She was born on Caney Ridge, Coeburn.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 10, 2007 at Rachel Chapel Freewill Baptist Church with minister Rev. Wayne Keith officiating.
Burial followed in the Keith-Dotson cemetery, Caney Ridge.
Relatives and friends served as pallbearers.

Nola Layne, 95, passed away Wednesday, Feb. 7, 2007 at Dickenson Community Hospital.
Funeral services were held at noon Saturday, Feb. 10, 2007 at Mullins Funeral Home chapel with Brother Fletcher Strouth officiating.
JAMES H. SHEPPARD
James Hoyt Sheppard, 77, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, Jan. 31, 2007 at his residence on Bise Ridge.
Born in Parkersburg, W.Va., the son of the late Harry A. and Mae Nicewonder Sheppard.
Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 4, 2007 at Peuther Chapel Church with Joe Glenn Sluss, Lynn Vanover and Gene Conley officiating.
Burial followed at A.L. Bise Family cemetery with military graveside rites conducted by VFW #8979, DAV 35 and American Legion 227.
DANA V. WITT
Dana Vern 'Whicker Bill' Witt, 73, died at the University of Virginia, Charlottesville, on Monday, Jan. 29, 2007 after a brief illness.
He was born in Kentucky, the son of Elmer and Irene Dotson-Davis Witt and lived his adult life in Dickenson County where he was a self-employed truck driver.
Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 3, 2007 at Clintwood Funeral Home with minister Rev. Jeff Houck officiating.
Burial followed at the Beverly cemetery, Clintwood.
MARGARET ELLEN DOOLEY
Margaret Ellen 'Ruth' Dooley, 47, of Wise, died Sunday (Feb. 11, 2007).
The family will receive friends from 2-3 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 15, at Hagy & Fawbush Funeral Home, Norton.
A memorial service will be conducted 3 p.m. Thursday in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Freddie Powers officiating.

James Gordon 'Jim' Hall, 76, of Bristol, died, Monday (Feb. 12, 2007) at the Wellmont Hospice House.
Visitation was held Tuesday, Feb. 13, at St. Anne Catholic Church with the funeral mass following at 7 p.m. with Rev. Les Schmidt officiating.
The committal service was at 10 a.m. Wednesday in St. Anne cemetery.

Rhonda Jean Harris, 39, of Coeburn, passed away Sunday (Feb. 11, 2007) at the Mountain View Regional Medical Center Norton.
Mrs. Harris request was to be cremated.
A memorial service will be conducted 2 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 18, at the Stevens Church of God Fellowship Hall.

David Earl Markham, 74, of Coeburn, passed away Wednesday (Feb. 14, 2007).
Military graveside services and burial will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 17, at Kilgore cemetery in Coeburn.

David Earl Blankenship, 49, passed away Saturday, Aug. 18, 2007 at his home.
He was a lifelong resident of Dickenson County.
He was a former coal miner of about 30 years.
He was a loving father and friend to all that knew him.
The family will receive friends at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 22, 2007, followed by services at 1 p.m. at Mullins Funeral Home chapel with Jerry Vitatoe officiating.
He will be laid to rest at the Owens cemetery on Tara Road, Tarpon.

Phyllis Bobbitt, 75, passed away Monday, Aug. 13, 2007 at her granddaughter’s home in Lebanon.
Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Friday, Aug. 17, 2007 at Mullins Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Lester Mullins officiating.
She was laid to rest in the Phipps cemetery, Clintwood.

Larry “Fred” Davy Boyd, 28, passed away Saturday, Aug. 18, 2007 in Pike County, Ky.
Born in Tazewell County, he was a son of Larry and Zella McCoy Boyd.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 23, 2007 at Haysi Funeral Home with elders Jim Blankenship, Billie Campbell, William McClanahan and Jerry Newsome.
Burial will follow in the Boyd cemetery, Prater. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
The family will receive friends after 6 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 22 at the funeral home with a service to begin at 7 p.m.
VELVA COLEMAN
Velva Coleman, 91, passed away Wednesday, Aug. 15, 2007.
She was a lifelong resident of Clinchco but spent the last seven years with her granddaugther, Kathy Bercaw in Aurora, Ill.
She was a long-time member of Ramsey Ridge Old Regular Baptist Church.
Family and friends served as pallbearers.
The family will receive friends at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 22, 2007 followed by services at 2 p.m. at the Ramsey Ridge Church with Dallas Ramsey officiating.
She will be laid to rest in the Ramsey Ridge cemetery following services on Wednesday, Aug. 22.
OMA MULLINS
Oma Mae Tackett Mullins, passed away Aug. 1, 2007 in Fortworth, Texas.
She was born Nov. 18, 1930 in Bartlick and was the daughter of Crissie Hess and the late Spurlock Tackett.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Aug. 25, 2007 at Emmanuel Baptist Church on Big Ridge with the Rev. David O’Quinn and Carvel Edwards officiating.

Sammy Ray Stanley, 27, passed away Friday, Aug. 17, 2007.
He was a lifelong resident of Dickenson County and was a graduate of the 1997 Ervinton High School class.
Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 21, 2007 at Mullins Funeral Home chapel with Alvin Meade and Randy Moore officiating.
Burial followed at the Hill Ridge cemetery, Clintwood.
