McDougal, Cathy Khan and Marvin Davis; loving sister of George and Kenneth Thompson of DeWitt and Mattie McLaughlin. Also survived by seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Friday at 2 p.m. in the Petersburg Chapel of J.T. Morriss Funeral Home. Calvin Rogers Evans, 54, of Sandston, Va., died January 6, 2002. Survivors include his two children, Laura Ann Leblanc and her husband, Dennis, and Edward Rogers Evans and his wife, Karen; his granddaughters, Candice and Kelsie Hunter; his former wife, Lorida Evans. He was loved and will be missed by his family and friends. Mr. Evans served in the U.S. Air Force. He was an active member of the Virginia Sidebanders, and a dedicated employee of Reid Tool and Supply Co. Willie E. "Monk" Glass died in Richmond, Monday, January 7, 2002. He is survived by his wife, Bertha M. Glass; his sons, Willard R. and James W. Glass; his daughters, Eleanor Burke and Geneva Nunnally; 13 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren. Frances Durham Goff, 80, of Charlottesville, died Monday, January 7, 2002, in a local nursing home. Born August 24, 1921 in Charlottesville, she was the daughter of the late Tucker Strickler and Marie Masenheimer Durham. She was also preceded in death by her husband, David Harper Goff. She worked with Dr. George Cooper in the Radiology Department at the University of Virginia with 8 1/2 years of service and retired September 23, 1981 from Martha Jefferson Hospital Central Supply, where she was responsible for purchasing medical supplies used on floors throughout the hospital. She was a member of Belmont Baptist Church and the Naomi Sunday School class. Survivors include several beloved cousins and friends. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, January 11, 2002, at Hill & Wood Chapel with Rev. Gary Dalton officiating. Interment will follow at Monticello Memory Gardens. Kirkwood Benjamin Hall, 76, of Kinsale, died on Monday, January 7, 2002. Mr. Hall was member of Coles Point United Methodist Church and a veteran of WWII. He is survived by six sisters; Mary Clark, Kinsale, Louise Mathis, Yorktown, Laura Copehaver, Mine Run, Va., Ruth Conklin, Montross, Betty Allard, Welcome, Md. and Charlotte Hutt, Montross; his companion, Carolyn Wood; seven nieces and 12 nephews. He was preceded in death by a sister, Margaret Clark. A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, January 10 at the Welch Funeral Home, Montross with burial in Carmel United Methodist Church Cemetery. Win Wood Ham of Richmond died on January 4, 2002 after a lengthy illness. Mr. Ham was the retired manager of Gilmour Court Apartments. He was a member of The Hermitage Country Club where he was an avid golfer. He was a member of Sigma Chi fraternity and the Church of the Holy Comforter. He is survived by his wife, Lucile Ham; and two nephews, Roy Campbell of Lake Norman, N.C. and Michael Ham of Charlotte, N.C. There will be a memorial service Thursday, January 10 at 10:30 a.m. at the Church of the Holy Comforter, 4819 Monument Ave. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be sent to the Church of the Holy Comforter in his memory.

Departed this life January 4, 2002 in a local hospital, Tazwell Lee Hampton of Dunsville, Va. He is survived by his wife, Thelma Tavares Hampton; one daughter, Tracy Coote of North Carolina; four sons, Tazwell L. Hampton Jr., George E. Hampton, Brian Hampton, all of Connecticut and Keith Coote of West Virginia. The body will lie in state January 11, from 2 to 7 p.m., at Washington Funeral Home, Tappahannock and on Saturday, January 12, from 11 a.m. until the hour of service, at Angel Visit Baptist Church, Dunnsville, Va., where funeral services will be held at 1 p.m., Father Vincent Hodge, vicar.
