BURDEN
George L. Burden, 92, of New Castle, formerly of Richmond, passed away Wednesday, December 27, 2000. He was retired from Investors Diversified Services and served in the United States Army during World War II. He was a long-time member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Richmond. He was preceded in death by his son, Warren Burden. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Isebelle Page Burden; daughter, Mary Page Cosby of New Castle; son-in-law, Frank A. Cosby; daughter-in-law, Charlotte Burden of Richmond; grandchildren, Michael Cosby of Roanoke, Amy and Bryan Burden of Richmond, Amy Rodriques of Fredericksburg; two great-grandchildren; and a sister, Florence Dellinger of Danielsville, Georgia. Services will be held 2 p.m. Friday, December 29, 2000 at the mausoleum at Westhampton Memorial Park, Richmond, with Dr. John Peters officiating. Memorial gifts may be made to the Trinity United Methodist Church Memorial Fund, Forest Avenue, Richmond. Arrangements handled by Paitsel Funeral Home, New Castle, Va.

BURTON
Kenneth Wayne Burton, 36, of Glen Allen, departed on December 26, 2000. He was preceded in death by his father, Benny C. Burton; and his brother, Marvin E. Burton. He is survived by his wife, Annette McReynolds Burton; two sons, Adam and Andrew Burton; his mother, Edith Burton; sister, Shelby Burton White; his father and mother-in-law, William N. and Betty D. McReynolds; three nieces and six nephews. Mr. Burton was a native of Hanover and a small business owner of Burton's Paint and Body Shop. His remains rest at the Bliley Funeral Home's Staples Mill Chapel, 8510 Staples Mill Rd., where the family will receive friends 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, and where funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Friday. Interment Westhampton Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to the American Heart Association.

Cordell C. Callahan of 3406 "S" St. entered eternal rest December 22, 2000. A eulogistic service will be conducted Friday, 1 p.m. at the Greater Mount Moriah Baptist Church, Rev. CHEN
Kein Oai Chen of Richmond died Tuesday, December 26, 2000. She was the widow of Fee Shaing Chow. She is survived by two sons, four daughters, 32 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren. Her remains rest at the Bliley Funeral Home's Staples Mill Chapel, 8510 Staples Mill Rd., where a Buddhist Wake Service will be held 6:30 p.m. Friday and where services will be held 9:30 a.m. Saturday. Interment Riverview Cemetery.

DAMERON
Miriam Layne Dameron, 86, a longtime resident of Franklin, died December 26, 2000. Mrs. Dameron, a native of Goochland Co., was a daughter of the late George and Carrie Layne, and was the widow of Thomas Judkins Dameron Sr. Survivors include her daughter, Nancy D. Scott and her husband, Bobby C. Turner of Franklin; her son, Thomas J. Dameron Jr. and his wife, Beverly of Annandale; a sister, Evelyn L. Bowles of Richmond; three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Funeral services to be conducted at 2 p.m. today in the chapel of Wright Funeral Home, with burial in Poplar Spring Cemetery. Expressions of sympathy may be made in the form of contributions to the American Heart Association or Franklin Baptist Church.

DAVIS
Dr. Kenneth E. Davis, 31, of Ashland, died Christmas night, December 25, 2000 at Memorial Regional Medical Center with his family present ending his three year battle with pancreatic cancer. He was born in Roanoke and graduated from Lord Botetourt High School. He went to Richmond graduating from VCU in 1991 with a degree in chemistry. Four years later, he graduated from MCV with his medical degree. He attended residency at the Medical College of Virginia and completed in May 2000. Since then he has worked as an orthopedic surgeon at West End Orthopedic Center, Mechanicsville. He was predeceased by his mother, Loretta Davis. Ken is survived by his wife, Dr. Gina Davis; a daughter, Amanda, age 15 months; his parents, Earl and Shelby Davis; sister and brothers, Vicky Belle Isle, Robbie Davis, Todd Stone; and a niece, Alicia Lawrence, all residing in the Roanoke area. A memorial service will be held Thursday, December 28 at 7 p.m. at St. Luke's Lutheran Church, Richmond. Funeral services will be conducted from Glade Creek Lutheran Church, Blue Ridge, Saturday, December 30, 2000 at 1 p.m. Burial will be in Glade Creek Cemetery. In lieu of flowers or gifts, contributions may be made to the Amanda Davis Scholarship Fund or the Dr. Kenneth Davis MCV Orthopedics Resident's Fund. For further information, contact Catherine N. DeATLEY
Hazel Roadcap DeAtley of Jacksonville, Fla., formerly of Mechanicsville, died December 24, 2000. She is survived by her husband, Robert L. DeAtley Sr.; her daughters, Patricia D. Vitito of Jacksonville and Wanda D. Umphlet of Richmond; a son, Robert L. DeAtley Jr. of Mechanicsville; eight grandchildren and a great-granddaughter. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday (today) at the Mechanicsville Chapel of the Bennett Funeral Home, 8014 Lee Davis Rd., where services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, December 29, 2000, with burial in Signal Hill Memorial Park.

DELBRIDGE
Joseph E. "Tadpole" Delbridge, 54, of Emporia, died Tuesday, December 26, 2000. Survivors include his wife, Gloria M. Delbridge; two sons, Gerald Delbridge and wife, Melissa and Kevin Delbridge; daughter, Kimberley N. Delbridge; one granddaughter, Heaven Delbridge, all of Emporia; a brother, George Thomas Delbridge and wife, Alice of Roanoke Rapids, N.C.; three sisters, Molly D. Harrup and her husband, Payne of Emporia, Peggy D. King of Littleton, N.C., Brenda D. Romines and husband, Olin of Franklin; and a half sister, Christine D. Williams and husband, Ray of Gaston, N.C. The family will receive friends 7 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday (tonight) at Owen Funeral Home in Jarratt, where the funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Friday, December 29, 2000. Interment Emporia Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to the American Lung Association.

DOWNEY
Rosemarie Nolte Downey, formerly of Richmond, Va. She is survived by her husband, Dennis Downey; and four children and seven grandchildren, all of Pennsylvania; her mother, Violet Nolte Vaughan; three sisters, Patricia Tootie Lewis, Ruth Radwni and Robin St. John; two brothers, Roy Lee (Mike Nolte) and Odell (Butch) Vaughan, who are from Richmond, Va. She will be laid to rest on December 28, 2000 in Monroeville, Pa., where she lived for the last 30 years.

DRAYTON
Mrs. Katie H. Drayton of Boston Ave., departed this life December 25, 2000. She is survived by a devoted companion, John Jackson; three sisters, Sarah Clyburn, Birdie Hartsfield and devoted, Christine Williams; a host of nieces, among them, Celeste Hartsfield; nephews and cousins, other relatives and friends. Remains rest at the Mimms Funeral Home, 19th and Hull Sts., where funeral services will be held Friday, December 29, 1 p.m., Rev. Ricardo Brown officiating. Interment in Maury Cemetery. Relatives and friends attending funeral services, assemble at the funeral home Friday, 12:30 p.m.

Departed this life December 25, 2000, Mrs. Gladys T. Goldson of 4908-B Chamberlayne Ave. She was preceded in death by her husband, Alto L. Goldson Sr.; and a son, John Glasgow Jr. She is survived by one son, Alto L. Goldson Jr.; one daughter, Alva M. Goldson; four grandchildren, Brandon Goldson, Yvette Keesee, John Glasgow III and Lavdena Orr; three great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews; one aunt, Clayte Seabron; two daughters-in-law, Bernette Goldson and Gloria Glasgow; other relatives and friends. Remains rest at Walter J. Manning Funeral Home, 700 N. 25th St., where funeral services will be held Friday 11 a.m. Dr. Benjamin W. Robertson officiating. Burial Oakwood Cemetery.

George M. Graves of Richmond died Wednesday, December 27, 2000. He is survived by his wife, Lula N. Graves; a son, George Manly Graves II of California; a brother, Melvin A. Hicks of Georgia; and several nieces and nephews. Mr. Graves retired from Virginia Power after 31 years of service. The family will receive friends 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Friday at the Parham Chapel, Woody Funeral Home, 1771 Parham Rd., where services will be conducted 2 p.m. Saturday. Interment in Greenwood Memorial Gardens.

GRAY
Annie Lee Terry Gray, 76, of Doswell, died December 27, 2000. She was the widow of E. Ryland Gray Sr. She is survived by three sons, Emmett R. Gray Jr. and his wife, Elsie, Terry Lee Gray and Billy Gray; a brother, James Milton Terry; a sister, Dorothy T. Southworth; two granddaughters, Pamela Gray Gagnon and Katherine Lindsey Gray; a great-grandson, Ryland P. Gagnon. The family will receive friends 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, in Reid Funeral Home, 412 Washington Hwy., Ashland, where funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Friday. Interment Signal Hill Memorial Park.

HARRIS
Dorothy Jasey Harris of 1425 Oakwood Ave. died December 26, 2000. Remains rest at Scott's Funeral Home, 115 E. Brookland Park Blvd. Funeral notice later.

HENEGAR
Clarence William Henegar, 71, of Chester, went home with Jesus taking him by the hand on December 26, 2000 in Chippenham Medical Center, following an illness. He was born in Meadowview, Va., a son of the late Charles C. and Sallie Glass Henegar. Survivors include his wife, Betty Henegar of Chester; two sons, Dennis Henegar of Chester, Gerald Henegar and his wife, Kimberly of Colonial Heights; a daughter, Carol Townsend and her husband, Donnie of Petersburg; four grandchildren, Rachelle and Katti Henegar of Chester, Brianna and Michaela Henegar of Colonial Heights; three sisters, Edith Berry of Mooresville, N.C., Marie Pierce of Abingdon, Va., Peggy Bailey of Meadowview, Va.; two brothers, Bobby Henegar of Meadowview and Wayne Henegar of Christiansburg. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, December 29 in the Chesterfield Chapel of J. T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home, 3050 W. Hundred Rd., with Pastor Stanley Turnbull of the First Assembly of God of Petersburg officiating. The interment will follow in Centralia Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home tonight from 7 to 8:30 p.m.

HOGGE
Althea Bradby Hogge, a resident of Providence Forge, went to be with the Lord Tuesday, December 26, 2000, at the age of 74. She is survived by her sisters, Marjorie Stewart and Helen Gibbs; and her brother, Leon Bradby. She is also survived by her daughters, Linda Adkins, Shirley Hogge and Joanne Howard; and by her sons, Dennis, Lon, Kerry, William, Norman and David Hogge. She is also survived by a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Services will be held Friday, December 29, at 3 p.m. at Tsena Commocko Baptist Church. Visitation will be held at the church two hours prior to service time. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Tsena Commocko Baptist Church.

HOSTETTER
Graham Lee Hostetter, 89, of Dublin, Va., formerly of Rockbridge County and Chesterfield County, widower of Lenna Jennings Hostetter, passed away Sunday, December 24, 2000. He is survived by a daughter and her spouse, Jeanne R. and Jerry Woo of Richmond; two sons, William (Pete) P. Hostetter and his wife, Karen and Jerry L. Hostetter; four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Mr. Hostetter was retired from Reynolds Metal Company after 27 years and was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church. Remains rest at the Central Chapel of Bennett Funeral Home, 3215 Cutshaw Ave., where the family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday. A service will be held 1 p.m. Friday at Westminster Presbyterian Church with interment to follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made, in lieu of flowers, to Westminster Presbyterian Church, 4103 Monument Ave., Richmond, Virginia 23230.

HUTCHESON
Mary Leckie Read Hutcheson, 91, widow of Nathaniel Goode Hutcheson, died Tuesday, December 26, 2000. Born on March 19, 1909 in Palmer Springs, she was graduated from Louisburg College and Greensboro College, magna cum laude. In her early life, she taught in Mecklenburg County. Mrs. Hutcheson was a member of St. James Episcopal Church, a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution and the Huguenot Society. Survivors are a daughter, Dianitia Hutcheson of Chapel Hill, N.C.; a son and daughter-in-law, Nathaniel G. Jr. and Carol Hutcheson of Skipwith; one sister, Lucy McKenry of South Boston; a granddaughter, Linda Katherine Scherr of Richmond; two great-grandsons; and two nieces, Roberta Read Griffith of Newport News and Helen Hutcheson Massingill of Clarksville. Services will be held 1 p.m. Saturday at St. James Episcopal Church in Boydton with interment following in the church yard. Father Douglas Geddes will officiate. Family will receive friends 7 to 9 p.m. Friday evening at Watkins Cooper Lyon Funeral Home in Clarksville. Contributions may be made to the St. James Episcopal Church Yard Fund.
