Thomas Racey, Jr.
SPRINGFIELD - Thomas Racey, Jr., passed away on Saturday, May 9, 2009.
He is survived by his wife Delia Racey; his mother Barbara Racey; four brother’s Michael, Jeffrey, Gregory, and Richard Racey; and many loving nieces, nephews and dear friends. He was predeceased by his father, the late Thomas Racey Sr.
A funeral service to celebrate Thomas' life will be held at the Stover Funeral Home on Friday, May 15, at 11 a.m. Interment will follow at the Lebanon Church cemetery near Strasburg.
Pallbearers will be David Downard, John Ford, Michael A. Racey, Jeffery S. Racey, Gregory S. Racey, Richard A. Racey.
Anna D. Stahl
Anna Doreen Stahl, 80, of Barboursville, passed away Sunday, Oct. 2, 2011, with her daughters by her side. She peacefully went home to be with the Lord.
She was a beloved mom, grandma and great- grandma and friend to all.
She had a generous heart and was a member of the American Legion, the Literacy Council, and Pleasant Grove Baptist Church. She liked to volunteer her time at the Legion, Literacy Council as well as at the church. She spent her spare time knitting toasty toes and sewing cool ties for the troops overseas. She had knitted over 400 pairs of the booties as of last count.
She was a lifelong Washington Redskins fan and New York Yankees fan. She loved cooking, reading, sewing, and enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.
She is survived by her two daughters, Janice Kerns and her husband, Owen Kerns, of Barboursville, and Rachel Lantz and her husband, Chris Lantz, of Harrisonburg; as well as six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. She loved being with her family and friends.
A memorial service and celebration of her life will be held at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 12, 2011, at Rapidan Baptist Church in Madison, Va.

Charles Jacob 'Jackie' Reynard Sr.
WOODSTOCK - Charles Jacob “Jackie” Reynard Sr., 65, passed away on Saturday, May 9, 2009, at his home in Woodstock.
Mr. Reynard was born on Jan. 14, 1944, in Shenandoah County, and was a son of the late William and Elaine Scott Reynard. He was a member of the Valley Pike Church of the Brethren in Maurertown. He worked for Aileen and retired from Perry Engineering. He was loved by all. He was a very caring and loving man. He will be greatly missed.
He is survived by his son, Charles “Charlie” Jacob Reynard, II and his fiance, Tabatha Fadeley; three step-grandchildren, Tiffany, Cheynne and Bruce Coffelt, all of Star Tannery; two brothers, Joe Reynard of Woodstock, Melvin Reynard of Harrisonburg; five sisters, Patty Ann Nicely of Woodstock, Elizabeth Alger of Woodstock, Nancy Cook of Woodstock, Beverly Funkhouser of Fishers Hill, and Fanny Thompson of Woodstock.
He was preceded in death by William W. Reynard and Virginia “Diane” Robinson.
A funeral service was be held on Wednesday, May 13, at the Dellinger Funeral Home in Woodstock by the Rev. William H. Garber. Burial was in the Valley Pike Church cemetery.

Kenneth Rex Stickley, Sr.
STRASBURG - Kenneth Rex Stickley, Sr., 70, passed away on Saturday, May 9, 2009, at his home in Strasburg.
Mr. Stickley was born on Feb. 26, 1939, in Strasburg, and was a son of the late Coulter Hansell and Willie Carlotta Smith Stickley. He was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, the National Rifle Association, Strasburg Moose Lodge No. 403 and the Legion of the Moose. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and loved the outdoors and was loved by all. He retired from Safeway with 35 years of service.
He is survived by his wife, Charlotte Mae Smith Stickley; his children, Kenneth Rex Stickley, Jr. of Casco, Maine, Melinda Stickley of Strasburg, Pamela Stickley of Winchester, Dorie Stickley of Strasburg, Daniel Kidd of Front Royal and Ronald Kidd of Wrightsville, Pa.; his brother, Ronald C. Stickley of Strasburg; sixteen grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
A funeral service was conducted on Tuesday, May 12, at the Stover Funeral Home in Strasburg with the Rev. Richard J. Goeres officiating. Burial was in the Riverview cemetery in Strasburg.

Virginia Evelyn Stickley
STRASBURG - Virginia Evelyn Stickley, 80, passed away on Wednesday, May 6, 2009, at the Shenandoah Memorial Hospital in Woodstock.
Mrs. Stickley was born on April 1, 1929, in Old Town, Md., and was a daughter of the late Richard Roy and Martine Robinette Twigg. She was a homemaker and wife of the late Clifton C. Stickley.
She is survived by a daughter Debbie Martine Hines of Strasburg, a grandchild and a great-grandchild.
A graveside service was conducted on Friday, May 8, at the Riverview cemetery in Strasburg by the Rev. William D. Doman Jr.
Funeral arrangements were handled by the Valley Funeral Service in Edinburg.
Brian S. Allard
FISHERS HILL - Brian S. Allard, 57, passed away on Saturday, March 7, at the Consulate Health Care in Woodstock.
Mr. Allard was born on June 26, 1951, in Washington D.C. and was a son of Mildred Elaine Hipsley and the late James Gilbert Allard. He was a graduate of Oxon Hill High School in Oxon Hill, Md. He then graduated from Dental Tech school and later became a Master Jeweler and partnered in Glen Jewelers in Sarasota, Fla., and later owned and operated B' Holders Jewelry and Repair in Strasburg, and later at Fishers Hill.
He is survived by his mother, Mildred H. Allard of Church Creek, Md.; a brother, Gary P. Allard of Fishers Hill; two nephews, Jesse P. Allard and Travis J. Allard.
A funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Friday, March 13, at the Stover Memorial Chapel with the Rev. William Erbach, Sr. officiating. Burial will follow at the Fishers Hill cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Marvin Pedigo, Jason Stilson, Bill Watson, Joe Irby, Jose' Ortiz, and Steve Gochenour.

EDINBURG - Mary Ellen Coffelt, 68, passed away on Saturday, March 7.
Mrs. Coffelt was born on Jan. 23, 1941 in Tenmetal, Ga., and was a daughter of the late John P. and Annie Lindsey Moon. She was a homemaker and member of Waterbrook Church of the Brethren. She was the wife of the late Edward A. Coffelt.
She is survived by four daughters; Paula Whitmer of Woodstock, Patti Bornheiner of Berkley Springs W.Va., Penny Fraley of Basye and Peggy Ryman of Edinburg; three sons, John Wren and David Wren both of Edinburg, and Edward A. Coffelt Jr. of Toms Brook; four sisters, Nita Fegin and Jean Houston both of Dublin, Ga., Lillian Stuckey of Ritz, Ga., and Willa Ricker of Calif.; a brother Ray Moon Sr. of Dublin; eleven grandchildren, four great- grandchildren, six step grandchildren; and five step great-grandchildren.
A funeral service was conducted on Tuesday, March 10, at the Liberty Brethren Church in Quicksburg by Pastor Freddie Helsley. Burial was private.

Patricia Ramsay Pryor
WOODSTOCK - Patricia Ramsay Pryor, 64, passed away on Saturday, March 7, at the Winchester Medical Center.
Mrs. Pryor was born on July 15, 1944, in Washington, D.C., and was a daughter of the late William and Marie Alexander Ramsay. She was a member of Woodstock Christian Church.
She is survived by her husband, Dr. Paul C. Pryor; three daughters, Denise Owens of N.C., Deanna French and Monica Fratinado both of Michigan City, Ind.; a sister, Dale Bell of Gainesville; two brothers, William Ramsay of Leesburg and Greg Ramsay of Purcellville; seven grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter.
A memorial service will be conducted on at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 21, at the Woodstock Christian Church by the Rev. Warren Brubaker.

Dr. Luis A. Reyes
CLEARWATER - Dr. Luis A. Reyes passed away on Wednesday, March 4.
Dr. Reyes was born on Nov. 10, 1927, in Bayamo, Cuba. He graduated from medical school and came to the United States for the residency program at the Cleveland Clinic in Ohio. In 1961, he started private practice in Woodstock as a family doctor caring for patients from birth to death with day and evening house calls. He and his family moved to Clearwater in 1971 where he practiced medicine and touched the lives and health of many until retiring in 2004.
He is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Lillian Barroso Reyes, three daughters; Lillian and Bob Joyce; Marilyn and Norm Burrows; Connie and Mike Matranga; eleven grandchildren; one brother and numerous nieces and nephews.

MOUNT JACKSON - Grace Julia Shirley, 76, passed away on Sunday, March 8, at the Life Care Center in New Market.
Mrs. Shirley was born on May 10,1932, in Norfolk, and was a daughter of the late Everette Franklin Sr. and Eleanor Doxey. She liked to sew, knit and travel all over the U.S. Most of all, she loved her family.
She is survived by her husband of 58 years Harry R. Shirley Jr. four sons, Donald and wife Joyce of Mount Jackson, Ricky and wife Sandi of Athol, Idaho, Jack and wife Carolyn of South Mills, N.C., Raymond and wife Martha of Tucson, Ariz.; sister Shirley Schnoor of Md., seven grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by a brother, Everette Franklin Jr.
A memorial service will be conducted at 12 p.m. Saturday, March 14, at the Liberty Brethren Church in Quicksburg by Pastor Freddie Helsley. Burial will be private.

Kathleen Dean Hottle Sweeney
MAURERTOWN - Kathleen Dean Hottle Sweeney, 94, passed away on Tuesday, March 3, at the Shenandoah Memorial Hospital in Woodstock.
Mrs. Sweeney was born on Aug. 21, 1914, in Shenandoah County, and was a daughter of the late William and Kate Dean Hottle. She was a member of St. John's United Church of Christ and was married
to the late Emmitt Everet Sweeney.
She is survived by her son, Lynn William Sweeney of Abingdon, Md.; daughter, Glenda Eileen Sweeney of Arlington; two granddaughters, Jalyn Sweeney Tiffany of Chicago, Ill. and Shannon Sweeney Ritter of Del. and one great granddaughter, Isabella Paige Ritter.
A funeral service was held on Saturday, March 7, at the St. John's United Church of Christ at Harrisville. Pastor Joe Fleming officiated. Burial was in the church cemetery.

Rennie Harrison
Rennie Keezell Harrison, formerly of Harrisonburg, died May 1, 2008, in Richmond, Va., where she had lived for the past seven years.
She was born in Keezletown, Va., on May 14, 1924, and was the daughter of Captain Rembrandt Peale Keezell and Meta Echard Keezell.
She graduated from Keezletown High School in 1941 and from the College of William & Mary in Virginia in 1945. From 1945 to 1950, she was a social worker in the City of Alexandria, Va., Department of Public Welfare. From 1950 to 1954, she worked in the same capacity for the City of Staunton, Va., Department of Public Welfare.
After raising her family, she embarked on a career in banking with Rockingham National Bank (now Wachovia) in 1970 before retiring in 1984 as Assistant Vice President and Branch Manager.
She married
William Robert Harrison Sr. on Aug. 2, 1952, who predeceased her on March 3, 2000.
She is survived by her sister, Narice Keezell Bowman of Richmond; her foster sister, Helen Showalter of Harrisonburg; two sons, William Robert Harrison Jr. of Arlington, Va., and George Franklin Harrison of Midlothian, Va.; and two beloved grandchildren, Samuel Z. Harrison and Ella P. Harrison, also of Midlothian, Va.
A graveside service will be held on Monday, May 5, 2008, at 11 a.m. at the Keezletown cemetery with the Rev. William Painter officiating.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, May 4, 2008, from 7 to 8 p.m. at the Kyger Funeral Home, 3173 Spotswood Trail, Harrisonburg, VA 22801.
