Dr. Carsbie Clifton Adams, 80 of Spotsylvania County, died Thursday October 10, 2002 at his home. A hospital administrator, Dr. Adams was the former owner and President of Potomac Pointe Health Center. He was also a member of the Board of Directors for the National Graduate University in Arlington, VA. Dr. Adams served as a consultant to several health related organizations and universities. He was the owner/director for St. Mary's Medical Center in McLean, VA, founder/owner/director for Bel Pre-Health Center in Silver Springs, MD, consultant for General Electric Company-Space and Technology Center in Valley Forge, PA. He was President of the National Research and Development Corporation in Atlanta, GA and was the founder/owner/director of Peachtree Sanitarium in Atlanta, GA. He authored and co-authored numerous books including; The Cure, Space Flight, Careers in Astronautics and Rocketry, Medical and Biological Problems of Space Flight, Dividends From Space and Cold Days of Summer. He published several papers including, Astronauts: Water Support Problem, Nutritional Aspects of Space Flight and Forecast Space Flight. Dr. Adams wrote for and personally recorded specials for ABC weekly broadcasts, was a special technical consultant for MGM Space Production and reviewed books for GE "Challenge" and McGraw-Hill. Dr. Adams had an extensive educational background, which began, at Mercer University, Southern College of Pharmacy where he received his B.S. with honors at the age of 19. He also attended; Oglethorpe University; The University of Georgia where he received an M.S. (equivalent), Hospital Administration, with distinction; Yale University, School of Alcohol Studies; USAF School of Aerospace Medicine; Federal Civil Defense Staff College; Atlanta Christian College - Ph.D., Biological and Social Sciences and continued his education by attending numerous seminars and continuing education in Health Administration. He also received an honorary PhD from Belmont Abbey College in Charlotte, NC. He was a licensed pharmacist in the State of Georgia and was a licensed health care administrator in the state of Maryland and Virginia. Dr. Adams was involved with several societies and organizations including, National Space Club, Pan American Medical Association, British Interplanetary Society, American Rocket Society, American Astronautical Society, Aerospace Medicine Association, American Hospital Association, American Pharmaceutical Association, American College of Apothecaries, New York Academy of Science, Royal Society of Health, New York Writers Club, American College of Health Facility Administrators, Georgia Democratic Forum, Southern College of Pharmacy, Georgia Association of Mental Health, Georgia Multiple Sclerosis Society, Multiple Sclerosis Society, Civitan, Civitan, Finance Committee, Atlanta Junior Chamber of Commerce, Metropolitan Committee on Alcoholism, Georgia Aviation Advisory Committee and Governor's Staff Member. Dr. Adams was a recipient of numerous honors and awards including, "who's Who in the South and Southwest", "Who's Who in the World of Aviation", "Who's Who in Commerce and Industry", "Who's Who in Space" and "Leaders in American Science". Dr. Adams enjoyed hunting, fishing and dancing in his free time. He is survived by his beloved wife of 26 years, Sharon L. Adams, a sister, Elsie Bray of Gainesville, GA, several nieces and two grand nephews. The family will receive friends on Saturday, October 12, 2002 at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel of Fredericksburg from 6:00-8:00 pm. A funeral service will be held on Monday, October 14, 2002 at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel at 11:00 am. Entombment will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens. The family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of contributions to the Salvation Army or to the SPCA.

Mrs. Ina Louise Hayes, 95 of Fredericksburg died Sunday October 20, 2002 at Carriage Hill Nursing Center. She is a member of Henderson United Methodist Church. She is survived by her son; Paul W. Hayes of Fredericksburg; three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. She is the widow of Paul W. Hayes, Sr. A funeral service will be held at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel Fredericksburg on Wednesday October 23, 2002 at 11:00am with the Rev. Richard Carbaugh officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Interment will take place at Henderson United Methodist Church cemetery, Callao, VA at 1:30pm. In lieu of flowers donations in her name may be made to the Henderson United Methodist Church General Fund, P.O. Box 22, Callao VA 22435.

Levi H. "Mac" McAllister, 85, of Culpeper died Wednesday, November 13, 2002, at his residence. He was born July 26, 1917 in Culpeper County to the late Charles W. McAllister and Mollie J. Jenkins McAllister. Mr. McAllister was a veteran of the United States Army, serving in World War II. He worked at the Culpeper Star-Exponent and Fauquier Democrat Newspapers as a printer for over thirty years. He was a member of the Culpeper V.F.W. Post #2524. Survivors include his son, John Robert McAllister and his wife, Christine of Massillon, Ohio, and two daughters, Betty M. Hoyt and her husband Jerry, and Florence M. Holt all of Culpeper. Additional survivors include six grandchildren, Brian McAllister, Tara Wolfe, Lisa H. Dodson, Paula M. Treadway, Hope L. Smith and Stephen Yoder and five great grandchildren. He is also survived by a number of nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers, George, Charlie, Jesse and Bob and four sisters, Weda, Sara, Gladys, and Hazel. The family will receive friends Sunday, November 17, from 7 to 9 p.m. at Found and Sons Chapel, 850 Sperryville Pike, Culpeper. A funeral service will be held Monday, November 18, at 11 a.m. at Found and Sons Chapel with Rev. Steve Dodson officiating. Interment will follow in Culpeper National cemetery with honors provided by the Culpeper American Legion Post #330 and the Culpeper V.F.W. Post #2524. William Tevis "Bill" Richards, 80, of Culpeper died Monday, October 21, 2002, at his residence. He was born May 11, 1922 in Suffolk, VA to the late William Tevis Richards, Sr. and Fannie Byers Richards Humphreys. Mr. Richards was a veteran of the United States Army, serving in World War II. He was a member of Northside Baptist Church in Richmond. Survivors include his wife of forty-two years, Florence S. B. Richards of Culpeper and four children, Harold T. Brown, Jr. and his wife, Elizabeth F. Brown, both of Tyro, VA, Pamela R. Cole and her husband, Robert J. Cole, both of Culpeper, W. Stansbury Richards of Bealeton and Patricia V. Richards of Bealeton and her fiance, Howard A. Pearson of Goldvein. Additional survivors include four grandchildren, Florence and Tommy Brown and Stephanie and Tevis Cole, one brother, Jack W. Richards, and his wife, Nora, of Richmond, and a host of nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends Tuesday, October 22, from 7 to 9 p.m. at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel, 850 Sperryville Pike, Culpeper. A funeral service will be held Wednesday, October 23, at 2 p.m. at Found and Sons Chapel with Rev. John S. Farrar officiating. Interment will follow in Fairview cemetery. Terry James Ketchem, 52, of Culpeper, VA died on October 21, 2002 at his home. He was born on April 18, 1950 in Lewisburg, Pennsylvania, son of Robert and the late Mary Jane Ketchem. Mr. Ketchem owned his own plumbing and air conditioning business which he ran out of Culpeper County. He served in Vietnam with the famous Ghost Riders of the 8/158th Aviation Battalion of the First Air Cavalry Division in 1970 - 1972. Mr. Ketchem was a long standing member of the Culpeper Better Business Bureau, and a proud member of Piedmont Area Chapter # 752 of Vietnam Veterans of America. In addition to his father, he is survived by his wife Brenda Sue Ketchem, his three sons Terry James Ketchem Jr., Matthew P. Ketchem, and Devin M. Ketchem. He is also survived by his five daughters, Peggy Marie Ketchem, Amanda Lohr, Mindie Lynn Dixon, Charitie Mae Smith, and Bryanna Nichole Curley Ketchem, and eleven grandchildren. He has three surviving brothers, Steve Ketchem, Robert Ketchem, and William Ketchem. He was preceded in death by his mother, and a sister, Kathy Perry. A memorial service will be held Friday, October 25, 2002, at 2 p.m. at Found and Sons Chapel with Minister Jo Agee of Culpeper Christian Assembly officiating. Janie Mary Woodward, 80, of Culpeper died Tuesday, October 22, 2002, at Culpeper Health and Rehabilitation Center. She was born February 14, 1922 in Rappahannock County to the late Columbus "Lum" Washington Jenkins and Ada Florence Jenkins. Mrs. Woodward is survived by two sisters, Edna Mae Wood of Stanardsville and Kitty Elizabeth Hitt of Culpeper, three nieces, Lynn Elliott who was like a daughter, and Brenda Edwards and Jackie Settle, and two nephews, Donald Hitt and Michael Wayne Wood. She is also survived by a number of additional nieces, nephews and family members. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Hessie Robertson Woodward, two sons, Charles Ashby Woodward and Robert Allen Woodward. She is survived by her close friends, Jerry and Joyce Bailey, of White Shop. Mr. Kenneth Allen "Perch" Mills, 63 of Woodford died after a long illness, Wednesday December 18, 2002 at his home. Mr. Mills worked for G.C. Murphy and Ames department stores for over 17 years as a warehouse foreman until he retired. He served in the U.S. Army during 1963 to 1966. Perch also enjoyed fishing a lot. He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Mary Mills; a daughter, Cynthia Setliff of Corbin; a son, Michael Mills of Fredericksburg; and a granddaughter, MacKenzie Leeann Setliff of Corbin. The family will receive friends at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel of Fredericksburg on Monday, December 23, 2002 from 12:00 - 1:00 pm. A graveside service will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens Chapel at 1:30 pm with the Rev. Randy Newsome officiating. Entombment will follow in Sunset Mausoleum.
