Alton A. Rask, age 79, of Isanti, Minnesota, died August 15, 2001. He was preceded in death by his parents, Andrew and Emma Rask; his beloved wife, Audrey; brother, Norman; and sister, Martha. He is survived by his children, Andrea (Tom) Jacobson, Onalee (Roger) Canfield, Mike (Tracey) Rask, Steve (Chris) Rask; cherished grandchildren, Arin, Jared, and Tim Jacobson, Kelly and Matt Canfield, Steven Watercott, Rachel and Tony Rabiola, and Nick, Teresa, and Hanna Hukriede; sisters, Elvera (Wesley) Wolff, Anna (Wilford) Holine, Ruthie (Dana) Larson, Bette (Gordy) Sundberg, Donna (Burton) Sundburg; sister-in-law, Violet Rask; and many other relatives and friends. Joseph F. Shannon, 84, of Richmond, died Wednesday, August 15, 2001. He was preceded in death by his wife, Marie P. Shannon; and by his grandson, Michael Shannon; and son-in-law, Bill Woody. He is survived by two daughters and a son-in-law, Barbara Woody, Monica and Gerald Vaughan; three sons and daughters-in-law, Joe and Ginny Shannon, Pete and Carroll Shannon, Jack and Robin Shannon; and a sister and brother-in-law, Betty and Bill Michener; nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. He and his wife were the owners of "Your Door Place", and the International Bartenders School. Louise Lillie Oakley Shead, 87, of Powhatan, went to be with the Lord August 15, 2001. She was preceded in death by her husband, George D. Shead; and her first husband, Walter E. Cordle. She is survived by three daughters, Betty C. Jarratt of Powhatan, Dorothy C. Lewis and her husband, H.B. of Saxis, Va. and Nancy C. Cumbea and her husband, Herbert W. of Powhatan; grandchildren, Walter A. Baugh of Richmond, William E. Baugh of Chesterfield, Mary Bixler of Amelia, B.J. Baugh of Powhatan, Tommy Baugh of Farmville, William Crowder of Charlottesville, Michael Crowder of Nokesville, Jeff Cumbea of Buckingham and Lynn Blevins of Powhatan; 19 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren; sisters, Nettie Reams of Richmond, Maxine Bennett of Delaware, Joyce James of Richmond, Phyllis Conway of Delaware and Mary Ann Baldwin of Richmond. Mr. Harold M. Simmons, 92, native of Petersburg, Va., died Monday, August 13, 2001, in New Bern, N.C., where he had been residing for the last five years with his daughter. Mr. Simmons was born in Richmond, Va., but lived most of his life in Petersburg, Va. where he was the owner/operator of Simmons Grocery for over 60 years. He was also a member of Second Baptist Church, International Order of Oddfellows, the Blandford Masonic Lodge and several clubs and organizations throughout his life. Mr. Simmons is survived by his daughter, Mary Fletcher Watson of New Bern, N.C.; granddaughters, Laura Perrow Pearce of Newport, N.C., Allison Perrow Graham of Wilmington, N.C., Tracy Perrow Breasure of New Bern, N.C.; and five great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Virginia Lively Simmons and son-in-law, Russell L. Watson Jr. The family will receive friends at 10 a.m. Saturday, August 18, 2001, at the chapel in Southlawn Memorial Park. The funeral service will follow at 11 a.m. with Rev. Frances Louise Squires of Norfolk, born August 9, 1908, has left this life for her eternal rest on August 13, 2001. She was preceded in death by her husband, Warren Squires; by sisters, Agnes Butler and Elizabeth Marchetti; and brothers, Charles, William and Harry Millner. She is survived by many nieces and nephews; and a devoted friend, Vivian Bagwell. TYMOSKO
Ann West Tymosko, longtime resident and retired Occupational Health Nurse for Reynolds Metals of Richmond, Va., died August 5, 2001 at St. Joseph's Medical Center in Brainerd, Minn. Ann was born in Barron, Wis. on May 13, 1921 to Lester B. and Blanche Beckwith West. She was a 1942 graduate of Kahler School of Nursing in Rochester, Minn. She served as a Lieutenant in the Army Nurse Corps in England and France during World War II. She married Frank Dennis Tymosko in France in 1944. She was the first president of the Virginia Occupational Health Nurses Association. She is survived by one sister, Janet Warner of Minneapolis, Minn.; and two daughters, Nancy Krimm of Raleigh, N.C. and Susan Hadland of Brainerd, Minn. Survivors also include three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; a sister, Patricia Haag; and two grandchildren, Patricia Krimm and Michael Hadland. A memorial service was held in Brainerd, Minn. on August 10. Entombment will be at Mt. Calvary Mausoleum on Friday, August 17, at 11 a.m.

Edith S. Walker, 71, of Midlothian, Va, widow of Thomas B. Walker, died August 14, 2001. She is survived by her two daughters, Martha W. Konvicka and her husband, Michael of Powhatan, Susan W. Hitch and her husband, Hal of Ponte Vedra, Fla.; also five grandchildren, Thomas, Tim, Katie, Kristina and Andrew. Services and interment will be private. Charlotte B. Wyndham, age 60, of Providence Forge, died on Tuesday, August 14, 2001. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lyston V. Wyndham Jr. She is survived by her daughter, Lisa W. Mrs. Budd was a member of St. Stephen's Episcopal Church, the Tuckahoe Artists' Association, the Tuckahoe Garden Club, The Country Club of Virginia, The Woman's Club and volunteered at Westminster-Canterbury where she resided.
