Mr. William T. Greene Sr. of 6003 Willow Oaks Drive, Richmond, departed this life Tuesday, August 27, 2002 at McGuire Veterans Medical Center, Richmond. Before retiring to Richmond, Mr. Greene lived most of his adult life in Harlem, New York City. He was a skilled Men's Custom Tailor by trade and a graduate of the New York Technical Institute. Margaret Virginia Owen McKinney, 78, of Bumpass, went home to be with the Lord on August 27, 2002. Dan E. Mealy, 51, of Louisa County, passed away Friday, August 16, 2002. Survived by his children, Danielle and Michelle Mealy, both of Seattle, Wash.; his brothers, Stan Mealy of Los Angeles, Calif. and Edward Mealy of Arizona; his fiancee, Regina K. Sanders and her children, Dr. Tora Quick of Fayetteville, N.C. and Matthew Sanders of Richmond; also several grandchildren. Mr. Sanders played football and graduated from the University of Arizona. He served with the Rangers in the U.S. Army during the Vietname War where he received the Silver Star. Grace Noel Mistr, age 97, wife of the late Alfred Frank Mistr Sr., died Tuesday, August 27, 2002 at her home in Midlothian Va. Born on August 14, 1905 in Farmville, Va., she was the daughter of William Ernest and Josephine Payne Noel. She graduated Magna Cum Laude from Longwood College and taught Latin, mathematics and English in Disputana, Courtland, Varina and Tappahannock. Mrs. Mistr married Alfred Frank Mistr Sr. of Varina on October 27, 1935 and built a life together for 66 years. She and her husband engaged in dairy farming at Midview Farm in Varina. They later moved to Greenfield Farm in Loretto, Va., where they raised grain crops. In January 1996 they moved to Brandermill Woods Retirement Community. Mrs. Mistr had been an active member of Laurel Hill United Methodist Church in Varina, the Upper Essex Baptist Church in Champlain, and had been active in the Eastern Star, the Women's Missionary Union and the Tappahannock Women's Club. Grace is survived by three sons, Alfred Frank Mistr Jr. of Richmond, Dr. Ernest Noel Mistr of Inman, S.C. and William Stuart Mistr of Midlothian; two daughters, Josephine Anna Buckner of Richmond and Martha Leigh Steele of Seneca, S.C.; eight grandchildren, two stepgrandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 5:30 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the Nelsen Funeral Home, 4650 South Laburnum Ave. Services will be held at the funeral home at 10 a.m. on Friday, followed by a private interment.
