Donald W. Kramer, 67, of Kinsdale, died on Monday, December 10, 2001. He was a retired plumber for Washington National Airport. Survivors are his wife, Clara Kramer; two sons, Donald Kramer of Fredericksburg and James Kramer of Huntington, Md.; a daughter, Brenda K. Pearson of Lucama, N.C.; four brothers, Joe Kramer of Lanham, Md., Chuck Kramer of Hyattsville, Md., Bobby and Raymond Kramer of Calabash, N.C.; two sisters, Doris Taylor of Millville, Del and Margaret "Sissy" Kramer of Upper Marlboro, Md.; six grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Sophie J. Lewis, 96, of Hanover County, entered into eternal rest on December 10, 2001. She was predeceased by her husband, Mitchell Lewis. She is survived by her children, Deacon Edward Lee (Josephine) Lewis, Linwood Lewis, Martha Wilson, Earl Lewis and Julia (Willie) Dendy; two sisters, Ellen May Lewis and Ruby Preston; and a host of other relatives and friends. Lola Presley Little, 88, of Richmond, went to be with the Lord on December 9, 2001. Mrs. Little was former director of Child Evangelism Fellowship of Richmond and a member of Gospel Baptist Church. She is survived by her daughters, Margie L. Rigby of Smiths Station, Ala., Charlsie L. Long of Richmond and Lorraine L. Sculthorp of York, Pa.; son, Earl M. Little of Richmond; sisters, Betty Murphy of Mt. Holly, N.C. and Helen Bland of Gastonia, N.C.; brothers, Curtis and Houston Presley of Belmont, N.C., Wade Presley of Hope, Ark. and Brady Presley of Easley, S.C.; 12 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, five great-great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Morrissett Funeral Home, 6500 Iron Bridge Rd. (Rt. 10). On Saturday, December 8, 2001, Mrs. Agnes V. "Cee" Miller responded when the angel of silence whispered her name as a soul winged its flight home. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a brother, grandson and two great-grandsons. She leaves to celebrate her life one daughter, Bessie (Ralph); six sons, Pleasant Jr. (Freida), Lindsey (Fredonia), Raymond (Zarella), David (Louise), Frankie (Georgia) and Franklin; 23 grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren, one sister-in-law, one brother-in-law and a host of other relatives and friends, among them a very special friend, Mrs. Gurtha Robinson. Ervin Miller, 83, of Midlothian, died December 10, 2001. MITCHELL
Charles W. "Bubba" Mitchell, 82, of Richmond, passed away Tuesday, December 11, 2001 after a lengthy illness. Mr. Mitchell was the husband of Edna Jane Mitchell, and was a devoted husband and father. He is survived by his daughter, Sherry Beadles and her husband, David; his son, Terry Mitchell and his wife, Cheryl; three grandchildren, Lisa Thomas, Brett and Scottye Mitchell; two great-granddaughters, Elizabeth and Catherine Thomas; brothers, John J. and Carlton Mitchell; and sisters, Virginia Throckmorton and Anna Carter. Mr. Mitchell was a WWII Navy veteran and retired in 1981 after a 30 year career as a member of the Plumbers and Steamfitters Union Local No. 10. This year Mr. Mitchell reached the 50 year membership milestone in Local No. 10. The family will receive friends Wednesday, December 12, 6 to 8 p.m. and Thursday, December 13, from 9 to 10 a.m. at Nelsen Funeral Home, 4650 S. NORMAN
Louise Pettit Norman died Sunday, December 9, 2001. She was born November 28, 1908 in Big Stone Gap, Va., the daughter of Kate Ayers Pettit and Leonard Overton Pettit. She was the widow of James Wood Norman Jr. Survivors include her daughter, Louise Hoffman and her husband, Laing; two granddaughters, Katherine Doman and her husband, Mark and Louise O'Connor and her husband, Rory; three great-grandchildren, Annie, Maggie and John Michael O'Connor. There will be a private service in Palmyra, Va. at the Pettit family cemetery at a later date. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Foundation.
PEDERSEN
Mrs. Alma Packett Pedersen, 97, a native of Richmond County, passed away December 10, 2001 at the Warsaw Healthcare Center. The second of 12 children of Andrew and Margaret Hinson Packett, she was born August 23, 1904 at Totuskey Bridge where her father was a black
Smith and her mother ran a boarding house. In 1910, she moved with her family to a farm outside Warsaw and she graduated from Warsaw High School in 1922. She attended the College of William and Mary, which had just opened its doors to female students, for two years, earning a teaching certificate. After teaching in Virginia public schools for several terms she moved to Richmond where she was employed at Thalhimer's Department Store. Following retirement from Thalhimer's she returned to Warsaw in 1968 and resided at her home on Richmond Road until moving to the Warsaw Healthcare Center in 1995. She was the last surviving charter member of Warsaw Baptist Church, the last surviving member of her high school class, a member of the Chantilly Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution, the Menokin Homemakers Club and a former member of the United Daughters of the Confederacy. She is survived by a sister, Mildred Lewis of Richmond; two of her husband's nieces, Birthe Nielsen of Canada and Kirsten Mortensen of Denmark; and 10 beloved nieces and nephews plus numerous grand nieces and nephews, and great-grand nieces and nephews. Her husband Karl B. Pedersen, a native of Denmark, died in 1962. Funeral services will be held at Warsaw Baptist Church on Thursday, December 13, at 2 p.m. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. PULLEY
David T. "Cha-Cha" Pulley Sr., 85, of Chesterfield, went to be with the Lord Tuesday, December 11, 2001. He was preceded in death by his wife, Ada Pulley and is survived by a daughter, Diane Pulley O'Connell; grandchildren, Debbie Moseley, David Wayne Pulley, Ronald Thomas Pulley, Jay O'Connell III, Aprill McDonald and Lisa Lynn Pulley; great-grandchildren, Keith, Christopher, John, Rachel, Ceara, Dilynn, Dakoyta and Nydia; brother, Warren Pulley; and sisters, Gracie and Lula. Mr. Pulley retired from Reynolds Metals after 32 years of service and was a veteran of WWII. He was in the Battle of Normandy (D-Day), a member of the 14th Armored Division and a U.S. Army tech sergeant. He was a reconnaissance crewman who received many decorations and awards, including the Good Conduct Medal, American Defense Service Medal, European/African/Middle Eastern Service Medal. He was also awarded five Bronze Stars. Mr. Pulley was from a family of 14 and was a devoted hunter and sportsman. He was a member of Buford Rd. Baptist Church since 1972. His remains rest at the Bliley Funeral Home's Chippenham Chapel, 6900 Hull Street Rd., where the family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday and where funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Friday. Interment follows in Maury Cemetery.

Matylda Virginia Ondrovich Rhoades, age 87, widow of Cecil Marion Rhoades, went home to be with our Lord December 10, 2001. Our beloved mother was preceded in death by her daughter, JoAnne Rhoades Magee. She is survived by three daughters, Cecil Marion R. Pierce, Shirley R. Jenkins and husband, Kenneth and Janice R. Zimmerman and husband, Euguene; one son, Robert F. Rhoades Sr. and wife, Myrtle; sister, Natalie O. Steele and husband, Paul Steele Sr; sisters-in-law, Allene Rhoades, Nedra Fuller, Nancy Payne and Iva Ondrovich; grandchildren, Pamela P. Robillard, Patricia P. Swinson, Donna P. Smith, Clifton P. Matylda was a life-long member of Poplar Springs Baptist Church, where she played piano for the church and choir for many years. She loved children, pets and especially music, and taught all of her children, most of her grandchildren and some great grandchildren how to play the piano, as well as occasional outside students. Margaret celebrated life very simply, taking joy in raising her children and nurturing her grandchildren. Life's challenges were welcomed silently and always with an open heart. Mr. Osborne Robert Satterfield of 200 Monroe Street, South Boston, Va., died December 10, 2001 at Halifax Regional Hospital. He was born in Halifax County, Va. on December 1, 1916 and was 85 years old. He was the son of Mr. Edward Osborne Satterfield and Mrs. Hallie Tuck Satterfield and was married to Edith Loftis Satterfield. He was a member of the Ash Avenue Baptist Church where he was a deacon and former trustee, a member of Faulkner Memorial Masonic Lodge No. 91, a member of AARP, and Town and Country Senior Citizens. Mr. Osborne Robert Satterfield is survived by his wife, Mrs. Edith L. Satterfield of South Boston; one son and daughter-in-law, Mr. Robert O. and Susan Hapgood Satterfield of Afton; three grandchildren, Shannon S.
