Eleanor Barnes Willis, 71, of Culpeper, Va., died on Tuesday, Aug. 19, 2003, at Culpeper Regional Hospital.
She was born September 27, 1931 in New York, N.Y.
She was a homemaker.
Her parents were the late Walter and Katherine Sobeski Barnes.
Her husband was the late E. Turpin Willis.
Survivors include two sons, Edward Stelli and his wife Susane of Cary, N.C., John Stelli of Marathon, Fla.; a brother, Bernard Barnes of Highland, N.Y.; a sister, Wanda Gouch of York, Pa.
Funeral services will be held at a later date.

Frances L. Semones, 82, of Kearneysville, W.Va., formerly of Amissville, Va., died on August 19, 2003, at Heartland of Martinsburg, W.Va. The family will receive friends today from 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. at Moser Funeral Home in Warrenton. A graveside service will be held today at 2 p.m. at Hillcrest Memory Gardens, Jeffersonton, Va. Margaret Grace Shaw
Margaret Grace Shaw, 46, of Culpeper, died Monday, August 18, 2003, at her residence. She was born August 27, 1956 in Washington, DC to Eileen Donohue Delany of New Jersey and the late James Francis Delany.
Mrs. Shaw was a member of Precious Blood Catholic Church.
Survivors include her husband, Edward Carroll Shaw, her mother, four sisters, Eileen "Tudie" Pearson, Jane Perry, Patricia Jones and Kathleen Delany, and five nieces, four nephews and one great nephew.
She is also survived by her father-in-law, Carroll R. Shaw, two brothers-in-law, Michael Shaw and John Shaw, and two sisters-in-law, Susan Anton and Barbara Shaw.
In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her mother-in-law, Helen Shaw.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, Aug. 21, from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel, 850 Sperryville Pike, Culpeper.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, Aug. 22, at 10 a.m. at Precious Blood Catholic Church with Fr. Leo Zonneveld officiating.
Interment will follow in Culpeper National cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Michael Shaw, John Shaw, Edmond Delany, Peter Delany, Timmy Delany and Michael Delany.

Carlyon Barber Shellman
Carlyon Barber Shellman, 61, of Wolftown, died Monday, Aug. 18, 2003, at her residence. She was born January 9, 1942 in Washington, D.C.
She was a technician at General Foods Maxwell House Coffee Division for many years and was a loving antique person at the Country Shoppes of Culpeper.
She is survived by her mother, Leonora Elizabeth Barber of Culpeper; her husband of 43 years, Joseph Thomas Shellman, Sr. of Wolftown, one daughter, Cheryl Kim Davis and husband Jim of Ohio; two sons, Joseph Thomas Shellman, Jr. and Duane Allen Shellman both of Wolftown; two brothers, Tom Barber of Culpeper, Clifford Barber of Fairfax, three sisters, Betty Betsill of South Carolina, Marilyn Barber of Culpeper, Linda Wright of Tazwell; three grandchildren, James Jr., Christopher, and Cynthia Davis all of Ohio; and many other loving relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her father, Clarence Overby Barber, a daughter, Teresa Lee Shellman, and a son, Ronald William Shellman.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday, Aug. 21, at 10 a.m. at Preddy Funeral Home in Madison with the Rev. William Watson officiating.
Interment will be in Stonewall Memory Gardens in Manassas at 1 p.m.
The family will receive friends from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. this evening at the funeral home.

Joseph A. Snyder
Joseph A. Snyder, 94, of Stafford, formerly of Culpeper, died Friday, Aug. 15, 2003, at Mary Washington Hospital.
Mr. Snyder was a member of the North Stafford Church of Christ. He was a also a member of the Carpenter’s Local Union #132 for 60 years. Very few men were more kind or gentle.
Mr. Snyder was preceded in death by his wife, Mildred D. Snyder.
He is survived by a son and a daughter-in-law, Jon Richard “Bud” and Katherine Diane Snyder of Alexandria; two granddaughters, Vanessa and Suzanne; and two sisters-in-law, Donna Guion of Stafford and Eula Gertrude Wills of Lockport, N.Y. Also surviving are numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
The family will receive friends Monday, Aug. 18 from 7 to 9 p.m.
A funeral service will be held Tuesday, Aug. 19 at 10 a.m. at the Mullins & Thompson Funeral Service Fredericksburg Chapel. Interment will be at Fairview cemetery in Culpeper at 12:30 p.m.

Amalia Eleonora Tumbelaka
Amalia Eleonora Tumbelaka, 76, of Amissville, died Saturday, Aug. 16, 2003, at Oak Springs Comprehensive.
She was born on March 12, 1927, in Indonesia to Alexander E. Gerungan and Amelia R. Corungan.
Mrs. Tumbelaka was a homemaker and a member of Culpeper Presbyterian Church.
Survivors include her husband, John Tumbelaka of Amissville; one son, Charles Richard Tumbelaka of Indonesia; two daughters, Fabienne Monique Tumbelaka of Indonesia and Tarina Christina Thibeault of Amissville; one brother, Jaap Gerungan of Indonesia; and one sister, Maria Sumampouw of Indonesia. She is also survived by three grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Jessy Corungan of Indonesia.
The family will receive friends Monday, Aug. 18 from 7 to 9 p.m. at Moser Funeral Home, 233 Broadview Ave., Warrenton.
A funeral service will be held Tuesday, Aug. 19 at 7 p.m. at Moser Funeral Home. Interment will be private.
Edwin Milton Yancey Jr.
Edwin Milton Yancey Jr., 68, of Rixeyville, died on Saturday, Aug. 15, 2003, at Winchester Medical Center.
Mr. Yancey was born on April 5, 1935, in Culpeper to the late Edwin M. Yancey Sr. and Edna Marie Hawkins Yancey.
He was a member of Alum Springs Baptist Church and loved fox hunting with Bobby Baughman, his best friend for more than 40 years.
Survived include his wife, Shirley Marie Yancey; three daughters, Maxine Scott and her husband Eric of Charles Town, W.Va., Ann Jenkins and her husband Joshua of Culpeper, and Pat Mills and her husband Andrew of Rixeyville; and one son, Eddie Yancey and his wife Mary of Culpeper.
Additional survivors include 11 grandchildren, Aaris Flickinger, Kristin Flickinger, Brian Flickinger, Eric Scott II, Charla Yancey, Rachel Yancey, Eddie Paul Yancey, Hope Jenkins, Joshua Jenkins Jr., Ashleigh Yancey and Traci Mills.
He is also survived by one brother, William Yancey and his wife Jean of Culpeper; a niece, Lynne Baker; and a nephew, Dale Yancey.
Besides his parents, Mr. Yancey was preceded in death by one sister, Janie Mae Yancey.
The family will receive friends Tuesday, Aug. 19 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel, 850 Sperryville Pike.
A funeral service will be held Wednesday, Aug. 20 at 11 a.m. at Found and Sons Chapel with Preacher Charles Shifflett officiating. Interment will follow at Calvary Baptist Church cemetery.

Brian Throssell
Brian Throssell, 70, of Fredericksburg, Va., formerly of Culpeper, Va., passed away on Wednesday, Aug. 13, 2003, at Mary Washington Hospital.
Born September 5, 1932 in Hull, England to the late James and Violet Allison Throssell, Brian moved to the USA in 1950, and after serving at the British Embassy, he worked most of his life as a land surveyor. He was also past president of Midday Lions Club, attended Mitchell’s Presbyterian Church and was active there in the men’s club, he served in the Royal Air Force, assisted in the development with national surveying standards, was a local representative for the draft board and served as a court-appointed guardian to many.
Surviving Brian include his wife, Elizabeth Throssell of Fredericksburg, Va., formerly of Culpeper, Va., three daughters, Patricia Clapp and her husband Roger of Richmond, Va., Karen Rawson and her husband David of Fredericksburg, Va. and Carole duBois and her husband Steven of Fredericksburg, Va. and seven grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, Aug. 16, at Clore-English Funeral Home at 11 a.m. with a time of visitation one hour prior to the service. On Monday, Aug. 18, there will be a visitation at 10 a.m. at Tetrick Funeral Home, Elizabethton, Tenn., with interment to follow.
