Orlando Duran Stewart, 32, of Fredericksburg, formerly of Louisa, died suddenly Sunday, November 11, 2007 in Louisa County.
He was born January 15, 1975 in Charlottesville to William E. and Marcelle B. Stewart of Louisa.
He was a 1993 graduate of Grace Christian School and was employed by the MMJ Group as a salesman.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by his wife, Charmeka L. Stewart; his daughter, Landie Stewart; and his son, Trae D. Stewart all of Fredericksburg; a brother, Antonio Stewart and his wife, Tasha of Winchester; a sister, Briana L. Stewart of Louisa; nephews, aunts, uncles, other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held on Saturday, November 17 at Peach Grove Baptist Church. Interment followed at Mt. Gilliam New Site Baptist Church with pastor Sherman F. Judson officiating.

Fred C. Walker, 66, of Bumpass, died Monday, November 26, 2007 at his residence.
Born in West Virginia on March 10, 1941 to the late Carl and Margie Walker, he served his country in the U.S. Army.
He was an avid Redskins fan, enjoyed fishing, riding motorcycles, and all water sports. He loved working with his hands doing numerous kinds of construction. A member of the Lake Anna Civic Association and Lake Anna Boaters Association, he retired from Ukrops as a meat department manager.
He is survived by his wife, Frances L. Walker; two sons, Jeffrey and Richard Walker; a daughter, Angela Walker Rowe; two step-sons, David Reynolds and Michael Jackson; three sisters; five grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends. He was preceded in death by a brother.
A memorial service will be held at 4 p.m. on Friday, November 30 at Woodward Funeral Home in Louisa with Rev. Carlton Holloway officiating. The family will receive friends at their residence following the memorial service.

Carla Elaine Barron-Dunn passed away on Saturday, January 26, 2008 in Parkton, Maryland.
She is the beloved wife of Wayne G. Dunn; devoted mother of Sean Phillip Barron and Lindsay Miranda Barron; step-mother of Christopher Wayne Dunn; daughter of Palma and Doris Valdivia; sister of Alice Krizmanic and her husband, John; and aunt of Robert and Gabriele Krizmanic.
A reception will take place at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church, 18310 Middletown Rd., Parkton, Maryland on Thursday, January 31 from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m.

Alice Elizabeth Harlow has gone to be with her father in heaven on Tuesday, January 29, 2008.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Daniel Harlow. She is survived by her daughter, Carol Ann Easton and her husband, Charles; one son, Alvin “Toad” Harlow and his wife, Shirley, all of Louisa; a sister, Lucille Williams and her husband, Frank; two brothers, Clarence Carter and Ernest Carter, all of Louisa; four grandchildren, Lisa Easton Glass and her husband, Victor, Tina Anderson and her husband, Kenny, Daniel Harlow and his wife, Danielle and Stephanie Harlow; four great-grandchildren, Cody Anderson, Jeremy and Skyler Burns, and Daniel Harlow Jr., all of Louisa; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral services conducted by the Rev. Courtney Joyner will be held at Macedonia United Methodist Church at 2 p.m. on Thursday, January 31.
Alice Elizabeth was born May 1, 1927 in Louisa County, daughter of the late Leon and Georgia Butler Carter. She was a member of Macedonia United Methodist Church and a retired sewing machine operator. She enjoyed being visited by members of the community of all ages.

Cecilia Elisabeth Agnes Hallauer, lovingly known as “Sue, ” died peacefully at Martha Jefferson Hospital on Thursday, January 24, 2008. She was born March 6, 1924 in Bresleau, Germany; daughter of the late Karl and Elisabeth Wallasch.
Mrs. Hallauer is survived by her loving husband of 61 years, Arthur W. Hallauer; her children; John K Hallauer and his wife, Janet, of Washington State; R. Wayne Hallauer, of Fairfax; Ron A. Hallauer and his wife, Joni, of Fairfax; Christopher S. Hallauer, of Louisa; Maureen A. Lynch and her husband, James A., of Spotsylvania; six grandchildren, LeAnn Hallauer, Lauren Hallauer, Karl Hallauer, J. Alan Lynch Jr., Kali Lynch and Zachary Lynch. She is predeceased by two brothers; Reinhold Wallasch and Richard Wallasch.
Funeral services were held on January 26 at Louisa United Methodist Church with Rev. Robert Haley officiating. Burial was private.

James G. Holder

James Gregory Holder, 79, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, January 20, 2008.
Mr. Holder suffered with a short term illness and passed away in his home surrounded by his family in Bumpass.
He has been a resident of Bumpass for 32 years. James was a loving, caring father and best friend. He left a lasting impression on everyone he encountered and will be deeply missed, but never forgotten.
He is survived by his four sons, Jim, Ed, Tommy and Steve Holder; grandchildren, Justin, Jenny, David, Charles and Beth Holder; and a great-grandchild, Justin Holder II. Memorial services will be held privately in Bumpass.

Mildred McLean Pendleton of Richmond, formerly of Cuckoo, died January 23, 2008.
She was predeceased by her husband of 64 years, Eugene Barbour (Bob) Pendleton Jr., and is survived by a family that has been blessed by her generosity of spirit and enduring love; five daughters and their families, Dr. Jane and Dr. Percy Wootton, Sally and Hugh Campbell, Nancy and Charles H. Wheeler IV, Susan P. Hayden and Christina and Joseph M. Perry; a sister-in-law, Betty P. Welday of Midlothian; 15 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
Mildred, a native of Grayson County, was born January, 21, 1914, graduated from Virginia Intermont College and taught elementary school and music in Southwest Virginia. After her marriage, she taught piano in Louisa County Public Schools.
At Gilboa Christian Church, in Cuckoo, she was organist for more than 20 years, taught Sunday school and was a leader in the Christian Women’s Fellowship.
After moving to Richmond, she became active at Seventh Street Christian Church as a choir member and leader of the Christian Women’s Fellowship. For 18 years, Mildred was a docent at the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts, where she remained a member of the council.
Her life-long love of art and learning enriched her extensive travel experiences. Mildred immersed herself in the art and culture of each country she visited, and to the end, she cherished the pictures and memories of hertrips in the Americas, Europe, Asia and Africa.
She was a member of the Tuckahoe Woman’s Club, The Woman’s Club and the Bermuda Hundred Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution. She loved gardening and was a long-standing member and a past president of the Riverside Garden Club. Mildred was an avid golfer and a member of the Country Club of Virginia and Farmington Country Club.
A memorial service was held in the Commons at Westminster Canterbury on January 28. A graveside service followed in the Gilboa Christian Church cemetery.
