Ethel Y. Davis, 100, of Richmond, died Saturday, August 3, 2002. She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond; and daughter, Lucille D. Moffitt. She is survived by her grandchildren, Kathy Hoy, John Raymond Moffitt and Ed Moffitt; seven great-grandchildren, Chris, Kari, Michael, Kevin and Andy Hoy, J.D. and Elizabeth Moffitt; one great-great-grandson, Liam Hoy; and son-in-law, John Moffitt. Mrs. Davis was a faithful member of Westhampton United Methodist Church. Graveside service 10 a.m. Tuesday in Westhampton Memorial Park. Frank W. Epps, 89, of Ashland, went to be with his Lord Saturday, August 3, 2002. He is survived by his wife of 32 years, Bessie W. Epps; a daughter, Joyce and her husband, Barry Katzin of Ashland; a son, Danny G. Epps of Richmond; a stepdaughter, Kay Madison of Ruther Glen; a brother, Everett Epps of Ashland; four sisters, Thelma Bailey, Dorothy Hicks, Eula Hicks and Evelyn Hawkins, all of Rogersville, Tenn.; also three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Warner Lee Fields entered into eternal rest August 2, 2002 in Richmond. He leaves to cherish his memory, a devoted wife, Mamie Fields; his beloved daughter, Josephine Loretta; a son-in-law, Louis T. Stith of New Jersey. He is also survived by his mother, Mrs. Marie Fields; two brothers, Fred and Oliver Stith, both of Richmond; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and many devoted friends and neighbors. Evelyn Florence Bolda Fuqua, 82, died on Saturday, August 3, 2002. She was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin on June 3, 1920. One of seven children and the oldest daughter, she helped care for her parents and brothers and sister. During WWII, she joined the U.S. Navy. She married Henry Hartman Fuqua in 1944. A Williamsburg resident for over forty years, she was a devoted wife and mother who enjoyed crafts and volunteer work at St. Bede's Catholic Church. Preceded in death by her husband in 1997, she will be deeply missed by her daughters, Barbara Ann Fuqua of Williamsburg, and Deborah Jean Fuqua of Richmond. Much beloved by her family and friends, she will be remembered for her humor, strength, resilience, and cheerful disposition, especially in the face of adversity. Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, August 7, 2002 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Bede's Catholic Church. Interment will follow in Williamsburg Memorial Park. Margaret (Buckey) Baxter Harrison Hartsel, of Hopewell, Va., passed away Sunday, August 4, 2002. She was born in Petersburg, Va., the daughter of the late Morrice Linwood Baxter and V. Margaret
Williams Baxter. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Clyde Warren Harrison. Mrs. Hartsel was the president and owner of Harrison Tire Service of Hopewell for over 40 years. She is survived by her husband, Norman Eugene Hartsel; daughters, Holly Harrison Davis and husband, Ronald Eric Davis, Jan Harrison Minetree and husband, Mark Everett Minetree; grandchildren, Preston Harrison Davis, Jonathon Tyson Davis and Cole Harrison Minetree. She is also survived by her sister, Mrs. Edwin Morris Betts Jr. and Mrs. Robert L. Spivey, all of Petersburg. Janet L. Myers, 65, of Spring Grove, Pa., died Sunday, August 4, 2002 at her home. Born December 11, 1936 in White Hall, Md., she was the daughter of the late Cuthbert and Sadie (Hale) Fowler. Janet was the wife of Harold E. Myers, to whom she was married for 46 years. Mrs. Myers was a member of Grace United Methodist Church, Hanover, Pa. Janet was a graduate of Manchester High School, Manchester, Md. She retired from Ukrops Supermarket, Inc. of Richmond, Va., after 13 years of service as a clerk. In addition to her husband, Janet is survived by two sons, Rodney E. Myers of Mt. Crawford, Va., and Glenn L. Myers of Winchester, Va.; one daughter, Cindy L. Freet of Hanover, Pa.; seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
