MARSCHAK
D. Romayne Marschak, age 80, of Richmond, passed away Tuesday, May 1, 2001. She is survived by her husband of 53 years, Richard L. Marschak; three children, Beth Marschak, Cheryl Marschak and husband, Dale Gilmer, and Darlene A. Marschak and husband, Bill Mowrey, all of Richmond; one brother, Dudley "Dutch" Ayle and wife, Judy of DuBois, Pa.; also two grandchildren, Robin S. Marschak and Charlie T. Gilmer. Mrs. Marschak was born in Altoona, Pa., and had lived in Richmond since 1954. She was a member of Derbyshire Baptist Church and its Joy Club, WMU, and a nursery worker. She was a co-owner of Marschak Realty, charter member and advocate of the Women's Veterans War Memorial. She served as a first lieutenant nurse during WWII. She was also a licensed pilot, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother and friend, who will be missed by all who knew her. The family will receive friends at the Parham Chapel, Woody Funeral Home, 1771 Parham Rd., from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, May 3, and where a memorial service will be conducted 11 a.m. Friday. Dorothy S. Marsh of 1920 Stonewall Ave., departed this life May 1, 2001. She was preceded in death by her son, Robert L. Marsh. She leaves to cherish her memory two sons, Julian C. and Spencer R. Marsh; one daughter, Edwina J. Oliver; one daughter-in-law, Barbara L. Marsh; four grandsons, Ernest, Christopher, Jeffery and Joseph; granddaughters, Denise, Deborah and Altravise; aunt, Josephine Crumley; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Mrs. Imogen Andrews Mitchell, 94, of Tappahannock, died Thursday, May 3, 2001. She was the widow of Bernard H. Mitchell and a member of Beale Memorial Baptist Church. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Hampton and Geneva Mitchell of Richmond; three grandchildren, Bernard Edward Mitchell and Jennifer Hope Mitchell, both of Richmond, Jeffrey Hampton Mitchell of Kingsport, Tenn.; two stepgrandchildren, Richard Allison of Abingdon and Michael Allison of Louisa; and four great-grandchildren. Dr. Linda Ann Moore, 47, of Virginia Beach, died May 2, 2001, at her parents' home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 1 p.m. Friday, May 4, at St. Nicholas Catholic Church by the Rev. R. Francis Muench. Interment will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery, Norfolk. PEYRONNET
Marion Stuart Miller Peyronnet, 84, passed away Monday, April 30, 2001, in Boca Raton, Fla. Until her move to Florida in 1993, Mrs. Peyronnet had been a lifelong resident of Richmond, graduating from Westhampton College. Beginning her teaching career in a one-room school house in Carson, Va., she retired in 1983 from Skipwith Elementary School in Henrico County after 25 years of teaching. Her passions were children, reading, gardening, bird-watching and nature. Mrs. Peyronnet was a member of the Three Chopt Garden Club and St. Andrews United Methodist Church. Before the church moved to the West End, she was a member and Sunday school teacher at Laurel Street United Methodist on Oregon Hill. She was an associate member of First United Methodist Church of Boca Raton. Her family and friends will remember her determination and love of life. For her no one was a stranger. Mrs. Peyronnet was preceded in death by her husband, James F. Peyronnet; and her sister-in-law, Julia B. Miller. She is survived by her brother, William Edwin Miller Jr. of Richmond; two daughters, Carolyn P. Timberlake and son-in-law, Merv "Tim" Timberlake of Boca Raton, and Mary P.

Bessie R. Ragland, 98, of Buckingham, died May 3, 2001. She is survived by her daughter, Helen R. Mika of Buckingham and a number of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by two daughters, Emily Ragland and Lois Dorrain. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. at Mulberry Grove Baptist Church with interment in the church cemetery. Eric Xavier Robinson, 11, of Chesterfield, went to be with the Lord May 2, 2001. He is survived by his mother, Sandra Robinson; his fostermother, Wanda Moore; maternal grandmother, Louise K. Bracy; a host of relatives and friends. Eric was a fourth grader at Chalkley Elementary School. Katherine Elizabeth Sneed, 79, of Richmond, died Wednesday, May 2, 2001. She was the widow of James H. Sneed and she is survived by three children, James Edward and wife, Elizabeth Sneed, Margaret and husband, Alfred Dowdy, and Charles Henry Sneed; one sister, Gloria June Talley; one brother, Irvin Throckmorton; seven grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Sneed was a retired employee of the Union Envelope Co. and a member of Calvary United Methodist Church. Remains rest at the Nelsen Funeral Home, 4650 S. Mrs. Elaine B. Teator, 63 of Aylett, Va., died on Wednesday, May 2, 2001. She was the daughter of Hollis and Regina Bonsey of Portsmouth, N.H. She is survived by her husband, Frederick E. Teator of Aylett, Va.; a son, Thomas T. Teator of Tulsa, Okla.; three daughters, Holly J. Teator Galaris of Doha, Qatar, Gina C. DeJoy of Bluehill, Maine and Tracy L. Giza of Las Vegas, Nevada; seven grandchildren, and numerous relatives. Mrs, Teator was a longtime summer resident of Maine. George Junior Timmons, age 70, of Mechanicsville, died Tuesday, May 1, 2001. He was predeceased by his parents, George and Rachel Timmons. He is survived by three children, Michael W., George C. and Rachel C. Timmons; a brother, Milton R. Timmons; two sisters, Shirley M. Timmons and Carolyn L. Nelsen; a niece, Dawn M. Varnier; and six grandchildren. Lyndes Virginia Thomas Walker, 78, passed away on April 29, 2001 after a lengthy illness. A native of Warsaw, Virginia she rendered 36 years of service to the Richmond County public schools as an elementary school teacher. Her entire career was devoted to her allegiance to the Lord, teaching and the welfare of her family. Left to cherish her memory is her husband of 54 years, Jessie L. Walker Sr.; two sons, Jesse Jr. and Edward; daughters-in-law, Monica, Theresa; two grandchildren, Joelle and Kerrell; granddaughter-in-law, Taene; one great-grandson, Kamron; a sister-in-law, Henrietta Hardy; an aunt, Viola Tabb; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. George B. Williams, 68, of Richmond, died May 2, 2001. Survivors include his fiancee, Donna Smith, who had made his last six years extremely happy; his daughter, Sandra Williams-Dick and son-in-law, Vincent Dick; sister, Madeline Schools; sister-in-law, Violet Williams; nephews, Bucky Schools and Skip Williams; and niece, Wanda Towberman. George was a loving and supporting father to Sandra and had just learned he was expecting his first grandchild. He was like a father to his nephew, Bucky. George enjoyed "piddling" with his many projects, including his boat "U-an-I". He was a unique and special person who will be missed by many. George was a lifelong resident of Richmond. He was retired from the RRHA after 30 years of service. Carrie Moore Bradner, age 94, of Charlotte Court House, died Sunday, June 2, 2002. She was preceded in death by her husband, Archer Carr Bradner; and a son, J. C. Bradner Sr. She was a retired school teacher. Surviving are four grandchildren, J. C. Bradner Jr., Fawn B. Fitz, Tanya B. Currin and Samantha Dunn Miller, six great-grandchildren. Lucille M. Butler went to be the Lord Saturday, June 1, 2002. She is survived by two sons, Douglas and Steve Dillon; daughter-in-law, Jackie Dillon; two grandchildren, Brad and Matt Dillon; three sisters, Josephine Williams, Trinkle Lacks and Nancy Thornton. She will be missed by her family and friends. She will be laid to rest on Tuesday, June 4 at Daytona Memorial Park.

Anthony A. Covins, a resident of Bradenton, Fla., passed away Friday, May 31, 2002 in Mechanicsville, Va., where he had been staying with his son. He was born in Bradford, Pa. on May 29, 1913. He is survived by his son, Lawrence Covins II of Mechanicsville, Va. and his grandson, Brian L. Covins of Tampa, Fla. He retired in 1969 after a 33-year career with the U.S. State Department and U.S. Information Agency. Interment will be in Bradenton, Fla.
