Doris R. Garner
Doris Richardson Garner, 81, of Palmyra, died Wednesday, October 2, 2002.
Graveside services, conducted by the Rev. Tom LeVines and the Rev. Paul St. Clair, were held at 11 a.m., Friday, October 4 at Lyles Baptist Church cemetery, Wilmington.
She is survived by her daughter, Doris Ann G. Harman and her husband, James; two brothers, L. Earl Richardson of Kents Store and Stuart Lee Richardson of Gordonsville; and a number of nieces, nephews and friends.
Mrs. Garner was born May 20, 1921, the daughter of the late Warren C. and Addie Kent Richardson. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Guy Randolph Garner Jr.
She was a member of Goshen Christian Church.

Jean W. Gallihugh
Jean Weakley Gallihugh, 76, of Sperryville, died Sunday, February 2, 2003 at Butlers Nursing Home, Madison.
Funeral services, conducted by the Rev. Henry Daniel Aylor and the Rev. Paul Ritter, were held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, February 5 at the Preddy Funeral Home Chapel, Madison. Interment was in Etlan cemetery.
She is survived by a daughter, Susan Gallihugh Pooton and her husband, William Russell Pooton Jr., of Nethers; a son, Donald S. Gallihugh and his wife, Linda L., of Louisa; and three grandchildren, Courtney L. Pooton, Misty G. Snead and her husband, Brandon, and Jeremy S. Gallihugh.
Mrs. Gallihugh was born July 12, 1926 in Peola Mills, the daughter of the late Gilbert and Gussie Rever-comb Weakley. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Harry William Gallihugh.
She was a member of the Culpeper Womens Auxiliary and a member of the Bethlehem United Methodist Church. She was also a charter member of Madison Womens Club and was a Stanley Home Products dealer.

Jane L. Gooch
Jane Louise Gooch, 71, of Louisa, died Wednesday, January 29, 2003 at her residence.
Funeral services, conducted by the Rev. Charles Sims, were held at 1 p.m. Saturday, February 1 at Shady Grove Baptist Church, Orange. Interment was in Union Baptist Church cemetery, Louisa.
She is survived by two sons, Philmore V. Gooch Jr. of Louisa and Harold Gooch of Deepwater, West Virginia; two daughters-in-law, Vicki and Roxie; a grandson, Jason Gooch and his wife, Christy, of Louisa; a great-grandson, Isaiah Gooch; a brother, Richard Ellis of Spotsylvania; three sisters, Margie Gooch and Julia Ellis of Orange and Mary Cage of Washington D.C.; and a number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Mrs. Gooch was born January 21, 1932, the daughter of the late Matthew and Angie Bell Lewis Ellis. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Philmore V. Gooch Sr.
She graduated from Lightfoot High School, Orange and was a member of Shady Grove Baptist Church.
She was a housewife.

Meredith Jenkins
Meredith Jenkins of Orange, died Sunday, February 2, 2003 at the University of Virginia Medical Center, Charlottesville.
Graveside services, conducted by Dr. Stanley Johnson, will be held at noon Friday, February 7 at Westview cemetery.
The family will receive friends an hour prior to the service at Preddy Funeral Home, Orange.
He is survived by a sister, Martha Snow of Orange; a brother, Hugh Jenkins of Louisa; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Mr. Jenkins was born May 5, 1928 in Madison County, the son of the late Willie Grove and Barbara Nixon Jenkins.
He was a former employee of J. P. Walters Paving Co.
Herbert D. Lemley
Herbert Duane Lemley, 72, of Gum Spring, died Thursday, January 30, 2003.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Saturday, February 1, at Forest Grove Christian Church. Interment was in Greenwood Memorial Gardens.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Florence Lemley; three sons, Daniel and his wife, Dessie, Douglas and his wife, Laura, and Roger and his wife, Betsy; a daughter, Deborah May Harris; seven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and three brothers, Everette Jr., Robert and Norman Lemley.

Roy J. Palmateer
Roy J. Palmateer, 59, of Kents Store, died Saturday, February 1, 2003 at Martha Jefferson Hospital, Charlottesville.
Funeral services, conducted by the Rev. Bobby Green, were held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, February 4 at Beulah Baptist Church. Interment was in the church cemetery.
He is survived by his father, James Edward Palmateer; his wife, Sharon Baker Palmateer; three sons, Edward A. Palmateer and his wife, Janet C., Richard L. Palmateer and his wife, Cheryl K. and Terry J. Palmateer and his wife, Jennifer E.; a daughter, B. J. Morris and her husband, Derrick G.; a sister, Vicki P. Gregory and her husband, Thomas N.; and nine grandchildren.
Mr. Palmateer was born May 15, 1943 in Baltimore, Maryland. He was preceded in death by his mother, Gertrude Pribble Palmateer.
He was a retired patient transportation dispatcher at the University of Virginia Hospital and was a member of the Masonic Day Lodge #56 in Louisa.

George E. Sharpe, 78, of Louisa, died Monday, February 3, 2003 at the University of Virginia Hospital, Charlottesville.
Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, February 6 at Hillcrest cemetery.
He is survived by his wife, Bernice Thacker Sharpe; two stepchildren, Melvin Nottingham Sr. and his wife, Betty, of Louisa and Joyce Franck and her husband, Johnnie, of Mineral; 12 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; his sister, Betty Shifflett of Trevilians; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Mr. Sharpe was born September 20, 1924 in Louisa County, the son of the late Frank and Eva Gammon Sharpe.
He was a retired lumberman and was a United States Army veteran of World War II.

Curtis R. Wolfrey
Curtis Raymond Wolfrey, 74, of Orange, died Saturday, February 1, 2003.
Funeral services, conducted by Pastor John Hodgen, were held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, February 4 at Zion Baptist Church. Interment was in Maplewood cemetery, Gordonsville.
The pallbearers were Ed Adams, Cliff Phillips, Donald Nicklow, Michael Johnson, Richard Correia, Jeff Sparks, Chris Hebert and Chris Fortune.
He is survived by his wife, June Hensley Wolfrey; five daughters, Peagous “Peggy” W. Phillips and her husband, Cliff, of Glen Allen, Gayle W. Trenary and her husband, Rick, of Hilton Head, South Carolina, Jan W. Correia of Chicago, Illinois, Paige W. Nicklow and her husband, Donald, of Orange and Amy W. Adams and her husband, Ed, of Glen Allen; two sons, Tracy Bryant Wolfrey and his wife, Tracy, of Orange and Troy Matthew Wolfrey and his wife, Tanya, of Woodford; a son-in-law, Richard Correia of Alexandria; a brother, Albert B. Wolfrey of Louisa; two sisters, Kathleen W. Duke of Gordonsville and Louise W. Vogt of Louisa; 13 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Mr. Wolfrey was born December 27, 1928 in Louisa County, the son of the late Harry Bryant and Mattie Eugenia Seay Wolfrey.
He was a former employee of American Silk Mill, retired from Liberty Fabrics, Gordonsville and was a cattle farmer.
He was an Army veteran of the Korean Conflict.

Arlene H. Badgett
Arlene Hall Badgett, 92, of Louisa, died Friday, March 21, 2003 at Henrico Doctors’ Hospital, Richmond.
Funeral services, conducted by the Rev. Dennie Burnette, the Rev. David Walton and the Rev. E. Ben Barbour, were held at 11 a.m. Monday, March 24 at Louisa Christian Church. Interment was in Hillcrest cemetery, Louisa.
The pallbearers were Danny Carter, Gregory Madison, Kenneth Smith, Ed Martin, Harvey Fleshman and Jimmie Talley.
She is survived four sisters, Dorothy H. Schmidt of Sandston, Edith H. Miller of Aroda, Thelma H. Deskins of Louisa and Alice H. Spears of Richmond; a brother, Marion O. Hall of Richmond; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Badgett was born October 16, 1910 in Louisa County, the daughter of the late Eddie V. and Jessie Ryan Hall. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Clayborn M. Badgett; a sister, Mary H. Corker; and four brothers, Vernon, Robert, Richard and Allen Hall.
She ws a member of Louisa Christian Church where she was active in her Sunday School class and the Church Women’s Fellowship. She was a former member of the choir, the board of deacons and deaconesses, the Louisa Volunteer Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary and was a KS Club member for over 40 years.
She was employed by the late Dr. H. S. Daniel, the late Dr. Giffith Daniel and Dr. E. P. Daniel and other businesses in Louisa. Mrs. Badgett spent much of her life doing for others.
