Genevie B. Conrad
Genevie Butler Conrad, 75, of Troy, died Friday, Ma y 28, 2004 at her residence.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, June 1 at Beaver Dam Baptist Church. Interment was in the church cemetery.
She is survived by her husband of 56 years, M. Garnett Conrad; a daughter, Judy Britt and her husband, Gary, of Mechanicsville; a son, Maurie Conrad and his wife, Cookie, of Troy; five sisters, Reva Marshall, Frances Hawkins and Phyllis Taylor of Charlottesville, Regina Hoelscher of Hughesville, Maryland and Louise Brunner of Newport News; a brother, Ernest “Sonny” Butler of Charlottesville; four grandchildren, Paul and Leeanna Britt and Melissa and Amy Conrad; two great-grandchildren, Austin and Emily Britt; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Conrad was born May 9, 1929 in Norfolk, the daughter of the late Ernest Winn and Revy Maude Miller Butler. She was also preceded in death by a sister, Catherine Smith.
She worked at Virginia Employment Commission as an unemployment interviewer.
A member of Beaver Dam Baptist Church, she was a choir member for over 40 years and was instrumental in started the seniors’ group.

Kathy Klym
Kathy Klym, 37, of Louisa County, died Monday, May 24, 2004.
Graveside services, conducted by the Rev. Hubert Hart, were held Friday, May 28 at Spring Grove Memorial cemetery, Mineral.
She is survived by her daughter, Kathryn Klym; a son, Timothy Klym; her mother, Rosemary Klym; a brother, Jurij Klym and his son, Jerry Klym; a sister, Rosemary Dudley and her husband, Steven, and their children, Helen and Steven; and a number of friends.
Ms. Klym was born March 20, 1967 in Washington D.C.
She was a homemaker.

Charles G. Brown Sr.
Charles Gilbert Brown Sr., 64, of Palmyra, died Monday, October 4, 2004 at a Charlottesville hospital.
Funeral services, conducted by the Rev. Brian Taylor, will be held at noon Friday, October 8 at Evergreen Baptist Church. Interment will be in the Brown family cemetery on Rt. 613.
He is survived by his wife, Elaine Brown; his father, Edgar S. Brown Sr.; seven sons, Vernon Hughston, Rev. Charles Brown Jr., Joseph Brown, Marvin Brown, Broaddus Brown, William Washington and Lamonte Washington; three daughters, Sheila Brown Smith, Minister Bridget Brown-Tatum and Petulia Brown Carson; four brothers, Buster, Edgar Jr., Broaddus and Johnny Brown; four sisters, Novelle Haywood, Joan Key, Ella Brown and Rose Brown; 15 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Mr. Brown was born August 13, 1940 in Palmyra. He was preceded in death by his mother, Dorothy Carter Brown; and two sisters, Doris Holland and Gracie Payne.
He was a member of St. James Baptist Church.

Russell B. Davis
Russell B. Davis, 81, of Richmond, died Monday, September 27, 2004.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Friday, October 1 at Woody Funeral Home, Parham Chapel. Interment was in Westhampton Memorial Park.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Elaine B. Davis; a daughter, Rita Moseley and her husband, Lee; a son, Russell G. Davis and his wife, Susan; three grandchildren, Jennifer Fuerte, Holly Disney and Kristen Davis; four great-grandchildren, Jeffrey, Andrew, Tiffany and Nicholas Fuerte; and a sister, Edith Parrish.
Mr. Davis was born and raised in Louisa County.
He was a United States Army Air Corp veteran of World War II and was retired from the American Tobacco Company with 32 years of service.
A licensed general contractor for over 20 years, he was a deacon at Ridge Baptist Church and a member of Glen Allen Lodge No. 131 A.F.&A.M.

Samuel A. Henshaw
Samuel Albert Henshaw, 52, of Louisa, died Sunday, September 26, 2004.
Funeral services, conducted by Father Rodney Rodis, will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, September 30 at St. Jude Catholic Church, Mineral. Interment will be in the Mt. Airy Farm cemetery.
He is survived by his wife, Denyse Ann Haines Henshaw; his son, Kenneth Samuel Henshaw; his brother, Richard Ervin Henshaw and his wife, Joanne; a niece, Wanda H. Colvin and her husband, David; and his nephew, Keith Henshaw.
Mr. Henshaw was born June 8, 1952, the son of the late Ervin Allen and Elsie Gladys Searles Henshaw.
He was a retired deputy for the Louisa County Sheriff’s Department.

Brenda K. White
Brenda Kay White, 59, of Louisa, died Wednesday, September 29, 2004 at her residence.
Funeral services will be held privately at a later date.
She is survived by a son, Raymond White; two daughters, Deanna Benton and Jennifer Robinson; two brothers, Carty Rousey and Johnny Rousey Jr.; and four grandchildren.
Mrs. White was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry Lloyd White.

Laurence G. Cosner
Laurence Gordon Cosner, 85, of Fredericksburg, died Thursday, November 25, 2004.
Memorial services, conducted by the Rev. Bobby Green, were held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, November 30 at Beulah Baptist Church, Kents Store. Burial will take place at sea, per Mr. Cosner’s wishes, to be scheduled and performed by the United States Navy.
He is survived by three daughters, Janet Cosner Ratcliffe of Berlin, New Jersey, Carmen Anne Cosner Forsee of Chatsworth, Georgia and Paula Cosner Grimes of Richmond; a son, James Laurence Gordon Cosner of Charlottesville; his wife of 20 years, Jane Duckworth Cosner of Fredericksburg, and her children, Rocky Duckworth and David Duckworth, also of Fredericksburg; three grandchildren, Donald Scott Grimes of Kill Devil Hills, North Carolina, Melanie Laura Smith of Atlanta, Georgia, and Caitlin Finlay Ratcliffe of Berlin, New Jersey; one great-grandson, Thomas Hayden Smith Bullington of Atlanta, Georgia; and three brothers and three sisters, Gussie Cosner, Robbie Cosner, Hazel Cosner Mu, Kenneth Cosner, Merle Cosner Garner and Mary Ann Cosner Woods.
Mr. Cosner was born January 7, 1919, the son of the late Adam Liberty and Anna Grubbs Cosner. He was preceded in death by the mother of his children, Jane Rothenburger Cosner; and five siblings, Mazie Cosner Bond, Austin Cosner, Gilbert Cosner, Victor Cosner and Edna Cosner King. He was raised in Kents Store and lived in Charlottesville and Fredericksburg.
He was retired from the United States Navy after 20 years active duty and 10 years reserve duty with a rank of Chief Bosum’s Mate and numerous decorations for valor in warfare and years of service.
Mr. Cosner retired as a master carpenter from English Construction Company after 20 years.

Nelson W. Harless
Nelson W. Harless, 64, of Louisa, died Sunday, November 28, 2004 at a local hospital.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, December 1 at Trinity Baptist Church. Interment was in the church cemetery.
He is survived by his sister, Mildred H. Harper and her husband, Rhyley; a brother, Leonard A. Harless and his wife, Evelyn; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Virginia L. Henshaw
Virginia Lee Henshaw, 75, of Hanover, died Saturday, November 27, 2004 at her residence, under the care of her daughter, Geraldine Jones.
Graveside services were held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, November 30 at Little River Baptist Church cemetery.
She is survived by three daughters, Brenda Marshall and her husband, Fulton, Sue Henshaw and her fiance, Donald, and Geraldine Jones and her husband, Jimmy; three sons, Sonny Henshaw and his wife, Kim, Wesley Henshaw and his wife, Peggy, and Donald Henshaw and his wife, Kathy; 13 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; a sister, Georgia Ann Becker and her husband, Eric; and a brother, Earl Perry.
Mrs. Henshaw was the daughter of the late Willie Perry and Carrie E. Sims Perry. She was also preceded in death by her husband, William Leslie Henshaw.
She was a member of Little River Baptist Church, Bumpass.
