CHURCH HILL, Tenn.--Cecil Lee Holley Sr., 55, of Church Hill, died Saturday, Aug. 5, 2006.
A graduate of Fieldale-Collinsville High School in Henry County, Va., he was an upholster for 35 years.
His parents, Kerfett Holley and Louise Holley, preceded him in death.
Surviving are a brother, Leroy Holley; three daughters, Jennifer Fetter, Louise Parrish and Karen Smith; a son, Cecil Holley Jr.; ten grandchildren and a great-grandson.
The funeral will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday at 23 Darnell Street, Ridgeway, Va.
Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home in Kingsport, Tenn. is handling the arrangements.
Jessie M. Irvin
The funeral for Jessie Mae Irvin, 69, of Martinsville, who died Aug. 2, 2006, was held Monday at Pleasant Hill Missionary Baptist Church with Dr. Charlie P. Johnson officiating. Burial was in the Dodson family cemetery.
Pallbearers were David Fuller, Andre' Fuller, Jay Holland, Kevin Irvin, Billy Grundy, Jerod Clayter, Darryl Alexander and Thomas Millner.

Jennie B. Joyce
The funeral for Jennie Beth Joyce, 72, of Axton, who died Aug. 7, 2006, was held Wednesday at Mount Calvary Pentecostal Holiness Church with the Rev. Gary Robertson officiating. Burial was in Roselawn Burial Park.
Pallbearers were Doug Martin, Joe Shivley, Ricky Thompson, Reggie Newman, Steve Foley and Darrell Spencer.

Thomas L. Robinson
Thomas LaVerne Robinson, 76, of 1512 Rivermont Heights Martinsville, died Tuesday, Aug. 8, 2006, at his home.
He was bon in Birmingham, Ala., on May 2, 1930, to Carrol Vernon Robinson and Sara Louise Caldwell Robinson.
He served in the Air Force and retired from Dupont after 32 years of service as an industrial engineer.
Surviving are his wife Patsy Ann Wyatt Walker Robinson of the home; two sons, Brian D. Robinson of Meadows of Dan and James H. Walker of High Springs, Fla.; and two grandchildren.
No wake or funeral service will be held.
Arrangements were made at Norris Funeral Services and Crematory.
Thomas R. Slone
The funeral for Thomas "Tommy" Ray Slone, 16, of Bassett, who died Aug. 5, 2006, was held Wednesday at Bassett Funeral Service chapel with the Rev. Carson Williams officiating. Burial was in the Dodson family cemetery.
Pallbearers were Roger Dodson, J.J. Jackson, Kenny Spencer, Marcus Campbell, Zeb Cannon and Josh Turner.
Fannie R. Wagoner
The funeral for Fannie R. Wagoner, 85, of Ridgeway, who died Aug. 7, 2006, was held Wednesday at McKee-Stone Funeral Services with Eddie Compton officiating. Burial was in Roselawn Burial Park.
Pallbearers were Bruce Foley, Leslie Peters, Kenny Smith, Frank Shrader, Hylton Coe and Arnold Peters.

Frances Simmons
dies at age 71
Frances Haley Simmons, 71, of Stuart, died Tuesday, July 18, 2006, at R.J. Reynolds Patrick County Memorial Hospital.
She was born in Patrick County on July 23, 1934, to Guy and Nora Cassady Haley. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Hoyt Haley.
Before operating the Patrick County Developmental Center for 27 years, Simmons worked as a case worker for Piedmont Community Services in mental retardation. She also was active in the Association for Retarded Citizens support group.
She was a member of Minnie's Chapel Wesleyan Church where she taught Sunday school and was choir director. She and family members sang gospel music as a group.
She worked in retail for a number of years, was a 4-H Extension Agent, served on the United Way board of directors, was on the Heart Fund committee and on the Special Education Advisory and the "Home Alone" committees.
In 2005, Simmons was Grand Marshall of the Patrick County Christmas Parade. She also wrote a weekly column for The Enterprise.
Surviving are husband, Cecil Simmons of the home; two daughters, Penny Belcher of Stuart and Christy Riester of Centreville; six grandchildren; and one sister, Charlene Lawson of Stuart.
The family will receive friends at Moody Funeral Home in Stuart from 5 to 7 p.m. today. The funeral will be at 7 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with the Revs. Curtis Hall, Bernard Handy and Jim Churchwell officiating.
A graveside service and burial will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Five Forks Wesleyan Church cemetery with the Revs. Gary Combs and Curtis Hall officiating.
Memorials may be made to a charity of the donors choice.
Dolly H. Cannoy
Dolly Mae Hooper Cannoy, 76, of Martinsville, died Tuesday, July 18, 2006, at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center.
She was born in Georgia on Aug. 5, 1929, to Jim Hooper and Pauline Kirby Hooper. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Claude Cannoy; a son, Buddy Wayne Cannoy; and four brothers, Ed Hooper, Thomas Hooper, Boyd Hooper and Buddy Hooper.
She retired from Rumley's Restaurant and was a member of Grace Baptist Church.
Surviving are two daughters, Susie Cannoy Walthall of Martinsville and Glenda Cannoy Pilson of Bassett; two sons, Jimmy Cannoy Jr. and Steve Cannoy, both of Martinsville; three sisters, Blanche Martin of Rocky Mount, Lois O. Hancock of Utah and Linda Jane Smith of Stoneville, N.C.; three brothers, Willie Hooper of Martinsville, Jimmy Hooper of Columbus, Ga. and Ray Hooper of Ridgeway; 10 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be held at 4 p.m. Friday at McKee-Stone Funeral Services with the Rev. Lewis Harris officiating. Burial will be at Roselawn Burial Park.
The family is receiving friends at the home of her daughter, Susie Walthall at 60 Quail Oaks Road, Martinsville, and will be at the funeral home from 2 to 3:30 p.m. Friday to meet with friends before the funeral.
Sarah M. Cauley
Sarah Inez Mabe Cauley, 68, of Providence Drive, Patrick Springs, died Tuesday, July 18, 2006, at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital.
She was born in Patrick Springs on Feb. 23, 1938, to Luther Mabe and Dovie Plaster Mabe. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Shirley Haden.
She was a homemaker and a member of Patrick Springs Pentecostal Holiness Church.
Surviving are her husband of 49 years, Wesley Cauley of the home; a daughter, Wanda Campo of Stuart; son, Charles W. Cauley of Stuart; four grandchildren; three sisters, Lorene Wood of Martinsville and Margaret Hylton and Iris McNeil, both of Patrick Springs; two brothers, Ronnie Mabe and L.H. Mabe, both of Patrick Springs.
The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at Patrick Springs Pentecostal Holiness Church with the Revs. Jack Foley and Trent Wall officiating. Burial will be in Patrick Memorial Gardens.
Howell Funeral Home at Patrick Springs is in charge of arrangements. Visitation will be held from 7 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.

The funeral for Syble T. Clark, 101, of Stuart, who died July 16, 2006, was held Wednesday at Tatum Macedonia Primitive Baptist Church with Elder Manuel Jessup officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery.
Pallbearers were deacons of Tatum Macedonia Church: James Hines, Sandy Reid, Frank Johnson, John Henry Hairston, James Moore, Robert Jessup and Henry Hairston.

The funeral for George Spencer Gravely, 73, of Martinsville, who died July 14, 2006, was held Tuesday at High Street Baptist Church with William A. Shackleford officiating. Burial was in Carver Memorial Gardens.
