Alice Bickerton Winston Kean, 90, of Mineral, died Monday, November 29, 2004 at a local hospital.
Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, December 4 at the Kean family cemetery at Attonce, 1840 Rolling Path Road, Mineral.
She is survived by her two sons, Louis L. Kean Jr. and his wife, Cora Pennell, and David A. Kean and his wife, Nancy; two grandsons, Alexander W. Kean and Andrew V. Kean and his wife, Cindy; and a stepgrandchild, Meg White.
Mrs. Kean was preceded in death by her husband, Louis L. Kean Sr.

Robert A. King
Robert A. “Bobby” King, 45, of Bumpass, died Wednesday, November 17, 2004.
Graveside services, conducted by Wayne Anderson, were held at 2 p.m. Sunday, November 21 in the Baldwin-King family cemetery, Bumpass.
He is survived by his sister, Marie King; his brothers, Ernie and Gordon King; his sisters-in-law, Linda and Susan King; his brother-in-law, Avery Dale; his aunt, Betty Baldwin; his nieces, Stacey King and Kim Neff; four nephews, Carlton and Jason King and Chris and Sam Richardson; his great-niece, Haleigh Reese King; and his great-nephews, Christopher and Justin King and Caleb and Justin Richardson.
Mr. King was born June 29, 1959, the son of the late Gordon M. and Naomi Baldwin King.

Robert E. Lane
Robert Edward Lane, 49, of Mineral, died Sunday, November 28, 2004 at his residence.
Funeral services will be held privately at a later date.
He is survived by his father, Edward W. Lane; a brother, Walter Lane and his wife, Eunice; a nephew, Wayne Perry and his wife, Tammy; and a niece, Crystal Jackson and her husband, James.
Mr. Lane was preceded in death by his mother, Annie E. Crewson Lane.

Carroll S. Payne
Carroll S. Payne, 83, of Zion, died Thursday, November 25, 2004 at Martha Jefferson Hospital, Charlottesville.
Funeral services, conducted by the Rev. Will Montgomery, were held at 11 a.m. Monday, November 29 at Zion United Methodist Church. Interment was in the church cemetery.
He is survived by a daughter, Cathy P. Harlow and her husband, Gerald, of Zion; two sons, Michael K. Payne and his fiancee, Jo Higgins, of Crozet, and Donald B. Payne of Charlottesville; two sisters, his twin, Carrie P. Harris of Thelma, and Hilda P. Taylor of Gordonsville; four grandchildren, Jason Harlow of Charlottesville, Aaron Harlow and his wife, Megan, of Zion, Ashley Payne of Palmyra and Devan Payne of Palmyra; and a great-grandchild, Abigayle Ana Harlow.
Mr. Payne was born May 9, 1921 in Louisa County, the son of the late Everette F. Payne and Mary Hamm Payne. He was also preceded in death by his wife of 55 years, Audrey Deavers Payne; three brothers, Ernest S. Payne, Earl R. Payne and Roy M. Payne; and two sisters, Audrey Holley and Edna Williams.
He was an Army veteran of World War II serving honorably in the Italian Campaigns.
He was a member of Zion United Methodist Church.

Kay K. Ulica
Kay Kirk Ulica, 67, of Bumpass, died Tuesday, November 30, 2004 at a local hospital.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, December 6 at the Woodward Funeral Home Chapel, Louisa.
She is survived by her husband of 47 years, Walter J. Ulica; two sons, John and Michael Ulica; two daughters, Karen and Dolly Ulica; three grandsons, Ryan, Joseph and Leigh; and two sisters, RoseMary and Sue.
Mrs. Ulica was the daughter of the late John Hanger Ashby and Mary Morton Hotinger Ashby. She was born in Churchville.
She was retired from the U.S. Government serving with the Defense Contract Audit Agency.

Clarence C. Badgett Jr.
Clarence Cleveland Badgett Jr., 70, of Mineral, died Friday, January 7, 2005 at a local hospital.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Monday, January 10 at Louisa Christian Church, Louisa. Interment was at Spring Grove cemetery, Mineral.
He is survived by his wife, Shirley S. Badgett; three daughters, Sandra Perry and her husband, Bruce, Sherrie Davenport and her husband, Dale, and Susan Glass; his father, Clarence Cleveland Badgett Sr.; three brothers, Lewis, Cecil and Allen Badgett; two sisters, Mary Lee Maddra and Beverly Mikeworth; five grandchildren, Tabitha, Nicole, Ricky, Justin and Chasity; two great-grandchildren, Devin and Madalyn; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Mr. Badgett was preceded in death by his mother, Virgie Glass Badgett; and a sister, Phyllis Boyd.
He was a member of Yanceyville Christian Church and retired from A&P Supermarket in Louisa.
He was a veteran of the United States Army.

Kenneth R. Blair
Kenneth R. Blair, 94, of Louisa, died Thursday, December 30, 2004 at the University of Virginia Hospital, Charlottesville.
Funeral services and interment were held Tuesday, January 4 in Syracuse, New York.
He is survived by two sons, Brian and his wife, Linda, of Louisa, and Alan of Parish, New York; a sister, Amy Sprague of Syracuse, New York; seven grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
He lived in Liverpool, New York before moving to Virginia in 2001 to reside with his son, Brian.
Linda J. Bryant
Linda Jeanne Bryant, of Louisa County, passed away at home on the fourth day of January, 2005. Beloved mother, wife, and daughter - she is survived by her son, Andrew Parelius; her husband, Peter Sugarman; and her mother, Helga Bryant.
Linda has built houses, taken away pain with her skillful touch, enchanted friends - both young and old (having served with JABA in Louisa for a number of years), and has rescued puppies in great big economy-sized lots. We are, all or us, blessed by knowing her. The world is smaller, and a paler place, without her.
A memorial service will be held at the Sofia House; 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 15. The public is invited (1780 Yanceyville Road, Louisa, VA - 540-894-8401).

Clevious W. Coleman Jr.
Deacon Clevious Wilmore Coleman Jr., 74, of Mineral, died Monday, January 3, 2005 at the University of Virginia Hospital, Charlottesville.
Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Friday, January 7 at Thomasson’s Funeral Home Chapel, Louisa. Interment in the family cemetery, conducted by Elder Linwood Sawyer Sr., was private.
He is survived by his wife, Thelma Coleman; two sons, Gregory Coleman and his wife, Juliett, and Gary Coleman and his wife, Lisa; five daughters, Barbara Campbell and her husband, William, Shirley Moody and her husband, Wilson, Marieta Carter and her husband, George, Janice Bullock and her husband, William, and Kathy Adams and her husband, Harold; three brothers, Elwood Coleman and his wife, Nan, Franklin and Leon Coleman; two sisters, Gloria Coleman and Arnisha Thurston and her husband, Larry; 13 grandchildren; eight great-granchildren; and a number of other relatives and friends.
Mr. Coleman was born April 21, 1930, the son of the late Clevious Sr. and Martha Mosby Coleman.
He was a skilled carpenter and served as deacon and trustee at the Mt. Sinai Church of Christ in Rhodesville.
John L. Foster Jr.
John Lester Foster Jr., 56, of Mineral, died Friday, January 7, 2005 in Spotsylvania County.
Funeral services, conducted by Rev. Frederick Sales, will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, January 13 at Rising Sun Baptist Church, 6829 Fredericks Hall Road, Mineral. Interment will be in Spring Grove Memorial cemetery, Mineral.
He is survived by his mother, Virginia Foster; his wife, Doris Foster; a brother, Garland Foster of Gordonsville; three sisters, Clydenia Shelton, Karen Riddick and Tammy Foster, all of Mineral.
Mr. Foster was preceded in death by his father, John Lester Foster Sr.
He was a construction worker with Top Line Concrete in Spotsylvania and served in the 5th INF USARSO, United States Army.
He received the National Defense Service Medal, Expert and Sharpshooter (M-16 and M-14) and 2nd class Gunner.
