Ruth Golden Morrow, 80, of Richmond, died December 22, 2000. She was the widow of Harry V. Morrow. She is survived by her children, Harry W. Morrow and his wife, Susan, Richard V. Morrow and Nancy M. Underwood and her husband, Jody of Clayton, N.C.; stepmother, Bessie Golden of Vernon, Vt.; brother, Thomas Golden; and sisters, Carol Mikuski and Maureen Pinger, all of Brattleboro, Vt. Her remains rest at the Bliley Funeral Home's Central Chapel, 3801 Augusta Ave., where the family will receive friends 12 to 2 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, and where a Christian Wake will be held 7 p.m. Tuesday. Carolyn G. Norment, 67, of Richmond, widow of Robert M. Norment, passed away December 22, 2000. She is survived by her daughter, Stacie N. Ahlin and her husband, Craig of Richmond; two sisters, Frances Gilmer of Chester, and Shirley Miller of Roanoke Rapids, N.C.; two grandchildren, Brennan and Ryan Ahlin of Richmond. Mrs. Norment was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church. She was a retired employee of Virginia Power and Woody Funeral Home. The family will receive friends Tuesday 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at the Parham Chapel, Woody Funeral Home, 1771 Parham Rd., where services will be held Wednesday, 11 a.m. Interment Westhampton Memorial Park. Myrtle J. Scott, age 76, died suddenly December 22, 2000 of heart failure. She is survived by her beloved husband of 55 years, Raymond A. Scott Sr.; six children, R.A. Scott Jr. of Dallas, Texas, Paul Scott, Peggy Scott Edwards, Olin Scott, Lewis Scott and Lisa Scott Kinney, all of Richmond; ten grandchildren; two sisters, Olivia Alley of Florida and Jackie Bishop of Richmond. Mrs. Scott was an active member of a Senior Bowling Team for 19 years. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Bliley Funeral Home's Chippenham Chapel, 6900 Hull St. Rd. Rev. Mary Davis Guerrant Thompson, widow of U.S. District Judge Roby C. Thompson, died Monday, December 25, 2000. She was preceded in death by her father and mother, Dr. and Mrs. E.P. Guerrant of Winchester, Kentucky. She is survived by her four children, Mary Lucy Siewers and her husband, John, Margaret Thompson Johnson, both of Richmond, Va., Dr. Roby C. Franklin Adair Tyler Jr., age 72, of 3825 Stratford Rd., Richmond, died December 21, 2000 at home. He is survived by his wife, Nancy Tyler; daughter, Nancy Lee Tyler; and dear family friend, Mary Jane Brown. He retired from Philip Morris USA as Director of Training and Development in 1992. He was an active member of the Sons of Confederate Veterans, JEB Stuart Camp 1343, and a member of Christ the King Lutheran Church. Prior business experience includes C&P Telephone Company, Bell Telephone Laboratories, and White Sands Nike Guided Missile Program. He graduated from VPI in 1953 and served with the U.S. Army in Korea. A memorial service will be held 2 p.m. December 28 at Christ The King Lutheran Church, 9800 Huguenot Rd. Mattie Davis Webber, 90, of Richmond, passed away December 23, 2000. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Paschal Webber; and her parents, Nannie Burk Davis and Thomas Lee Davis. She is survived by one daughter, Nannie McClendon of Bogalusa, La.; one son, Herbert Bradshaw Doss of Burkeville, Va.; one devoted nephew, George J. Davis and his wife, Leah; five grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Webber retired from American Tobacco Co., after 45 years of service, and was a member of Friendship Baptist Church. WELLFORD
Anne Toole Rotter Wellford of Sabine Hall, Warsaw, Va., died in her home early on the morning of December 23, 2000. She was 92. Born in Raleigh, N.C. in 1908, she was the daughter of the late, Reverend and Mrs. Sanford Louis Rotter of The Plains, Va. One of four children, she was a graduate of St. Catherine's School in Richmond, and received her B.A. from Sweet Briar College in Amherst, Va. in 1929. Married first in 1936 to Alexander Marshall Mullikin of Baltimore, they lived in Winter Haven, Fla. until his death in 1962. In 1969, she married her childhood friend, the late, Robert
Carter Wellford III of Sabine Hall. They had known each other as children in The Plains, where their parents had been close friends. Toole, an avid and knowledgeable gardener, was active in the Garden Clubs of Warsaw and Winter Haven. She devoted herself to her family and to Sabine Hall and its history. She and
Carter reveled in every aspect of life on an old Virginia farm and spent their years together ensuring that Sabine Hall, its land and marshes were preserved for the generations to follow. She was an active member of St. John's Church, Warsaw. Keen on sports and the outdoors, she and
Carter patrolled the shoreline of their beloved Rappahannock and Little Carter's Creek, fishing together late into spring, summer and autumn evenings. She is survived by a sister, Frances Rotter Rome of Baltimore; three stepchildren, Beverley Wellford Rowland of Wilmington, Robert
