Elizabeth Frances Burtchett Breeden, age 91, of Richmond, passed away on Monday morning, September 23, 2002 after a short illness. She was living at the Masonic Home of Virginia. She was born March 6, 1911, the daughter of the late James Nicholas Burtchett and Charlotte Brooks
Williams Burtchett. She was the widow of Marion Hazel
Jones of South Carolina and Richmond and Claude Edward Breeden of Richmond. She was also preceded in death by her brothers, Edward Hedgpeth, Richard Hedgpeth, James Burtchett and William Burtchett; and her sisters, Eva Hedgpeth Waters and Julia Burtchett Boulden. Elizabeth was an active member of Hatcher Memorial Baptist Church for over 50 years. She was retired from the Miller & Rhoads Department Stores. She loved ballroom dancing and took lessons at the age of 80 and danced for almost 10 years. Elizabeth was devoted to God and her family. Her family and friends will miss her very much. A special thank you to Dr. William Anderson and all the wonderful people at the Masonic Home of Virginia who assisted her in her final days. Mrs. Lula M. Bugg, age 88, of South Hill, died Sunday, September 22, 2002. Mrs. Bugg was the widow of Robert Henry Bugg and is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Mac and Carol Bugg of Chase City and Doug and Yvonne Bugg of South Hill; two daughters and son-in-law, Grace B. Hudson of Raleigh, N.C. and Diane B. and Jerry Allen of Jamestown, N.C.; eight grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren; and a sister, Edna M. Edgerton of Chase City. A celebration of life will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, September 25, 2002 by Rev. A.D. Goodson at Farrar Funeral Home with interment to follow in Oakwood Cemetery. Ruth Marie Cwiakala, 75, of Highland Springs, went to be with the Lord on September 23, 2002. Lelia Vaiden Darlington, a lifelong resident of Charles City County, died Monday, September 23, 2002 at her residence. Born and raised in Charles City, she was known to many as a loving aunt and was like a mother to her three nephews. She is survived by her brother, Edward W. Darlington Sr.; four nephews, Edward W. Darlington Jr. and his wife, Charlotte, James L. Darlington and his wife, Alice, Donald L. Theodore Fadool, 82, of Richmond, loving father and grandfather, passed away Monday, September 23, 2002. He was the widower of Christine Thompson Fadool and Guynell Ridley Fadool. He was preceded in death by his son, Thomas Fadool and is survived by two daughters, Theodora F. Donbrosky and Tamara F. Blankenship; two sons, Tony and Tim Fadool; two sisters, Sadie Sanyour and Alice Messina; three brothers, Daniel, John and Raymond Fadool; 19 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Mr. Fadool was the retired owner of The Massad House Coffee Shop. Clarence (Linnie) Puryear Jr., age 86, of Henrico, died September 23, 2002. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Louise Thurston Puryear; his two sons, Jerry and his wife, Sylvia and Bob and his wife, Brenda; two granddaughters, Kimberly Robertson and Amy Puryear; two great-grandchildren, Jessie Hope Robertson and Brendan Puryear. Mr. Puryear was a lifelong member of Bethlehem Baptist Church and a retired insurance underwriter for the State of Virginia. SADLER
Flora Virginia Hudgins Sadler passed away September 22, 2002 at Riverside Walter Reed Hospital, Gloucester. Born on October 5, 1916, Flora was a native and lifelong resident of Onemo, Mathews County. She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Ashley Sadler; parents, Brazoria Brooks Hudgins and Joel Randolph Hudgins; and sister, Lois Elaine Hudgins. She was a member of Bethel United Methodist Church. Flora was an intelligent and accomplished lady. She graduated from Winter Harbor School and Lee-Jackson High School in 1933 as the class salutatorian. Flora was a member of the Poetry Society of Va. She wrote poetry all her life and many poems were published including "I am The Chesapeake" in 1985. Music was also a joy for her. Flora was a member of the church choir, where she often played the piano at church, for the choir, MYF, Vacation Bible School and other special occasions. Her favorite piece was "The Black Hawk Waltz." She loved being outside working with her flowers with the company of her cats and dogs. She was a member of the Mathews County Woman's Club serving in many offices and on many committees. Her love of painting led Flora to be a charter member and first secretary of the Mathews Art Group. She had won many awards and ribbons for her beautiful watercolor paintings and also for decorative sewing. She is survived by her daughter, Linda Ruth Sadler Revere and husband, Sonny; brother, Randolph Brooks Hudgins and wife, Joyce; two nephews, Hugh
