A funeral service will be conducted Saturday at 1 p.m. at McLaughlin Funeral Home with the Rev. Garland Humphries and the Rev. Miller officiating. Interment will follow at Emory cemetery in Cedar Creek.
The family will receive friends Friday from 7 p.m. until 8 p.m. at McLaughlin Funeral Home or any time at the home of Kenny Gwin.

CLIFTON FORGE - Ethel Marie Broughman Madison, 61, of 633 1/2 Commercial Street, Clifton Forge, died Wednesday, March 6, 2002, at her residence.
A funeral service will be conducted Friday at 11 a.m. from the chapel of Nicely Funeral Home with the Rev. W. Pembroke Hall officiating. Interment will follow at Alleghany Memorial Park in Low Moor.

Virginia "Ginny" Ross Wright, 74, of 309 East Gordon Street, died Wednesday, March 6, 2002, at her home.
A funeral service will be conducted Saturday from 4 p.m. until 5 p.m. at Arritt Funeral Home in Covington.
Virginia L. Cooper
Virginia Lee Cooper, 77, who had resided in Manassas much of her life, died Friday, Aug. 9, 2002, at the home she shared with a daughter and son-in-law in rural Culpeper. She had been ill for several years.
Mrs. Cooper was born Jan. 18, 1925, in Washington, D.C. Her family moved to Northern Virginia where she met and married
her late husband, Robert L. (Bobby) Cooper, in 1943 in Fairfax. They were the parents of two daughters, Andrea and Cheryl.
The Cooper family settled in Manassas in the 1960s, and in 1968 opened Cooper?s Auto Body at 8916 Reb Yank Drive. The business was co-owned by Bobby and his brother, Andy Cooper. Virginia Cooper did the accounting and served as office manager of the business, which was in operation until her husband?s retirement in 1982. He died of cancer in 1983.
Mrs. Cooper later resided with one of her daughters, Cheryl (Cooper) Anderson, and her family in Nokesville, Va. In 1998, she and her daughter?s family moved to the Rixeyville area, near Culpeper. Virginia soon became a member of Culpeper?s Precious Blood Catholic Church, where she derived much happiness in participating in the services and church activities.
Mrs. Cooper — who was known to her offspring and their children affectionately as ?Momo,? — made an effort to spend as much time as she could with her various grandchildren and great-grandchildren, affording each child her personal attention and imparting the wisdom of her years.
Surviving are her two children, Mrs. James (Andrea) Higgs, of Cobb Island, Md. and Mrs. James (Cheryl) Anderson of rural Culpeper; a brother, Charles Herold, of Cocoa Beach, Fla.; a sister, Vivian Midkiff, of Olney, Md.; eight grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family received friends from 2 to 4 p.m. and from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 14, at the Murphy Funeral Home, 1102 West Broad Street, Falls Church. A mass of Christian burial was offered at 11 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 15, at the Precious Blood Catholic Church in Culpeper with Father Leo Zonneveld officiating.
Interment was at the Mount Pleasant United Methodist Church cemetery in Taylorstown, Va. following committal prayers and services at 2:30 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 15, at the United Methodist Church.

Dorothy Gayheart
Dorothy Morris Gayheart, 95, of Culpeper, died Aug. 17, 2002, at her residence. She was born Jan. 23, 1907, in Culpeper to the late Lewis A. and Pearl Farmer Morris.
Mrs. Gayheart was a homemaker who worked hand in hand with her late husband, Marshall D. Gayheart Sr., with Gayheart Drug Store for over 30 years.
She was also a lifetime member of Culpeper United Methodist Church, a member of the Wesleyan Circle in church, a member of the BPW (Business and Professional Women?s Club) and the Culpeper Garden Club.
She is survived by a son, Marshall David Gayheart Jr., and his wife, Nancy, of Culpeper; three grandsons, John ?Tim? Gayheart, of Culpeper, Michael ?Andy? Gayheart, and his wife, Mary, of Culpeper, and Stephen Paul Gayheart, of Safety Harbor, Fla.; and four great-grandchildren. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Marshall D. Gayheart Sr., and two grandsons, David and Donald Gayheart.
The family received friends from 7-8 p.m. at the funeral home on Tuesday, Aug. 20, at Clore-English Funeral Home.
A graveside funeral service was held Wednesday, Aug. 21, at 11 a.m. at Fairview cemetery, with the Rev. John Crawford III officiating.

Walter Beahm
Walter Davis Beahm, 89, of College Park, Md., died March 21, 2003, at Forest Glen Nursing Facility, Silver Spring, Md., after a long illness.
Born May 31, 1913, Mr. Beahm formerly of Oak Park, was the eldest son of the late John Will and Rosie Corbin Beahm.
As a young boy, Walter worked for several farmers in Madison County. He moved to Maryland in 1938 with his wife and daughter where he worked as a heavy equipment operator, handyman and carpenter. He was employed at Walter Reed Army Hospital and ERCO of Riverdale, Md. For the last fifty years he was a self-employed tree surgeon working primarily in Prince Georges County. He was well known for his precision and ability to remove large trees in precarious locations without damage to nearby structures, lines, shrubs, etc. He often had several spectators observing to see just how he would get the job done. He was patient, proud and philosophical loving to tell stories of days gone by.
He is survived by his daughter, Ruby Jeanne Groves and son-in-law, Larry of Madison; three grandchildren, Linda Cahall of Severn, Md., Randy and his wife, Lynn, both of Shadyside, Md. and Gary and his wife, Eileen, both of Severn, Md.; six great-grandchildren, Krystal, Christopher, Alex, Randall, Tyler and Jacob; four step great-grandchildren, Stephanie, Tiffany, Nick and Destiny. He is also survived by his brothers and sisters, Milton Beahm of Hyattesville, Md., Margaret Donald of Fredericksburg, John Beahm of Madison, Sarah Jane Thomas and Charles Beahm, both of Rochelle, Mary Ellen Beahm Spicer of Fairless Hills, Pa., Claude Beahm of Mechanicsville, Md., Mabel Clore of Brightwood, Gladys Nicholson and Tommy Beahm, both of Culpeper; and a number of nieces, nephews, and friends.
In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his former wife, Ruby Jenkins Beahm; brothers, Lewis Beahm, Daniel Beahm, Clarence Beahm and Benjamin Beahm and sisters, Bertha Mae Beahm, Emma Corbin, Dorothy Beahm and Betty Ann Raynor.
The family received friends Sunday, March 23, from 7 to 9 p.m. at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel.
A funeral service was held Monday, March 24, at 2 p.m. at Found and Sons Chapel with the Rev. Charles E. Beahm officiating.
Interment followed in Fairview cemetery.

Eugene Gaines
Eugene Albright Gaines, 76, of Culpeper, died Friday, March 21, 2003 at the University of Virginia Medical Center.
Mr. Gaines was born November 8, 1926 in Reva to the late Claude B. Gaines and Mary Emily Hitt Gaines.
Mr. Gaines is survived by his wife, Evelyn Mae Gaines; two sons, Gerald M. Gaines of Fairfax and Edward C. Gaines of Maryland; two daughters, Regina D. Oliver of Tennessee and Carolyn J. Taylor of Maryland; and two step daughters, Joyce A. Miller of Maryland and Frances M. Adams of Culpeper.
Additional survivors include three brothers, Arthur B. Gaines and John K. Gaines, both of Culpeper, and Thomas R. Gaines of Maryland, and one sister, Anna J. Hall of Maryland.
He is also survived by fourteen grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren, numerous cousins, close friends and loved ones.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Gaines is preceded in death by a brother, Claude M. Gaines.
The family received friends on Monday, March 24 from 7-9 p.m. at Found & Sons Funeral Chapel.
A funeral service was held Tuesday, March 25, at 2 p.m. in the Found and Sons Chapel with the Rev. Jeff Light officiating.
Interment followed in the Novum Baptist Church cemetery.
Military honors were provided by Culpeper American Legion Post 330 and V.F.W. Post 2425.
Opal Lyles
Opal Mae Lyles, 79, of Lignum, died Sunday, Mach 23, 2003, at her residence.
She was born March 1, 1924 in Kermit, W. Va. to the late Charlie Marcum and Lola Williams Marcum.
Mrs. Lyles is survived by one daughter, Doreen Griffith of Richardsville and four sons, Charles K. Lyles of Tallahassee, Fla., Robert G. Lyles of Orlando, Fla., Ricky L. Lyles of Culpeper and Gary M. Lyles of Miami, Fla.
Additional survivors include two brothers, Raymond Marcum of Manassas and Enoch Marcum of Bealeton and four sisters, Ida Belle Lyles of Culpeper, Columbia J. Parton of Culpeper, Stella A. Ward of Henderson, W. Va. and Essie Woodward of Spotsylvania.
She is also survived by fourteen grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Kenneth Lyles Jr.; one brother, Lonnie Marcum; and one sister, Mary Garten.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, March 29, at 3 p.m. at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah Witnesses with Richard Schleuter officiating.
Found and Sons Chapel of Culpeper is in charge of the arrangements.
