Mary H. Crim
NEW MARKET, Va. - Mary Hutzler Crim, 84, of New Market, died Friday, March 24, 2000.
Born Jan. 16, 1916, in Shenandoah Junction, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late John Milton and Olive Fuss Hutzler.
Her husband of 50 years, John Clinedinst Crim, died in 1993.
She received a bachelor of science degree in 1938 from Harrisonburg State Teachers' College, now James Madison University, and in later years obtained a Master's degree from Madison.
She taught at schools including New Market High School, Broadway High School and John C. Myers Intermediate School. She spent two decades as a licensed professional counselor.
She was a member of Cohee Garden Club; Shenandoah Valley Music Festival; Shenandoah Valley Folklore Society; and Virginia Counselors Association. She was active in Boy and Girl Scout groups.
She is survived by a brother, Clifford Tyson of Virginia Beach, Va.; two daughters, Jane Catherine Crim and Elizabeth Crim Branner; two sons, John David Crim and Charles Clinedinst Crim; three grandchildren; nieces; nephews, and cousins.
A graveside service will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. at St. Matthew's cemetery in New Market.

Lester A. Smith
FARMVILLE, Va. - Lester Allen Smith, 63, of Route 1, died Monday, March 20, 2000, at Medical College of Virginia in Richmond.
Born Nov. 3, 1936, in Hagerstown, he was the son of Albert Henry and Evelyn Lucille Imes Smith.
He retired from the U.S. Navy and was a retired lieutenant in the sheriff's department in Norfolk, Va.
He is survived by his wife, Lillian Parsons Smith; three daughters, Wendy Anne Smith of Richmond, Susan Looper of North Carolina and Cynthia Piercy of Dillwyn, Va.; three sons, Stuart Smith of Richmond, Albert Allan Smith of Pamplin, Va., and Lawrence Smith of Orlando, Fla.; one sister, Darlene J. Smith of Hagerstown; 12 grandchildren; one niece; and one great-nephew.
A graveside service will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. at Rose Hill cemetery, Hagerstown.
There will be no viewing.

Frances E. Gant
WINCHESTER, Va. - Frances Edmonia Gant, 81, of Winchester and formerly of Bunker Hill, W.Va., died Friday, March 17, 2000, at Winchester Manor.
Born Feb. 2, 1919, in Berkeley County, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late Floyd C. and Annie Williams Dorman.
She was a member of Mount Tabor Baptist Church in Bunker Hill.
She is survived by a sister, Betty Jackson of Winchester, two nieces and a nephew.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Cornelia Grimes.
Services will be Tuesday at 2:30 p.m. at Brown Funeral Home, 327 W. King St. in Martinsburg. The Rev. Arthur Patterson and the Rev. Peter Thomas will officiate. Burial will be in Mount Hope cemetery.
The family will receive friends Monday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Lester C. Fouche
WOODBRIDGE, Va. - Lester C. Fouche, 85, of Woodbridge, died Saturday, March 4, 2000, in Manassas, Va.
He was the son of the late Clarence and Jennifer Fouche.
He served with the Army during World War II.
He was a member of American Legion, Austin, Texas.
He is survived by his wife, Ida E. Fouche; five daughters, Karen Byers and Joan Grove, both of Hagerstown, Debbie Dillinger of Shady Grove, Pa., Jeanne Wilson of Manassas and Margaret Yost of Clewisville, Fla.; two sons, George Bonadio of Baltimore and Michael Bonadio of Pittsburgh; a sister, Louella Mongan of Hagerstown; two brothers, Arthur Fouche of Hagerstown and Marvin Fouche of Key Largo, Fla.; 16 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.
Services will be Friday at 11 a.m. at All St. Episcopal Church, Dale City, Va. The Rev. John A.M. Guernsey will officiate. Burial will be in Quantico National cemetery, Quantico, Va.
Visitation will be today from 7 to 9 p.m. at Mountcastle Funeral Home, 4143 Dale Blvd., Dale City.
David F. Peters
RICHMOND, Va. - David Frankman Peters, 58, of Richmond, died Friday, March 3, 2000, at his home.
Born Aug. 15, 1941, he was the son of the late Harold E. and Lois F. Peters of Hagerstown.
He was a graduate of Washington and Lee University and Duke University Law School.
He retired in April 1999 from Hunton and Williams, where he practiced law for 33 years.
He was a member of First Presbyterian Church, where he served as an elder for several years and headed the Building Campaign for a church school addition in 1985.
He was a member of the American Bar Association, Virginia State Bar Association and Richmond Bar Association.
In 1999, he received the Hunton and Williams Pro Bono Award for his work in the firm's Church Hill, Va., office. He was a former president of Children's Home Society of Virginia, trustee of Westminster-Canterbury Corporation and president of Westminster Presbyterian Homes of Virginia.
He was a member of the Country Club of Virginia and the Commonwealth Club and Kiwanis Club, both of Richmond.
He is survived by his wife, Jane Witherspoon Peters; two daughters, Catherine Witherspoon Peters of New York and Elizabeth Peters Aldridge of Durham, N.C.; his stepmother, Virginia Knode Peters of Hagerstown; a brother, H. Edward Peters of Hagerstown; and a granddaughter.
A memorial service will be Monday at 2 p.m. at First Presbyterian Church.

ARLINGTON, Va. - Maggie Doliante Tiches, 94, of Arlington, died Thursday, March 2, 2000, in Oakton, Va.
She was born July 17, 1905, in New York City.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles E. Tiches, in 1978.
She and her husband operated Tiches Tavern, 1521 14th St. in Washington, D.C., from 1925 to 1965.
She was a member of Saints Constantine and Helen Greek Orthodox Church, Washington, D.C.
She is survived by six children, Maria Prokos of Falls Church, Va., Louis Tiches of Hagerstown, John Tiches of Surfside, S.C., James Tiches of Stuart, Fla., Peter Tiches of Fairfax, Va. and Timothy Tiches of Nashua, N.H.; four siblings, William Doliante of Santa Barbara, Calif., Mike Doliante of Falls Church, Mary Christy of Burlington, N.C., and Marie Marshall of Arlington; 15 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
Services will be Tuesday at 10 a.m. at Saints Constantine and Helen Greek Orthodox Church, 4115 16th St., N.W. in Washington, D.C. Burial will be in National Memorial Park in Falls Church.
Visitation will be Monday from 5 to 8 p.m. at the church, with Trisaghion Prayers at 7 p.m.
