Rachael H. Pruitt
The funeral for Rachael Lee Hankins Pruitt, 84, of 145 Turner Road, Collinsville, who died March 13, 2005, was held Monday at Community Funeral Service chapel. The Rev. J.R. Shelton and Capt. Melvin Welch officiated. Burial was in Roselawn Burial Park.
Pallbearers were Wilson Hankins, Timmy Meadows, Larry Adkins, Steven Hall, Eugene Hall, Timmy Bond and Joseph Swisher.
Mary H. Ramsey
The funeral for Mary Icelene Heflin Ramsey, 85, of Donnybrook Road, Ridgeway, who died March 10, 2005, was held Monday at Horsepasture Christian Church. Ministers Joe Hall and David Cuthbertson officiated. Burial was in Roselawn Burial Park.
Pallbearers were Andrew Gibbions, Bill Heflin, Keller Whited, Tommy Mason, E.C. Stone, Chris Ramsey, John Allison and Ed Cox.

Rita C. Shelton
A graveside service for Rita Cochran Shelton, 57, of Martinsville, who died March 12, 2005, was held Monday at Roselawn Burial Park. The Rev. J.D. Harmon officiated.
Pallbearers were Tommy Wayne Shelton, Bob Ferris, Jack Brady, Richard Ayers, Lee Brown, Donnie Ferguson and Jesse Gauldin.

Nannie W. Shough
Nannie Spencer Wright Shough, 89, of 105 Landmark Drive, Stuart, died Monday, March 13, 2005, at the Blue Ridge Nursing Center in Stuart.
She was born in Patrick County on June 9, 1915, to Charlie H. Spencer and Fannie Hancock Spencer. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, James R. Wright; her second husband, Edwin Shough; and a brother, Harvey Spencer.
She was a homemaker.
Surviving are two sons, James M. Wright of Halifax and Douglas W. Wright of Martinsville; a stepdaughter, Ella Mae Martin; three stepsons, Herman Shough, Charlie Shough and Ray Shough; one grandson; and two great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Patrick Springs Pentecostal Holiness Church in Patrick Springs. Minister Jack Foley will officiate. Burial will be in Roselawn Burial Park in Martinsville. Visitation will be held from 7-8:30 p.m. today at Howell Funeral Home in Stuart.
Pauline S. Smith
EDEN, N.C. -- Pauline
Smith Smith, 80, of 13899 N.C. Hwy. 87 North, Eden, died Monday, March 13, 2005, at Morehead Memorial Hospital.
She was born in Pittsylvania County, Va., on Oct. 12, 1924, to General Scott and Bessie Bouldin Smith.
She retired as a lab technician for DuPont. She was a member of the Church of Christ in Ridgeway, Va.
Surviving are a son, Alvin Eldridge
Smith of Eden; a daughter, Gail
Smith of the home; three grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; a brother, Bill
Smith of Ridgeway; and a sister, Ola Perkins of Reidsville.
The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Fair Funeral Home chapel in Eden. Burial will be in Roselawn Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends from 7-9 p.m. today at the funeral home and other times at the home.
Virginia H. Taylor
Virginia Helen Taylor, 92, of Stuart, died Monday, March 13, 2005, at the Blue Ride Nursing Center in Stuart.
She was born in Patrick County on June 10, 1912, to Leath Taylor and Alice T. Taylor. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by five brothers, Harbour Taylor, Jesse Ben Taylor, Clyde Taylor, Archie Taylor and Berine Taylor; and three sisters, Gertrude Taylor, Carrie Spencer and Dove Conner.
She was a retired nurse.
Irene Taylor of Patrick Springs was her caregiver for a number of years prior to her entering the nursing center.
Her survivors include several nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. today at Patrick Memorial Gardens with Pastor David Westmoreland officiating. The family will receive friends for one hour before the service at Moody Funeral Home in Stuart.
Warren L. Wilkinson
A graveside service for Warren Leon "Popeye" Wilkinson, 70, of Fieldale, who died March 12, 2005, was held Monday at Roselawn Burial Park with Dr. Joe Bryant officiating.
Pallbearers were Teddy Compton, Steve Joyce, Barry Joyce, Curt Cockrell, Jerry Merriman and Ricky Wagner.

F&K Security founder Murphy dies at 66
Thomas Franklin Murphy, 66, of 1810 Spruce St., Martinsville, died of cancer Friday, March 25, 2005, at Memorial Hospital in Martinsville.
He was born in Leaksville, N.C., on Feb. 27, 1939, to Ethel Newton Murphy of Martinsville and Albert F. Murphy, deceased.
He graduated from Ruffin (N.C.) High School and from Danville Technical Institute with a degree in industrial design.
He founded F&K Security in 1989 and was its president. He was a member of Forest Park Country Club where he was president of the Men's Golf Association, a member of the board of directors and chaired the golf committee.
Surviving in addition to his mother are his wife, Kathy E. Murphy of the home; two daughters, Dana M. Reeder of West Sacramento, Calif., and Stephanie M. Hufton of Roanoke; six grandchildren; a brother, Grayson Murphy of Martinsville; and several other relatives.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at McKee-Stone Funeral Service chapel with Wayne Roach officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 7-8:30 p.m. today.
