He was the husband of Jeneva Law of the home.

Dora B. Lewis
STONEVILLE, N.C. -- Dora "Rose" Dean Barrow Lewis, 89, formerly of Glenn Street, Stoneville, died Sunday, April 3, 2005, at Morehead Memorial Hospital in Eden.
She was born in Henry County, Va., to Benjamin F. Barrow Sr. and Annie Frances Thomasson Barrow. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three husbands, Stafford Gilley, Alfred Asbury McCall Jr. and Wilfred Stultz.
She was a homemaker and a member of Stoneville Christian Church.
Surviving are a brother, Benjamin F. Barrow Jr. of Martinsville, Va.; a sister, Nancy Barrow Frith of Martinsville; and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Fair Funeral Home chapel in Eden. Entombment will be in Overlook Mausoleum. The family will receive friends from 7-9 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Della M. Martin
The funeral for Della Mae Dean Murray Martin, 76, of Bassett, who died, Saturday, April 2, 2005, at Blue Ridge Rehab in Stuart, will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Peoples Church of the Living God with the Rev. Dwayne Pruitt officiating. Burial will be in Roselawn Burial Park. The family will receive friends from 7-9 p.m. today at the church.
She was born July 18, 1928, in Wythe County to Lindsey S. Dean and Mattie Hudson Dean. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two husbands, John W. Murray and Peter Martin; a brother, Charles W. Dean; and a grandson, Randy L. Ratcliffe Jr.
Surviving are her husband, Howard Leon Moore of the home; two daughters, Joyce Ann Ratcliffe of Henry and Sue Gilley of Bassett; three grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

Ruben R. McCraw Jr.
Ruben "Junior" Roosevelt McCraw Jr., 80, of 114 Ford St., Collinsville, died Sunday, April 3, 2005, at Memorial Hospital in Martinsville.
He was born Nov. 4, 1924, in Altavista to Rubyn McCraw and Lucy Bailey McCraw. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Andrew William McCraw.
He was a retired supervisor at Bassett Industries. He was a World War II disabled veteran. During the war he served in the Battle of the Bulge and received the Purple Heart and the Silver Heart.
Surviving are his wife, Mollie Walker McCraw of the home; two granddaughters; and two great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Norris Funeral Services chapel. Burial will be in Roselawn Burial Park. The family will receive friends from 7-8:30 p.m. today at the funeral home and other times at the home.

James Moore
James "Joe" Moore, 77, of 4550 Shenandoah Ave., Salem, died Friday, April 1, 2005, at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Salem.
He was born May 21, 1928, in Spencer to Alfred Moore and Frances Reynolds Moore of Detroit. His father preceded him in death.
He retired from Fieldcrest Lodge after 20 years of service. He was an Army veteran and was of the Baptist faith.
Surviving, in addition to his mother, are his wife, Thelma P. Moore of Martinsville; a daughter, Dorothy Richardson of Martinsville; a son, Joe N. Moore of Martinsville; three brothers, Nathaniel Moore of Bassett, Elmer J. Moore of Martinsville and George Moore of Saginaw, Mich.; two sisters, Margaret Wade of Saginaw and Naomi Millner of Ridgeway; three grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at High Ridge Baptist Church with Dr. George Gable Reynolds officiating. Burial will be in Carver Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends for a half-hour before the service at the church and other times at the home of his son, 635 Lakewood Trail, Martinsville.

Elizabeth S. Ratliff
Elizabeth S. Ratliff, 87, of 2033 Pleasant View Drive, Stuart, died Saturday, April 2, 2005, at R.J. Reynolds-Patrick County Memorial Hospital.
She was born Aug. 31, 1917, in Patrick County to George W. Stewart and Eliza Biggs Stewart. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Daniel G. Ratliff; a daughter, Elizabeth Ann; five sisters; four brothers; and one grandchild.
She was a homemaker and of the Primitive Baptist faith.
Surviving are two daughters, Doris R. Eggleston of Myrtle Beach, S.C., and Helen R. Hardy of Ridgeway; six sons, J.C. Ratliff and Melvin Ratliff, both of Stuart, Leon Ratliff of Bassett, Joe Ratliff of Martinsville, Alvin Ratliff of Pinehurst, N.C., and Larry Ratliff of Chatham; 15 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
A graveside funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Ratliff family cemetery at the Church of God of Prophecy, Pleasant View Drive and Bull Mountain Road in Stuart. Pastor Terry Ragsdale will officiate. Friends may visit Howell Funeral Home from 2-8 p.m. today and the family will be receiving friends at the home of her son, Melvin Ratliff, 310 South Fork Road, Stuart, at other times.

William N. Rigney, 67, of Bassett, died Sunday, April 3, 2005, at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem, N.C.

Hope Pride Saye, 88, of 145 Cedar Point Drive, Collinsville, died Sunday, April 3, 2005, at Memorial Hospital in Martinsville.

Ophelia C. Shepherd
The funeral for Ophelia "Cookie" Alma Cooke Shepherd, 100, of Stanleytown Health Care Center, Bassett, who died Saturday, April 2, 2005, at the center, will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Collins Funeral Services chapel. The Rev. Bobby Rakes will officiate. A graveside service will be held at 4 p.m. Tuesday at Maiden City Cemetery in Maiden, N.C., with the Rev. Nathan Austin officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:30-8:30 p.m. today at the funeral home and other times at the home of her son, Ernie B. Shepard, 513 Fairmont Drive, Bassett.
She was born June 28, 1904, in Maiden, to Robert Brevard Cook and Mary Ellen Whisnant Cook. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, David Hill Shepherd; three sisters, Lala Cooke, Edna Cooke and Irene Wood; and two brothers, Raymond Cook and Elam Cook.
She graduated from Boiling Springs High School. She attended Meredith University and received a music education degree from Boiling Springs Junior College (now Gardner Webb College). She was an instructor at McNell's Beauty School in Wytheville in the early 1940s and operated beauty shops in Laurel Fork and Martinsville for over 40 years. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Martinsville and of the Placide Mitchell Sunday School Class. She was involved in numerous activities at Stanleytown Health Care, especially musical ones.
Surviving are a son, Ernie B. Shepherd of Bassett; a brother, Earl D. Cook of Maiden; and two grandsons.

Carl D. Shively
Carl Douglas Shively, 70, of 11391 Franklin Turnpike, Chatham, died Saturday, April 2, 2005, at his home.
He was born Dec. 4, 1934, in Pittsylvania County to Jale L. Shively and Erna Clark Shively. His parents preceded him in death.
He attended the former Brosville High School. He retired as an electrician from Watson Electric Co. He served in the Army during the Korean War as a switchboard operator. He was awarded the National Defense Service Medal, the United Nations Service Medal and the Korean Service Ribbon. He was a member of Whitmell Christian Church.
Surviving are his wife, Doris G. Shively of the home; a daughter, Vicky C. Shively of Axton; a son, Michael W. Shively of Salisbury, N.C.; a stepson, Tommy E. Gregory of Chatham; two stepdaughters, Lucy G. Davis of Danville and Bonnie G. Montague of Milton; two sisters, Sylvia S. Hyler of Danville and Carolyn S. White of Keeling; two brothers, Kenny Shively of Danville and C. Heyward Shively of Boones Mill; nine step-grandchildren; and one step-great-grandchild.
The graveside funeral will be held at 2 p.m. today at Danville Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Jack Oakes officiating. military honors will be conducted by American Legion Post 325 Honor Guard. The family will receive friends at the home.

Nellie G. Stone
The funeral for Nellie G. Stone, 80, of Ridgeway, who died Thursday, March 31, 2005, was held Sunday at Roselawn Chapel Funeral Home with the Rev. Tracey Freeman and Pastor Carl Keith officiating. Burial was in Roselawn Burial Park.
Pallbearers were Roger Rakes, Darrell Hall, Eddie Utt, James Wingfield, Billy Wayne Rakes, Ronnie Bryant and Ralph Byrd.
