Paul Rexwood Roberts, 80, of Coeburn, passed away Tuesday (Jan. 22, 2008) at the Norton Community Hospital Norton.
Funeral services were conducted at 7 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 24, in the Sturgill Funeral Home Chapel, Coeburn with Rev. Marty Puckett and Brother Les Ritchie officiating.
Military Graveside Rites will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday, by the Virginia National Guard and the Local V.F.W. Members at the Greenwood Acres cemetery in Coeburn.
The family and friends will meet at 10:30 a.m. Friday at the funeral home to go in procession to the cemetery.

Blanche Sue Salyer, 88, of Coeburn, passed away Saturday (March 22, 2008) in the Holston Valley Medical Center Kingsport, Tenn.
The family will receive friends Tuesday, March 25, from 5-7 p.m. at the Sturgill Funeral Home in Coeburn.
Funeral services will follow at 7 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Johnny Adkins officiating.
Graveside services will be conducted 1 p.m. Wednesday, March 26, at the Greenwood Acres cemetery Coeburn.
The family and friends will meet at 12:30 p.m. at the funeral home to go in procession to the cemetery.

Irene Rose Yates, 77, of Wise, passed away Saturday (March 22, 2008) at the Mountain View Regional Medical Center in Norton.
She was of the Baptist faith and was a retired employee of J-Packaging in Ohio.
Funeral services were conducted at 7 p.m. Monday, March 24, at the Sturgill Funeral Home Chapel in Wise, with Pastor Cliff Bowman and Brother Perry Brock officiating.
The family received prior to service.
Burial and graveside committal services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 25, in the Round Top cemetery.
Family and friends will meet at the cemetery.

Jeffery Dwayne Jones, 38, of Big Stone Gap, passed away Thursday (March 20, 2008) at his home.
He was a life-long resident of Big Stone Gap and a graduate of Powell Valley High School.
Family received friends Monday at Holding Funeral Home in Big Stone Gap.
Funeral services will be conducted 1 p.m. Tuesday, March 26, in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Jimmy Mitchell officiating.
Burial will follow in Powell Valley Memorial Gardens.

Sheryl May Nelson Bolling, 50, Eolia, Ky., died (March 17, 2008) at the University of Kentucky Medical Center in Lexington, Ky. after a long illness.
She was preceded in death by her father, Pierce D. Nelson, MD, paternal grandparents, Daniel H. and Ivy M. Nelson, and maternal grandparents, John J. and Rose D. Peringer.
Tri City Funeral Home in Benham, Ky. was entrusted with the arrangements.
WILLIAM (BILL) WITT JR.
William (Bill) Witt Jr., 37, of Wise, passed away Friday (March 21, 2008) at his home.
He was of the Baptist faith and was an employee of Randy Partin Construction Co.
Funeral services were conducted at 2 p.m. Monday, March 24, at the Sturgill Funeral Home Chapel in Wise, with Rev. Darrell Milgram officiating.
Burial followed in the Kiser cemetery in Nora.
Visitation was held prior to services.

The gates of Heaven opened and another Angel, Ethel Polly Riddle, 83 entered in on Saturday (May 24, 2008) at her residence in Rutledge, Tenn.
The family will receive friends 12:30 to 2 p.m. Tuesday, May 27, at the Sturgill Funeral Home, Wise.
Funeral services will follow in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Greg Cyphers officiating.
Entombment will follow in the Powell Valley Memorial Gardens Big Stone Gap.

Gene Lester Beverly, 72, passed away Tuesday (Sept. 23, 2008) at the Heritage Hall Health Care in Wise, after a courageous battle with Lou Gehrig’s Disease.
Funeral services were conducted at 7 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 25, at the Sturgill Funeral Home Chapel in Wise with Rev. Ralph McFarland officiating.
Burial and graveside committal services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday in the Wise cemetery with Military Graveside Rites being conducted by local VFW members.
Family and friends will meet at the funeral home at 10:30 a.m. Friday to go to the cemetery in procession.

Annette Marie Evans, 68, of Stonega, passed away Saturday (Jan. 19, 2008) at her sister’s house in McCalla, Ala.
Funeral services will be conducted at 7 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 24, at the Roy A. Green Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Gary Sturgill and Rev. Clayton Wiles officiating.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5 until 7 p.m. before services.
Graveside services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Friday at the Powell Valley Memorial Gardens cemetery.

William (Bill) D. Carmack, 89, Kingsport, Tenn., passed away at 6:05 p.m. Saturday (Jan. 12, 2008) at his home.
The family received friends Tuesday, Jan. 15, from 7-9 p.m. at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Homes, Kingsport.
Services were conducted Wednesday, Jan. 16, at 1 p.m. at First Broad Street United Methodist Church with Rev. Jack P. Weikel officiating.
Interment followed at Oak Hill Memorial Park.

Edna Mae Bandy Jackson, 81, of Big Stone Gap, departed this life after a long illiness on Tuesday (Jan. 15, 2008) at Lonesome Hospital in Big Stone Gap.
The family received friends at Holding Funeral Home in Big Stone Gap, Saturday, Jan. 19, 5 - 8 p.m.
Funeral Services were held at New Hope Assembly Of God, Sunday, Jan. 20, at 3 p.m.
Interment followed at Oakview cemetery.

William E. (Eddie) Lewis, Sr., 71, of Big Stone Gap, passed away Saturday (March 22, 2008) at his home.
Born in Inman on November 26, 1936, he relocated to Maryland where he lived for over 40 years before returning to Big Stone Gap.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Friday, March 28, at the Roy A. Green Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Johnny Flannary officiating.
Burial will follow in the Powell Valley Memorial Gardens cemetery.
