Harold William May, 70, of Orange, died on Wednesday, April 16, 2003, at his residence. A funeral service will be held today at 2 p.m. at Preddy Funeral Home in Orange. The Rev. Dwane Pugh will officiate. Interment will be in the North Pamunkey Baptist Church cemetery, Rt. 629 in Orange, with full military honors by American Legion Post #330 of Culpeper.

Elizabeth “Betty” Rosenberger, 76, of Culpeper, died Wednesday, April 16, 2003, at Culpeper Regional Hospital. The family will receive friends on Monday, April 21, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel, 850 Sperryville Pike, Culpeper. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday, April 22, at 10 a.m. at Precious Blood Catholic Church with Fr. Leo Zonneveld officiating. Interment will follow in Culpeper National cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Precious Blood Catholic Church, 114 E. Edmondson Street, Culpeper, VA 22701. Found and Sons Funeral Chapel of Culpeper is handling the arrangements.

Mary Virginia Britton Rumsey, 95, of Somerville, Va., died on April 4, 2003, at her home. A memorial service will be held on Sunday, May 4, at 2 p.m. at Grace Episcopal Church, Casanova, Va. by Rev. Barbara Clark Wayland, 49, of Sperryville, Va., died on April 16, 2003, at the University of Virginia Medical Center in Charlottesville, Va. A graveside service will be held today at 11 a.m. in the Wayland Family cemetery, Sperryville, Va. with Pastor Merlin Shorb officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to the Sperryville United Methodist Church, 3731 Sperryville Pike, Sperryville, VA 22740, or to the Rappahannock County Relay for Life c/o Ben Atkins, 51 Quann Lane, Chester Gap, VA 22623. Helen Marie (Curry) Bryans
Helen Marie (Curry) Bryans, 75, of Culpeper, Va., and formerly of Mount Vernon, Ohio, died on Sunday, April 13, 2003, at the Culpeper Health Care Center.
She was born on September 21, 1927 in Athens, Alabama to the late Joseph and Virgie Mae (Bryant) Curry.
She was a former member of the Mulberry Street United Methodist Church. Mrs. Bryans was also a member of the Rainbow Girls and Eastern Stars where she served as Past Worthy Matron of the Eudora Chapter #385 in Marshall, Michigan.
She is survived by her loving husband of 53 years, George Edward Bryans of Culpeper, Va.; two daughters, Sue Bryans of Culpeper, Va., Brenda Bryans of Delaplane, Va.; five grandchildren, Jeffrey J. Kempton, Shawn J. Kempton, Nichole L. Kempton, Michael S. Bryans, Erik C. Hansen; two great-grandchildren, Tyler and Amber Kempton; a sister, Robbie (William) Graham of Mount Vernon and many nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, James Elbert Curry and Ronald Douglas Curry and a sister, Ann Farmer.
Friends may call on Thursday, April 17, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Flowers-Snyder Funeral Home where an Eastern Star service will be held at 8:15 p.m.
A funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Friday, April 18, at 2 p.m. Burial will follow in Newark Memorial Gardens.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, P.O. Box 334, Mount Vernon, Ohio 43050.

Carol S. Parsons
Carol S. Parsons, 62, of Culpeper, Va., died on April 13, 2003, at her daughter’s residence in Charlottesville.
She was born on June 24, 1940 in West Virginia.
She was an administrative specialist for VDOT.
Her parents were the late Herbert H. Hutson and the late Oca Mae Cunningham Hutson.
Her husband was the late Philip Wade Parsons.
Survivors include one daughter, Stacy P. Ayres of Charlottesville, Va.; one son, Gregory L. Parsons of Orange, Va.; one sister, Joan Weber of Clarksburg, West Virginia; one brother, Don Hutson of Clarksburg, West Virginia.
Funeral services will be private.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 1747, Culpeper, VA 22701.

Rozelda Sue Carpenter Reynolds
Rozelda Sue Carpenter Reynolds, 53, of Locust Dale, died Tuesday, April 15, 2003, at her residence.
Born February 15, 1950 in Charlottesville, she was the daughter of the late Charles Joseph Carpenter.
Mrs. Reynolds was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and was active in the Madison Cub Scouts, Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts.
She is survived by her mother, Edrene Dawson Carpenter of Aroda; her husband, Herbert Maynard Reynolds of Locust Dale; one daughter, Rebecca Sue Reynolds of Locust Dale; three sons, James Benjamin Reynolds of Locust Dale, Charles Everard Reynolds of Oak Park, Hunter Maynard Reynolds of Wolftown; three brothers, Joseph Bruce Carpenter, Philip Newton Carpenter, both of Barboursville, and David Carpenter of Aroda; two grandchildren, Hunter Michael Reynolds and Grace Louise Reynolds both of Wolftown.
A memorial service will be held on Thursday, April 17, at 3 p.m. at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Culpeper conducted by Bishop Mike Paul.
The family will receive friends this evening from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Preddy Funeral Home in Madison.

Charles Weldon Sisk
Charles Weldon Sisk, 72, of Culpeper, Va., died on April 14, 2003, at Culpeper Regional Hospital.
He was born November 3, 1930 in Rappahannock County.
He was self-employed in landscaping.
His parents were the late Weldon Martin Sisk and the late Fannie Sisk.
Survivors include four sisters, Flossie Nichols of Remington, Va., Mazie Weakley of Culpeper, Va., Florine Miller of Culpeper, Va. and Mildred Jenkins of Madison, Va.; one brother, Otis Sisk of Sperryville, Va.; and a number of nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held on Friday, April 18, at 11 a.m. at Etlan cemetery.
Pastor Charles Clinedinst will officiate.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, April 17, from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Clore-English Funeral Home.

Bud W. Wharton
Bud W. Wharton, 85, of Warrenton, Va., died on April 14, 2003, at the Oak Springs Comp. Care Center in Warrenton, Va.
He was born April 16, 1917 in Rappahannock County, Va. a son of the late George Washington Wharton and Daisy Maude Haynes Wharton.
Mr. Wharton was a former longtime resident of Culpeper, Va. He worked as a carpenter for most of his life.
He was a veteran of World War II having served in the U.S. Army. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #2524 in Culpeper.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mildred Russell Wharton on October 5, 2002.
He is survived by his two daughters, Dotty Crane of Warrenton, Va., and Joyce Baker of Culpeper, Va.; one son, Linwood Wharton of Bryantown, Md.; five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, April 17, from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Moser Funeral Home in Warrenton.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, April 18, at 10 a.m. at Moser Funeral Home with the Rev. John Chadsey officiating.
Interment will be in Culpeper National cemetery with military honors by American Legion Post #330 and VFW Post #2524.
Pallbearers will be Todd Atkins, Jack and Billy Fincham, E.J. Pullen, Bernie Soutter, Sammy Crane.

George R. Burgess
A funeral service for George R. Burgess of Reva, will be held today at 11 a.m. at Found and Sons Chapel with the Rev. Kenneth F. Huneycutt officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. A private interment in the family cemetery will follow with military honors provided by the American Legion Post #330 and the V.F.W. Post #2524. Found and Sons Funeral Chapel of Culpeper is handling the arrangements.

A funeral service for Madeline Pendleton Christian will be held today at 1 p.m. at Bethel Baptist Church, Amissville, Va. with the Rev. Forest Freeman, Pastor, officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. until time of the service at the church. W.C. Thompson Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

A funeral service for Carolton Burman “Carroll” Clybern, of Culpeper, will be held today at 2 p.m. at Culpeper Free Methodist Church with the Rev. Richard C. Barber officiating. Aaron Clark Gaskins, 86, of Linden, Va., died on April 13, 2003, at the V.A. Medical Center in Martinsburg, W.Va. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, April 17, at 12 noon at Mt. Morris Baptist Church, 5342 Leeds Manor Road, Hume, Va. with Pastor Lindsay Green officiating. Interment will be in Mt. Morris Community cemetery, Hume, Va. with military honors by Liberty High School Jr. ROTC. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 10 a.m. until time of the service at the church. Mabel V. Lunceford
Mabel V. Lunceford, 85, of Warrenton, Va., died April 15, 2003, at the INOVA Fairfax Hospital in Falls Church.
She was born September 29, 1917 in Fauquier County the youngest daughter of the late Granville S. and Rosa Hurst Lunceford.
She was educated in Fauquier County Public Schools and was a graduate of the former Madison College, now James Madison University.
Miss Lunceford taught for 42 years for Fauquier County Public Schools retiring in 1979 to her farm home. She was a member of National, State and County Retired Teachers Associations. After retirement she did much volunteer work helping elderly friends, neighbors and relatives. She was a member of Broad Run Baptist Church at New Baltimore and formerly had attended Friendly Friday Folks.
She is survived by a sister, Ruth L. Walker of Fairfax, Va., one nephew and two nieces.
A graveside service will be held on Saturday, April 19, at 2:30 p.m. at Warrenton cemetery by Rev. I. Everett Hughes, Jr.

Elizabeth “Betty” Rosenberger, 76, of Culpeper, died Wednesday, April 16, 2003, at Culpeper Regional Hospital. She was born February 4, 1927 in Pottsville, Pennsylvania to the late William Derr and Mary O’Neil Derr.
Mrs. Rosenberger was a member of Precious Blood Catholic Church.
Betty is survived by her two loving sons, George Rosenberger and his wife, Ginny Sommers of New Baltimore and Greg Rosenberger of Richmond.
Additional survivors include two sisters, Margaret Smith of Levittown, PA and “Kit” Katherine Penkunas of Augusta, GA, two grandchildren, Mary Raiford and Michael Rosenberger, two step grandchildren, Robert Pritchard, Jr. and Kathleen Taylor and seven great-grandchildren.
She is also survived by two nieces, Peggy Smith and Jane Penkunas and many other close nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband of fifty-three years, William Rosenberger, Jr., her three brothers and one sister.
The family will receive friends on Monday, April 21, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel, 850 Sperryville Pike, Culpeper.

She was born on July 15, 1953 in Rappahannock County.
She was the Executive Editor and General Manager of the Rappahannock News.
Her parents were the late John Marshall Clark and the late Annie Irene Pullen Clark.
She is survived by her husband, William T. Wayland of Sperryville, Va.; one daughter, Tiffany Anne Wayland of Sperryville, Va.; one brother, John M. Clark, Jr. of Washington, Va.; four sisters, Betty Pullen of Washington, Va., Shirley Baldwin of Pinnacle, N.C., Rhonda Almarode of Strasburg, Va., Maxie Davis of Culpeper, Va.
A graveside service will be held on Saturday, April 19, at 11 a.m. in the Wayland Family cemetery, Sperryville, Va. with Pastor Merlin Shorb officiating.
