Hattie O. Musick
Hattie Owens Foleno Musick, 94, of Mechanicsville, died Jan. 21, 2004 in a Mechanicsville nursing facility.
Born March 10, 1909 in Drill, she was a daughter of the late Elbert and Alta Harris Owens.
She was a member of the Honaker Methodist Church and had spent most of her life in this area prior to moving to Mechanicsville.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Joseph Foleno; her second husband, Lonnie Musick; one son, Rosco Foleno; one grandson, Billy Joe Foleno; and one great-grandson, William Joseph Foleno.
Survivors: daughter, Zeola Borkey of Hanover; grandsons, Keith Foleno, Rick Foleno, Barry Foleno and Robert Borkey; two great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
The funeral was conducted Jan. 23 at 1 p.m. at Grandview Memory Gardens Mausoleum Chapel in Bluefield, VA, with Rev. Burke Hess officiating.
Interment followed.

Beulah Dailey Mutter
Beulah Dailey Mutter, 95, of Tazewell, died Jan. 25, 2004 at Heritage Hall Health Care in Tazewell.
Born in Tazewell County, she was a daughter of the late Richard H. Dailey and Eunice E. Katron Dailey.
She was a member of the Maxwell United Methodist Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Wilbert Stinnett; her second husband, Robert W. Mutter; three sisters, Leola Maxwell, Lena Hall and Vivian Turner; and one brother, James F. Dailey.
Survivors: daughters, Catherine S. Wilson and husband, James C., and Helen S. Hawks, and husband, Jack, all of Tazewell; brother, Woodrow Dailey of Bristol, VA; grandchildren, John B. Hawks of Washington, DC, David W. Hawks of Tazewell, Sandra Pomrenke of Christiansburg, Lisa Altizer of Roanoke; and great-grandchildren, Joseph Pomrenke, Lindsay Pomrenke, Logan Altizer, Carly Altizer and Dakota Hawks.
Private graveside services will be conducted at Greenhills Memorial Gardens Mausoleum in Claypool Hill with the Rev. J.C. Steele and the Rev. Michael Stump officiating.

Linda F. Poore
Linda Faye Stevens Poore, 50, of Lebanon, died Jan. 23, 2004 in a Lebanon hospital.
Born in Russell County, she was a daughter of the late Joe and Pauline Fife Stevens.
She had spent most of her life in the area.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Irene Johnson and Brenda Stevens.
Survivors: sons, Christopher Wayne Stevens of Lebanon, Earnest Scott Barton of Lebanon; sisters, Mrs. Robert (Ruth) Sluder of North Carolina, Mrs. Howard (Naomi) Honaker of Honaker; and brothers, Henry Stevens of Pennsylvania, and Albert Stevens and Ira Joe Stevens, both of Honaker.
The funeral was conducted Jan. 26 at 2 p.m. in the Honaker Funeral Home Chapel at Honaker with Rev. Roy Lee Wilson officiating.
Interment followed in the Fife-Stevens cemetery at Finney.
Janice P. Price
Janice Pauline Price, 61, of Cleveland, died Jan. 19, 2004 in a Lebanon hospital.
Born in Richlands, she was a daughter of the late Charlie Robert and Dixie Lee Cook Eads.
She had spent her early life in the area, had moved to Havre de Grace, MD, and moved back to the area in 1988. She was of the Baptist faith.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sons, Robert Dwayne Price and Harold Cloyd Price; one sister, Eloise Kiser; and three brothers, Basil Eads, Roy Lee Eads and Thurman Eads.
Survivors: daughters, Karen Eller of Cleveland, Anna Almony of Delta, PA; sisters, Norma Boyd of Lebanon, Phyllis Crabtree of Cleveland; brother, J. C. Eads of Chilhowie; grandchildren Sherry Eller, Ronald Eller, Elizabeth Eller, Stephanie Price, Angela Price, Valerie Price and Brittany Almony; special godson, Lee Paugh; and very special friend, A. George Brewington.
The funeral was conducted Jan. 22 at 2 p.m. in the Honaker Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Leslie Ritchie officiating.
Interment followed in Ketron Memorial Gardens at Lebanon.
Douglas K. Redmond
Douglas Keith Redmond, 27, of Richlands, died Jan. 23, 2004 in North Carolina following a battle with cancer.
He was the son of Harold "Skip" Redmond of Dryden and Rose Redmond of Abingdon.
He was a 1994 graduate of Richlands High School.
He joined the Marine Corp for eight years immediately after high school.
Survivors: brothers, Harold "Little Skip" Dye of Abingdon, Jonathan Redmond of New York; sons, Joshua Redmond of Cedar Bluff, Douglas Jr. of North Carolina; maternal grandmother, Jean Dye McDonald of Doran; three special nieces; and special friends, Justin Barber and Monroe Pruitt Jr.
National Cremation Service, North Carolina, is handling the arrangements.
A memorial service will be conducted between 6-9 p.m. Jan. 30 at the Belfast Church of Christ.
As requested by Doug his body was cremated.
William "Bill" Robinette
William "Bill" Joseph Robinette, 72, of Council, died Jan. 21, 2004 in a Richlands hospital.
Born March 12, 1931 in Pocahontas, he was a son of the late Jhile Jackson and Dove Parker Robinette.
He was a member of the Swords Creek Community Baptist Church. He lived in the Council area for the past 40 years and was a retired coal miner having worked for Clinchfield Coal Company.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Jean Taylor; one half-brother, Monty Thompson; and two stepbrothers, Robert Robinette and Joey Thompson.
Survivors: wife, of 52 years, Betty Robinette; daughters, Deborah D. Robinette of Manassas, Donna Presley and husband, Terry, of Council; son, William Lacy Robinette and wife, Deboria, of Council; sister, Alice George of Indiana; stepbrother, Jack Thompson of Staunton; and grandchildren, Caprina Johnson, Billy Earl Presley and Morgian Presley.
The funeral was conducted Jan. 24 at 2 p.m. in the Honaker Funeral Home Chapel at Honaker with Bro. Les Ritchie officiating.
Entombment followed in Ketron Memorial Gardens Mausoleum at Lebanon.
Margaret Evelyn Smith
Margaret Evelyn Shreve Smith, 92, of Claypool Hill, died Jan. 23, 2004 at her home following a long illness.
She was the daughter of the late Robert and Ellen Shreve.
She was a homemaker and a loving mother. She was a member of the Methodist Church in her youth and later was of the Primitive Baptist faith.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Bascom Smith; one son, Harold Bascom Smith; eight brothers, Pearl, Jay, Sid, Walter, Robert, Reece, John and Aut Shreve; and two sisters, Mae Pack and Mrs. Ermel (Lilia) Couch.
Survivors: daughters, Betty Whitt and husband, Robert, of Rosedale, Ginger Dale and husband, Philip, and Shirley Lester and husband, Bob, all of Pounding Mill; sister, Mrs. Clayton (Herma) Brown of Grundy; grandchildren, Ricky Bishop of Atlanta, GA, Todd Dale and wife, Valerie, of Eagleville, PA, Jessica Lester of Pounding Mill; great-grandchildren, Maggie Dale, Lauren Dale and Ashleigh Bishop; step-grandchildren, Kathy Moore and Joe Whitt; step great-grandchildren, Alexandria Pirello, Kayla Biggs, Joshua Moore, Joseph Whitt, Brandon Whitt and Camron Whitt; several nieces and nephews; special care nurse, Paula Slate; aide, Emil Rice; and special helpers, Robert Whitt, Philip Dale and Bob Lester.
The funeral was conducted Jan. 27 at 2 p.m. at the Singleton Funeral Service Chapel in Cedar Bluff with Elders Ronnie Beavers, Willard Owens and Craig Johnson officiating.
Burial followed in the Greenhills Memory Gardens at Claypool Hill.
Rev. Clyde Stanford
Rev. Clyde Stanford, 63, of Winchester, formerly of Lebanon, died Jan. 21, 2004 at his home.
Born in Buchanan County, he was a son of the late Dewey and Lovada Edwards Stanford.
He had lived his early life in the Buchanan County area, moving to Lebanon in 1984 and then to Winchester in 2003. He was an United States Army veteran, having served in the Korean and Vietnam Conflicts. He received the Silver Star, Purple Heart, and several other awards.
He was a member of the East Lebanon Free Will Baptist Church and a distinguished member of the VFW Post 9864 of Lebanon until 2003. He was a disabled coal miner having worked for Jewell Smokeless Coal Company.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister and three brothers.
Survivors: wife of 37 years, Phyllis Stanford; daughters, Tammy Stanford Moise and husband, Lawrence, of Staunton, Tina Nace and husband, Matthew, of Charles Town, WV, Teresa Stanford of Winchester; sons, Brian Stanford and Mark Stanford, both of Winchester, Steven Stanford and wife, Kristy of Lebanon; sisters, Alma Mae Edwards of Whitewood, Dorothy Rife of Louisia, Ruth Harlow of Perry, GA, Sue McBurnett of Asheville, AL; brothers, Raymond Stanford of Chicago, IL, Chester Stanford of Welch, WV; and 11 grandchildren.
The funeral was conducted Jan. 24 at 11 a.m. in the Honaker Funeral Home Chapel in Honaker with Rev. Larry Robinson, Rev. Lester Horton and Rev. Roger Mullins officiating.
Interment followed in Ketron Memorial Gardens at Lebanon.
Military graveside honors were conducted by Highlands Fellowship Veterans Honor Guard of Abingdon.
Clarence Stiltner, Jr.
Clarence Stiltner, Jr., 80, of Cedar Bluff, died Jan. 25, 2004 in Richlands following a lengthy illness.
He was the son of the late Clarence and Linda Robinson Stiltner.
He was a member of Belfast Church of Christ. He was an evangelist preaching at a number of churches over the years. He was a member of the V.F. W. Post 9640. He was a retired employee for S & S Machinery and Ingersoll Rand for 28 years where he worked in Quality Control and Mining Machinery.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Loraine Compton; one brother, Bordas Mason Stiltner; and one son, Richard Stiltner.
Survivors: wife, Edna Lois Ratliff Stiltner; sons, Steve Stiltner and wife, Lettie, of Pounding Mill, Joe Stiltner and wife, Tammy, of Paint Lick; daughters, Shelia Stiltner of Lebanon, Dorothy Stiltner of Cedar Bluff, Janie Rush and husband, Mike, of Waynesburg, PA; sisters, Catherine Compton of Dublin, Virginia Shelton of Columbus, OH, Irene Justus of Detroit, MI; grandson, Trevor Rush; and granddaughters, Lisa, Becky, Denise and Cindy.
The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Jan. 28 at Singleton Funeral Service Chapel in Cedar Bluff with Rev. Dewey Mooney and Claude Bunn officiating.
Burial will follow in the Greenhills Memory Gardens at Claypool Hill.
Orin K. Tabor
Orin Kenneth Tabor, 84, of Bluefield, VA, died Jan. 22, 2004 at Bluefield Regional Medical Center.
Born in Tazewell County, he was a son of the late Luther Tabor and Pearl Reynolds Tabor.
He was retired from the Norfolk & Western Railroad after 40 years of services and had served in the U.S. Army during WWII.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by five sisters, Katie Baldwin, Margaret Husky, Nell Mullins, Zelma Tabor and Ida Tabor, and two brothers, Chester "Bud" Tabor and Joseph Tabor.
Survivors: nephews, Steve Dilts and wife, Gloria, of Rocky Gap, Phillip Diltz and wife, Sherrie-Browns, of Summit, NC, David Dilts and wife, Jean, of Titusville, FL, and Frank Gillespie and wife, Connie, of Springhill, FL.
Memorial services were conducted Jan. 26 at 2 p.m. at the Dudley Memorial Chapel in Bluefield, VA, with the Rev. Charles Addington officiating.
Burial followed in the Maple Hill cemetery.
