Audrey Louise Tucker Decker
TOMS BROOK - Audrey Louise Tucker Decker, 63, died on Friday, Nov. 5, 2010, at Blue Ridge Residential Center, Winchester.
She was born on Nov. 22, 1946, in Beaver, W.Va., and was a daughter of the late Harrison Jackson and Opel Mae Redden Tucker.
Mrs. Decker was a member of St. Peter Lutheran Church, had been employed as manager at Quickstop Store in Winchester for 16 years, at Kohl's Distribution Center in Front Royal for 12 years and for Shenandoah County School System.
She is survived by her husband, Arthur Charles Decker; two sons, Johnny J. Phelps of Hughesville, Md., and Glenn M. Phelps of Owings, Md.; a daughter, Sarah R. Decker of Toms Brook; a brother, Roy Redden of Cleveland, Ohio; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
A funeral service will be conducted on Friday, Nov. 12, at 11 a.m., at St. Peter Lutheran Church, Toms Brook with the Rev. James Baseler and the Rev. Dianna Horton officiating. Burial will be in Toms Brook cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Jeffrey Phelps, Proctor Phelps, Johnny Phelps, Christopher Bruce, Phil Fauber and Richard Hockman.

Phyllis Lorraine Funkhouser Dellinger
NEW MARKET - Phyllis Lorraine Funkhouser Dellinger, 82, formerly of Basye, died on Friday, Nov. 5, 2010, at Rockingham Memorial Hospital, Harrisonburg.
She was born on March 19, 1928, in Basye, and was a daughter of the late Nevin Charles and Gladys Estelle Moomaw Funkhouser.
Mrs. Dellinger was a member of Trinity United Church of Christ in Basye. She spent many years boiling apple butter, making pecan pies, and teaching Sunday School to the little ones. She was a former post mistress at Basye.
On June 16, 1946, she married
Mervin Stanley Dellinger, who died on May 10, 2003.
She is survived by a daughter, Susan E. Zirkle of Mount Jackson; two brothers Robert E. Funkhouser of Mount Jackson, and Frank K. Funkhouser of Woodstock; six grandchildren; and seven great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, Stephen M. “Doc” Dellinger.
A funeral service was conducted on Tuesday, Nov. 9, at the Dellinger Funeral Home in Mount Jackson with the Rev. John H. Ware officiating. Burial was in Trinity Church cemetery.

Ruth McKee Dicks
NEW MARKET - Ruth McKee Dicks, 95, formerly of Winchester, died on Wednesday, Nov.3, 2010, in New Market.
She was born on July 20, 1915, in Winchester, and was a daughter of the late Roy W. and Edith O'Roark McKee.
Mrs. Dicks was a member of Highland Memorial Presbyterian Church. She was a production worker for Virginia Woolen Mill, Dickey Woolen Mill and Schoeneman Inc.
On Oct. 26, 1940, she married
the late John Lawrence Dicks.
She is survived by four sisters, Josephine Willey, Hilda Virginia Johnson, Peggy Ann Beeler, and Barbara Cain, all of Winchester; two brothers, Lester McKee, and Denny McKee, both of Winchester. She was preceded in death by three sisters, Frances Anderson, Ditty Bayliss, and Winnie Oates; five brothers, Roland McKee, Kenny McKee, Genie McKee, Bobby McKee and Sonny McKee.
A graveside service was conducted on Saturday, Nov. 6, at Shenandoah Memorial Park with Pastor Kitty Hahn-Capanella officiating.

Gerald Monroe Ebert
STRASBURG - Gerald Monroe Ebert, 86, died on Wednesday, Nov. 3, 2010, at his residence.
He was born on Sept. 12, 1924, in Neb., and was a son of the late Otto Albert and Leva E. Ebert.
Mr. Ebert was a member of the St. John Bosco Roman Catholic Church in Woodstock. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy. He retired from the Government where he worked as a Steam Engineer. He was a member of the Shenandoah American Legion Post #77 of Strasburg.
He is survived by his wife, Dorothy Ann Stillman Ebert of Toms Brook; a son, David Ebert of Toms Brook; two granddaughters; and three great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two sons, Mark Ebert, and Bruce Ebert.
All services will be conducted privately.
Melvin Woodrow Greenwalt
MOUNT JACKSON - Melvin Woodrow Greenwalt, 77, died on Saturday, Nov. 6, 2010, at his home.
He was born on Oct. 24, 1933, in Berryville, and was a son of the late Charles Lester and Virginia Greenwalt Jr.
Mr. Greenwalt was an automobile mechanic and an air conditioning and transmission specialist working for Swartz's Cadillac in Baltimore Md.
He is survived by his wife, Patricia Alice Lowery Greenwalt; two sons, George and Robert; a daughter, Virginia; sisters Thelma and Louise; one grandson; two granddaughters; one great grandson; and one great granddaughter. He was preceded in death by two sons, Charles and William; a daughter, Patricia; and a sister, Ethel.
A funeral service was conducted on Wednesday, Nov. 10, at Dellinger Funeral Home in Woodstock by Pastor Phil Speicher officiating. Burial was in Valley Pike Church of the Brethren cemetery.

Helen Irene Hamann
DAYTON, MD. - Helen Irene Hamann, 90, formerly of New Market, died on Thursday, Nov. 4, 2010, at Maryland General Hospital, Baltimore, Md.
Mrs. Hamann was born on July 27, 1920, in Pa., and was a daughter of the late Leslie and Mary Wheeler Taylor.
She is survived by four children, Walter E. Hamann, Jr., Helen Lacy, Rowenna Mercurio, and Colleen Hawkins; two sisters, Evelyn Talmadge, and Edith Wilkins; and grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter E. Hamann, who died on Oct. 28, 1995.
A private burial was in Emmanuel Lutheran cemetery, New Market.
Ruth Senseney Hawkins
STRASBURG - Ruth Senseney Hawkins, 72, died on Friday, Nov. 5, 2010.
She was born on Oct. 17, 1938, in Winchester, and was a daughter of the late Fred Thomas and Janet Louise Jenkins Senseney.
Mrs. Hawkins was a homemaker, and a member of Shiloh United Methodist Church.
She is survived by two daughters, Linda Hawkins Neff of Strasburg, and Michelle Hawkins Nelson of Woodstock; a son, Steve A. Hawkins of Stephens City; two sisters, Joyce A. Price, and Deborah S. Clem, both of Strasburg; a brother, Keith R. Senseney of Colo.; and six grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Allan Eugene Hawkins.
Private services were held in Panorama Memorial Gardens.

Fred Austin Lawhorn
FREDERICKSBURG - Fred Austin Lawhorn, 74, died on Sunday, Oct. 24, 2010, at his home in Bryce Mountain, Basye.
He was born on June 18, 1936, in Washington, DC, and was a son of the late Willis Herman and Ethel Bryant Lawhorn. Mr. Lawhorn was a veteran of the United States Navy serving on the USS Rockville. He was Vice President of Mid-Atlantic Interiors Company.
He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Lorraine H. Lawhorn; two sons, Keith of Fairfax, and Kenneth of Fairfax Station; a daughter, Denise Lawhorn of Fredericksburg; four brothers, William Lawhorn of Asheboro, N.C., James Lawhorn of Bluff City, Tenn., Roger Lawhorn of Kenisaw, Ga., and Larry Lawhorn of Manassas; and seven grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a sister, Anna Mae Helsley; and a brother, Charles Lee Lawhorn.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, Nov.12, at 11 a.m., at the St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, Triangle, by Father William Hines. Burial will be in Quantico National cemetery.

Edward Lee Ford
TIMBERVILLE - Edward Lee Ford, 85, died on Wednesday, Nov. 10, 2010, at Rockingham Memorial Hospital.
He was born on Sept. 4, 1925, in Rockingham County, and was a son of the late William Ford and Rhoda Runion Ford Gochenour.
Mr. Ford was a driver for Harrisonburg Auto Auction. He was a U.S. Army Air Corp veteran. He was a member of Cedar Grove Church of the Brethren in New Market, and the N.R.A.
On April 8, 1950, he married
Eva “Polly” Elizabeth Barb, who preceded him in death on April 25, 2000.
He is survived by a son, Billy Ford of New Market; four daughters, Rhoda “Libbie” Crider of Harrisonburg, Mary Day of New Market, Bobbie Ann Davis of Stanley, Penny Lambert of Franklin, W.Va.; eight grandchildren; and 6 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his stepfather, Benjamin Gochenour; his brother, Albert Ford; and a great granddaughter.
A funeral service was conducted on Sunday, Nov. 14, at the Cedar Grove Church of the Brethren in New Market, by the Rev. Otis Frye. Burial was in the church cemetery.

AMISSVILLE - Sharon Lee Henry, 49, died on Friday, Nov. 12, 2010, at her home.
She was born on Aug. 27, 1961, in Woodstock, and was a daughter of the late Joseph and Bessie Martin.
Mrs. Henry had worked as a secretary.
She is survived by her husband, Gary A. Henry; her children, Jeffrey Allen Henry of Reva, Gary Allen Henry, Jr. of Madison Heights, Kimberly Dawn Henry of Amissville, and Eugene Lagasse of Casanova; her siblings, Joseph Martin, Jr., Margaret Burrell of Strasburg, and Brenda Strother of Front Royal; and three grandchildren.
A funeral service was conducted on Tuesday, Nov. 16, at Hazel River Assembly of God, Rixeyville. Interment was in Prospect Hill cemetery, Front Royal.

ELKTON - June Rose Heyman, 66, died on Tuesday, Nov. 9, 2010.
She was born on Dec. 20, 1943, in Washington, DC, and was a daughter of June Cleare Ebert.
Mrs. Heyman was a real estate agent with Crum Realty of Winchester.
She is survived by a daughter, Sheila Johnson of Elkton; a sister, Judy Purvis of Charlottesville; and two grandchildren.
