Walter Davis Beahm, 89, of College Park, Maryland died March 21, 2003, at Forest Glen Nursing Facility, Silver Spring, Maryland after a long illness. Born May 31, 1913, Mr. Beahm formerly of Oak Park, VA was the eldest son of the late John Will and Rosie Corbin Beahm. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his former wife, Ruby Jenkins Beahm, brothers, Lewis Beahm, Daniel Beahm, Clarence Beahm and Benjamin Beahm and sisters, Bertha Mae Beahm, Emma Corbin, Dorothy Beahm and Betty Ann Raynor. He is survived by his daughter, Ruby Jeanne Groves and son-in-law, Larry of Madison, VA, three grandchildren, Linda Cahall of Severn, MD, Randy and his wife, Lynn both of Shadyside, MD and Gary and his wife, Eileen both of Severn, MD. He has six great-grandchildren, Krystal, Christopher, Alex, Randall, Tyler and Jacob, four step great-grandchildren, Stephanie, Tiffany, Nick and Destiny. His surviving brothers and sisters are Milton Beahm of Hyattesville, MD, Margaret Donald of Fredericksburg, VA, John Beahm of Madison, VA, Sarah Jane Thomas and Charles Beahm both of Rochelle, VA, Mary Ellen Beahm Spicer of Fairless Hills, PA, Claude Beahm of Mechanicsville, MD, Mabel Clore of Brightwood, VA, Gladys Nicholson and Tommy Beahm both of Culpeper, VA, and a number of nieces, nephews and friends. As a young boy, Walter worked for several farmers in Madison County. He moved to Maryland in 1938 with his wife and daughter where he worked as a heavy equipment operator, handyman and carpenter. He was employed at Walter Reed Army Hospital and ERCO of Riverdale, MD. For the last fifty years he was a self-employed tree surgeon working primarily in Prince Georges County. He was well known for his precision and ability to remove large trees in precarious locations without damage to nearby structures, lines, shrubs, etc. He often had several spectators observing to see just how he would get the job done. He was patient, proud and philosophical loving to tell stories of days gone by. The family will receive friends Sunday, March 23, from 7 to 9 p.m. at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel, 850 Sperryville Pike, Culpeper. A funeral service will be held Monday, March 24, at 2 p.m. at Found and Sons Chapel with Rev. Charles E. Beahm officiating. Interment will follow in Fairview cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Gideon's International, P. O. Box 83, Culpeper, VA 22701 and/or Culpeper Free Methodist Church Building Fund, 1136 Sperryville Pike, Culpeper, VA 22701. Found and Sons Funeral Chapel of Culpeper is in charge of the arrangements.

Gudrun Adele McGinty, 73, of Fredericksburg, formerly of Dunlap, Illinios, died on Saturday, March 29, 2003 at Carriage Hill Nursing Home. Gudrun was a member of the Eastern Star in Peoria, Ill. She worked as a market researcher for Barker Research and as a caregiver for Kelly Services for four years. She is survived by a son, Douglas James McGinty and his wife, Denise Ingram of Stafford; a daughter, Karen Adele McGinty of Denver; a sister, Ellen R. Hudson and her husband, Lloyd of Colorado Springs and numerous nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be held on Saturday, April 5, 2003 at Helmar cemetery, Newark, Ill at 2:00 pm with the Rev. Eugene Albright Gaines, 76 of Culpeper, died Friday March 21, 2003 at the University of Virginia Medical Center. Mr. Gaines was born November 8, 1926 in Reva to the late Claude B. Gaines and Mary Emily Hitt Gaines. Mr. Gaines is survived by his wife, Evelyn Mae Gaines, two sons, Gerald M. Gaines of Fairfax and Edward C. Gaines of Maryland, two daughters, Regina D. Oliver of Tennessee and Carolyn J. Taylor of Maryland, and two step daughters, Joyce A. Miller of Maryland and Frances M. Adams of Culpeper. Additional survivors include three brothers, Arthur B. Gaines and John K. Gaines, both of Culpeper, and Thomas R. Gaines of Maryland, and one sister, Anna J. Hall of Maryland. He is also survived by fourteen grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren, numerous cousins, close friends and loved ones. In addition to his parents, Mr. Gaines is preceded in death by a brother, Claude M. Gaines. The family will receive friends on Monday, March 24, 2003 from 7-9 p.m. at Found & Sons Funeral Chapel, 850 Sperryville Pike, Culpeper, Virginia. A funeral service will be held Tuesday, March 25, 2003 at 2 p.m. in the Found and Sons Chapel with Rev. Jeff Light officiating. Interment will follow in the Novum Baptist Church cemetery. Military honors will be provided by Culpeper American Legion Post 330 and V.F.W. Post 2425.

William Henry Bradicich, 82, of Spotsylvania County died on Monday, April 7, 2003 at Mary Washington Hospital. Mr. Bradicich was a lifetime member of the V.F.W and was a member of St. Matthews Catholic Church. He was a veteran of the US Army Air Corp and served during World War II in the Pacific and was a customer engineer with IBM until he retired after 35 years. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Dorothy R. Bradicich; a son, Stephen W. Bradicich and his wife, Eileen of Indianapolis; three grandsons, Stephan, Michael and Drew; two great granddaughters, Kaitlyn and Sarah. The family will receive friends on, Tuesday, April 8, 2003 at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel of Fredericksburg from 7:00-9:00 pm. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, April 9, 2003 at St. Matthews Catholic Church at 10:00 am with Father Ronald Escalante officiating. Inurnment will take place in St. Mary's cemetery in Ridgefield, Connecticut. Sharon McLeod, 62, of Spotsylvania, died Saturday, March 22, 2003 at Mary Washington Hospital. Sharon recently worked for the Automatic Rolls of Virginia company until she retired. She is a member of Goshen Baptist Church and enjoyed reading, going to the library and crocheting. She is survived by her husband of 26 years, William E. McLeod; a daughter, Pamela B. Roberson of Greenville, SC; four sons; Russell Branham of Columbia, SC, Linder "Stoney" Branham of Fredericksburg, William E. McLeod IV of Chandler, AZ, Joseph A. McLeod of Spotsylvania; her mother, Hazel C. Bostic of Waynesboro; four sisters, Nancy Embree of Waynesboro, Barbara Fromley of Hampton, VA, Nancy Messer of Elkins WV, Debbie Reynolds of Elkins WV; two brothers, James Gallahugh of Orange, Howard McDowell of Ashland; seven grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends at Found and Sons Funeral Chapels - Fredericksburg on Monday March 24, 2003 from 6:30pm to 8:30pm. A funeral service will be held Tuesday March 25, 2003 at 11:00am at Good Hope Baptist Church with the Rev. John Hodgen, Rev. Mike Nickle and Rev. Howard McDowell officiating. Vida Mae Thomasson, 71, of Colonial Beach died on Monday, March 24, 2003 at Mary Washington Health Care Center. She is survived by her husband of 50 years, Willie "Bill" Thomasson, four sons, Robert S. Thomasson of Florida, Ronald A. Thomasson of Lake Anna, Weldon F. Thomasson of Fredericksburg and Lawrence E. Thomasson of Crofton, MD; her mother, Dora Cross of Thomas, WV; six sisters, Doren Tilton, Judith Cottrell and Wanda Whitehair, all of Ohio, Grace Polemus of Colorado, Karen Braner of Great Falls, VA and Lillian Markley of WV; three brothers, Junior Ray Cross of Ohio, Willard E. Cross of VA, and Charles W. Cross of MD, seven grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, March 27, 2003 at Berea Baptist Church at 7:00pm with the Rev. Jeff Hudgins officiating. Burial will take place at a later date. Mr. Murrel Lee "Buster" Myers, 77, of Fredericksburg died on Wednesday, March 19, 2003 at Mary Washington Hospital. He was born on June 14, 1925 in Lignum, Virginia to the late Eunice Taylor Myers and John Leslie Myers. Mr. Myers was a veteran of World War II, a lifetime member of the VFW Post #2524, Past President of the Fredericksburg Senior Citizens Group, and a mason in Fairfax Masonic Lodge #43. He was a Federal government employee for 33 years working at the National Institute of Health. Mr. Myers is survived by his wife of 57 years, Doris Myers of Fredericksburg; two sons and their wives, Murrel L. Myers, Jr. and Donna of Frederick, Maryland and John L. Myers and Darlene of Culpeper. Additional survivors include five grandchildren, Justin Myers of Valley Forge, PA, Jonathan Myers of Culpeper, Christian Myers of Washington D.C., Joe Myers of Long Beach, CA, and Jessica Myers of Eugene, OR. He is also survived by three sisters, Rosemary Cash of Virginia, Evelyn Raines of Fredericksburg, and Jean Hawkins of Culpeper; one brother, James Harold Myers of Lignum. The family will receive friends on Friday, March 21, 2003 at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel of Fredericksburg from 7:00-9:00 pm. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 22, 2003 at the Hopewell United Methodist Church, Lignum, at 11:00 am with the Rev. Lois Phemister officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Mr. Harry E. Darr, Jr., 71, of King George died on March 15, 2003 at Mary Washington Hospital. Mr. Darr loved the outdoors, fishing, hunting, and gardening were some of his favorites. He enjoyed spending time with Rusty, his dog. He had many jobs through out his life. He was a carpenter, airline mechanic, and painter. Mr. Darr loved carving. He was a member of Carpenter's Union #1078. Besides the love of the outdoors, he also cared deeply about his family. Putting his trade to work he built his own home and many of his children's homes. He was especially proud of the work at the Army- Navy Country Club and Mary Washington Hospital. Mr. Darr is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Joyce L. Darr of King George; four daughters and their husbands, Patty and Fred T. Sullivan, Jr. Stafford, Cathy and Ronnie Hall of King George, Susie and Dennie Peregory of Stafford, and Amby and Keith Taylor of Lumberton, North Carolina; two sons, Harry E. "Billy" Darr III of Manheim, PA and Michael and his wife, Wendy Darr, of King George. Additional survivors include nine grandchildren, Carley T. Peregory, Fred T. Sullivan, III and Quintin Sullivan, Dianna Baughman, Neil Darr, Travis K. and Troy K. Taylor, and Sarah Beth and Sean Michael Darr; eight great grandchildren, Kitty, Tori, Ren, Kember, Joseph, Logan, Mason, and Gavin. A memorial service will be held on Monday, March 17, 2003 at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel, Fredericksburg, at 7 p.m. Interment will take place where he was born in Asheville, North Carolina.

Margaret Crossman Kirk, 90, of Culpeper died Thursday, April 10, 2003, at Culpeper Health and Rehabilitation Center. She was born April 29, 1913 in Washington, DC to the late Ludwig Crossman and Alvina Halfpap Crossman. Mrs. Kirk is survived by a daughter, Bonita Cousins of Ashland, VA, one grandchild, Cristin Cousins, two beloved nephews, L.T. "Jr." Crossman and William "Bill" Crossman both of Culpeper and a host of other nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Fred S. Kirk and three brothers, Charlie W. Crossman., L.E. Crossman and Henry Crossman. A graveside service will be held Saturday, April 12, at 10 a.m. at Fairview cemetery with Rev. Lynn R. Wilbur officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service on Saturday at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel, 850 Sperryville Pike, Culpeper. Found and Sons Funeral Chapel of Culpeper is handling the arrangements.

Robert Judson James, 78, of Brandy Station, died Saturday, March 1, 2003 at INOVA Fairfax Hospital. He was born December 30, 1924 in Korea, VA to the late Alvin Judson James and Julia E. Estes James. Mr. James was a veteran of the United States Army. He retired from the Virginia Department of Transportation in February 1988 after fifteen years of service. Mr. James resided at Farley Acres Farm for forty-eight years where he loved all aspects of farming. He was a member of Amissville United Methodist Church. Mr. James is survived by his wife of fifty-seven years, Elizabeth G. James, two daughters, Emily Ellis of Culpeper and Anne Blankenship and her husband, Jr. both of Remington and two sons, Garland James of Viewtown and Bill James of The Plains. Additional survivors include three sisters, Rebecca Harrup of Scottsville, Mildred Chapman of Crozet and Judy Chandler of Viewtown. He is also survived by eleven grandchildren, Bobby Ellis of Stanardsville, Andy Ellis of Boston, Cindy Testerman of Culpeper, Joy Blankenship, Karen Ellis and Brian James all of Remington, Stephanie Staats and Danny James both of Brandy Station, Angie Brown and Kenny James both of Madison and Matthew James of Bealeton, and thirteen great grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Braxton James. The family will receive friends Tuesday, March 4, from 7 to 9 p.m. at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel, 850 Sperryville Pike, Culpeper. A funeral service will be held Wednesday, March 5, at 2 p.m. at Found and Sons Chapel with Rev. Lee Brown and Kenny James officiating. Interment will follow in Hillcrest Memory Gardens, in Jeffersonton with honors provided by the Culpeper American Legion Post #330 and the Culpeper V.F.W. Post #2524. Pallbearers will be his grandsons. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Amissville United Methodist Church, 14567 Lee Highway, Amissville, VA 20106, and/or the Brandy Station Volunteer Fire Department, P.O. Box 19, Brandy Station, VA 22714, and/or the Remington Volunteer Rescue Squad, P.O. Box 159, Remington, VA 22734. Found and Sons Funeral Chapel of Culpeper is in charge of the arrangements.
