Colton Thomas Lindamood
EDINBURG - Colton Thomas Lindamood, 15, died Saturday, May 3, 2008, in Winchester.
Colton was born Oct. 1, 1992, in Winchester, son of Thomas M. Lindamood and Cathy M. McClanahan Lindamood. He was a student at Central High School and a member of the FFA. He attended St. John’s Untied Church of Christ.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by a brother, Tyler Lindamood.
Pastor David Roe will conduct the funeral service at 6 p.m. Wednesday, May 7, at the Central High School Gymnasium in Woodstock. Burial will be private.

Frances L. Gochenour McDaniel
SEBRING, FLA. - Frances L. Gochenour McDaniel, 88, also of Woodstock, met with God’s angels and her soul was carried to meet the Lord on Feb. 11, 2008.
Mrs. McDaniel was born in Harrisonburg, daughter of the late Emanual and Mary Elizabeth Frye Shank.
She was preceded in death by husband, Landon Lee Gochenour; daughter and son-in-law, Donna and Jim Haldeman; sisters, Esther Showalter and Dorothy Kiser; and brothers, Arville and Alvin Shank.
At the time of her death, Frances was the loving wife to Arthur W. McDaniel; mother of Sue (David) Cassel of Center Valley, Pa., Harold (Deanna) Gochenour of Defuniak Springs, Fla., William (Diane) Gochenour of Glendora, Calif., Denise (Larry) Parrillo, Northridge, Calif., and her stepchildren, David (Heather) McDaniel of Maine, and Susan (Robert) Tkachick of Delaware; sister to Reba Poff, Pauline Painter, and Kathleen Spitzer, all of Virginia; grandmother of 16 and great-grandmother of 40.
Frances loved her God and enjoyed singing for him and praising him every moment of her life. She was a past faithful member of Antioch, Lorida, and Sebring Churches of the Brethren.
Frances’ ashes will be interred at graveside May 25 at 3 p.m. at Sunset View Memorial Gardens, Woodstock, with the Rev. George Bowers, Antioch Church of the Brethren, conducting the service. Family and friends are welcome to join in praising the Lord for giving us 88 years of Frances’ life here on earth. In case of severe inclement weather, the service will be held at the Antioch Church of the Brethren, 23502 Senado Road, Woodstock.
Charles Russell 'Russ' Miller
BOYCE - Charles Russell “Russ” Miller, 86, died Monday, April 28, 2008, at Warren Memorial Hospital.
Mr. Miller was born Nov. 14, 1921, in Toms Brook, son of the late John H. and Helena “Nellie” Turbersville Miller. He was an Army veteran of World War II during in the Battle of the Bulge and served in Korea. He and his wife owned and operated the Lone Oak Restaurant at Waterloo for 30 years. He was a member of St. Peter Lutheran Church in Toms Brook.
Surviving is his wife, Thelma White Miller.
A graveside service was conducted Friday, May 2, at Toms Brook cemetery by Pastor C. Keith Warren, with military honors by Shenandoah American Legion Post 77 of Strasburg.

Ferman L. Riffey
EAST EARL, PA. - Ferman L. Riffey, 81, formerly of Woodstock, died Saturday, April 26, 2008.
Surviving are his wife, Gladys C. Barb Riffey; son, Michael Riffey of Atlanta; daughter, Lori Ann Markus Kesner of Winchester; two sisters, Lelia Marie Robinson and Violena Replogle; two brothers, Charles D. Riffey Jr. and Darrell J. Riffey; and eight grandchildren.
A graveside service was conducted Sunday, May 4, at Columbia Furnace Church of the Brethren cemetery.

Edith Irene Smallwood
WINCHESTER - Edith Irene Smallwood, 79, formerly of White Post, died Friday, May 2, 2008, at a local nursing home.
Mrs. Smallwood was born March 26, 1929, in Timberville, daughter of the late Noah and Nettie Frye Ryman. She retired as a nurse’s aide from Winchester Medical Center. She was a member of Greenwood United Methodist Church, Winchester, and was the wife of the late Ivan Elwood Smallwood.
Surviving are a son, Gary A. Smallwood of Stephens City; brother, Noah Junior Ryman of Roxboro, N.C.; three sisters, Hazel Carper of Winchester, Elizabeth Murphy and Virginia Lloyd, both of Mount Jackson.
The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 7, at Enders and Shirley Funeral Home, Berryville, with the Rev. Jerry Weigel officiating. Burial will be in Providence Chapel United Methodist Church cemetery in Clarke County.
Pallbearers will be Christopher Ryman, Jamie Ryman, Wayne Murphy, Brian Murphy and Carl E. Day III.

Audrey G. Taylor
FRONT ROYAL - Audrey G. Taylor of Front Royal, 52, died Monday, April 28, 2008, at Blue Ridge Hospice in Winchester.
Mrs. Taylor was born Dec. 25, 1955 in Arlington, daughter of the late Reginald T. Lathon and Mary Ann Wiggins. Before her illness, for 26 years, she was employed by Sensational Family Hair Cutters, Tu Tu’s Hair and Nail Salon and Debbie’s Hair and Nails.
A hard worker, her career was her passion in which she was loyal to each client and making sure they left with a smile. She enjoyed gardening, spending time with her family and playing with her grandsons.
Audrey will be remembered as a comedian as some say, and a strong hearted woman. Her nicknames were “Mickey” and “Baby Girl.”
During her stay at Hospice, Audrey made many friends who catered to her “sweet tooth” especially ice cream. She and her husband celebrated their 36th wedding anniversary on April 8.
Surviving are her husband, Christopher P. Taylor; two daughters April D. Clatterbuck and husband Warren, Leslie J. Taylor and fiancé Aron M. Robinson, all from Front Royal; four brothers, William F. Lathon, Reginald T. Lathon Jr., James L. Lathon, all of Virginia, and Karl D. Lathon of Georgia; two sisters, Christine A. Weatherholtz and Judy “Suzette” Hefner, both from North Carolina; two grandsons, Nathan H. Clatterbuck and Cohen G. Clatterbuck of Front Royal; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, stepfather J.W. Wiggins, and nephew Tyree “Ty” Lathon.
A funeral service was conducted Friday, May 2, at Turner-Robertshaw Funeral Home, Front Royal, by Major Calvin W. Clatterbuck. Graveside services were held at the Panorama Memorial Gardens, Strasburg.

Audrey Jane Corbin
WHITE POST - Audrey Jane Corbin, 78, died Friday, April 11, 2008, in Winchester Medical Center.
Mrs. Corbin was born in 1930 in Clarke County, daughter of the late Curtis and Ester Robinson. She was a homemaker and self-employed for 60 years. She attended White Post United Methodist Church. She married
William Edward Corbin on Sept. 28, 1946, in Winchester; he died in 1981.
Surviving are two daughters, Barbara Clatterbuck of Kearneysville, W.Va., and Carolyn Tharpe of Front Royal; son, Edward “Bodie” Corbin of White Post; five sisters, Ella Lee Cooke, Mary Jean Welch, and Nancy Oats, all of Frederick County, Anna Katherine Wymer of Strasburg and Betty Shifflett of Stephenson; six brothers, Donald Robinson of Martinsburg, W.Va., Jack Robinson of Clear Brook, Johnny Robinson of Brucetown, Curtis Robinson Jr., Douglas Robinson, and Larry Robinson, all of Frederick County; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Bonnie Robinson; and two brothers, Jimmy Robinson and Pat Robinson.
A graveside service was conducted Monday, April 14, at Omps Funeral Home, Winchester, by the Rev. J. Adam Sowder. Burial was in Shenandoah Memorial Park.

Dorman Hensley
Dorman Harold Hensley, 65, of Harrisonburg, died Friday, June 27, 2008, at his home.
Mr. Hensley was born April 24, 1943, in McGaheysville, and was the son of Eula Eppard Hensley of Harrisonb urg and the late Harold Stephen Hensley.
He graduated from Montevideo High School and retired from Shickle Machine Shop, where he was a machinist. He was a member of the National Rifle Association and the AARP.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by a number of nieces and nephews.
Pastors Wayne Wright and Gerald Meeks will conduct the funeral 2 p.m. Monday at the Kyger Funeral Home in Harrisonburg. Burial will follow at Mount Olivet cemetery in McGaheysville.
Mabel Armentrout
Mabel Clara Long Armentrout, 84, a resident at Harrisonburg Health & Rehabilitation Center for the past five years, and formerly of Keezletown, died Wednesday, June 18, 2008, at the Health Center. She had been in declining health for several years.
Mrs. Armentrout was born Dec. 30, 1923, in the Gravels area of Rockingham County, and was the daughter of the late Bernie Duke and Esther Lee Boyers Long. Mrs. Armentrout grew up in the Gravels area and was a graduate of Linville-Edom High School, where she was a member of the basketball team. She lived in Keezletown for 50 years and was a member of the Keezletown United Methodist Church, where she taught Sunday School for many years. She enjoyed sewing and making crafts and won many Blue Ribbons for her work at the Rockingham County Fair. She retired from Continental Telephone Co. in 1982.
On June 27, 1942, she married
Oliver Dewey Armentrout Jr., who died on Sept. 1, 1992. Mrs. Armentrout is survived by a son, Donald L. "Jack" Armentrout and wife, Ellen (Frank), Warrenton, Va.; sisters, Margaret Hedrick and Carolyn Piner, both of Keezletown; grandchildren, Jan Ellis and husband, Dave, Alva, Okla., Kevin Armentrout and wife, Patricia, Lorton, Va.; great-grandson, David Lee Ellis II; and numerous nieces and nephews. Besides her parents and husband, Mrs. Armentrout was preceded in death by siblings, Letha Townsend, Mary Boyers, A. Frank Long Sr., Ruth Raynes, Rosa Jones, John Harvey Long, William Henry Long, Avis Pirkey, Carl Edward Long, and a great-granddaughter, Carrollen Jan "Carlie" Ellis.
Funeral services will be held 3 p.m. Sunday, June 22, 2008, at the Keezletown United Methodist Church. The Rev. Dawn-Marie Singleton will conduct the service. Burial will follow in the Keezletown cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 2 to 3 p.m. Sunday at the church.

H. Everett Dinges
WOODSTOCK - H. Everett Dinges, 78, died Sunday, April 13, 2008, at Royal Haven in Woodstock.
Mr. Dinges was born Oct. 9, 1929, in Fort Valley, son of the late Harry J. and Leona Golliday Dinges. He was a Marine Corps veteran of the Korean Conflict. He was a former huckster, retired from Fox Croft School in Middleburg and was employed by Wal-Mart in Woodstock. He was a member of Trinity Brethren Church, member and past commander of Woodstock American Legion Post 199.
Surviving are a son, Dwight Dinges of Fort Valley; two daughters, Sandy Burner of Fort Valley and Tammy Craig of Quicksburg; his companion, Betty Yew; a stepson, Gary Yew of Woodstock; a stepdaughter, Karen Thorpe of Woodstock; three grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; a great-grandson; and four step great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 16, at Dellinger Funeral Home, Woodstock, with the Revs. Sherry Waddell and William Garber officiating. Burial, with military honors by the Marine Corps, will be in Emerson Walters cemetery, Fort Valley.
Pallbearers will be Richard Chrisman, Tom Hunsberger, Rodney Clark, Ricky Saffell, Donnie Coffman and David Chrisman.
Woodstock American Legion, SAL of Post 199 and Edinburg High School Class of 1949 will attend as a group.

Lewis Boucher
Lewis "Petey" Pierre Boucher, 29, of Shenandoah, died Tuesday, July 1, 2008, at the University of Virginia Medical Center in Charlottesville from injuries sustained from an accident in Woodstock, Va.
Petey was born Nov. 2, 1978, in Baltimore, Md.
On July 8, 2006, he married
Crystal Lynn Hensley, who survives; besides his wife he is also survived by two godchildren, Ellie Nicole and Abby Leigh Dovel; parents, Lewis P. Sr. and Maggie Palange Boucher of Baltimore, Md.; two brothers, Pete Dwojewski, Donald Dwojewski Jr., both of Baltimore, Md.; one sister, Nicole Dwojewski of Baltimore, Md.; grandmother, Mary W. Boucher of Ruckersville; two uncles, Joe Boucher and Doug Boucher, both of Ruckersville; five nieces and six nephews.
Petey attended high school in Baltimore, Md., and continued his education in the Job Corps. He worked in construction most of his life and recently was employed by Lantz Construction in Harrisonburg.
A funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Saturday afternoon at the Kyger Funeral Home Chapel in Elkton with Pastor Jimmy Kite officiating. Burial will follow in the Elk Run cemetery in Elkton.
The family will receive friends Friday evening from 7 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home in Elkton. Friends may also call at the Boucher home at anytime.
The family will be holding Petey's traditional Fourth of July party on Friday night after the viewing in Petey's honor. It was his favorite holiday.
Albert N. Keim
Albert N. Keim, retired history professor at EMU, departed this life on June 27 at U.Va. Medical Center of complications following a liver transplant.
He is survived by his wife, Kathy Fisher. Also surviving are a daughter, Melody Keim, and two grandsons, Jeremy Keim-Shenk and Jonathan Keim-Shenk of Lancaster, Pa.
His parents, Noah and Sarah Miller Keim, as well as a sister, Savilla Keim, are deceased. Also deceased is his wife of 38 years, Leanna Yoder Keim, who died in 1998.
Seven siblings who survive include Melvin Keim of Fort Defiance, Va., Edna Beiler of Mogadore, Ohio, Simon Keim of Clarksville, Va., John Keim of Harrisonburg, Leroy Keim of Salem, Ohio, Esther Keim of Aroda, Va., and Martha Proffitt of Ruckersville, Va.
His education included a BA in History from EMU in 1963, a Masters Degree from U.Va. in 1965 and a Ph.D. in History from Ohio State University. He taught history at EMU for 35 years and served as academic dean from 1977-1984, retiring in 2000. Al and Kathy were married
in 2000 and during their first year of marriage lived in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, where Kathy had taught for many years.
Al served in Europe as an MCC Pax volunteer in post-war relief efforts from 1956-1958. This experience expanded his world profoundly and resulted in travel to Europe, Asia and a much-anticipated trip to China in 2006.
He was the author of many articles and several books including Harold S. Bender, already considered a classic, and The CPS Story. He is one of only two authors to have two books listed in "The Essential Anabaptist-Mennonite History Reading List."
He made a major contribution to the creation of the Valley Brethren Mennonite Heritage Center in every phase of its renovation and construction, serving as the first director in 2001-2002, and was a board member from 2000 to the present.
Al's interests ranged across the human spectrum-love of family, education, farming (he raised steers and collected small tractors as a hobby), travel, and service. A voracious reader, he was philosophical about the human saga, summarized in his autobiography, "In Search of a Worldview: What did I know and when did I know it?"
The family will receive visitors on Monday, June 30, at Park View Mennonite Church from 6 to 8 p.m.
A memorial service will be held at Park View Mennonite Church on Tuesday, July 1, at 10 a.m. with burial following.
