Otis Willard Dillard, 62, of Austinville, Va., died Saturday, June 7, 2003, at his residence.
Funeral services will be held Monday, June 9, at 1 p.m. at the Reese Funeral Home Chapel in Austinville, Va., with the Rev. Tommy Barnes officiating. Interment will be in the Independence cemetery, Fancy Gap, Va.
He was born in Fannin County, Ga. He was president of Poplar Camp Truck & Wrecker Inc.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Sandra Kay Dillard; and his parents, J. Bruce and Vennie Ross Dillard.
Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, Bruce A. and Tina R. Dillard of Austinville, Va.; two daughters and son-in-law, Vicki and Zonnie Hill of Fancy Gap, Va., and Teresa Dillard of Tulsa, Okla.; four grandchildren, Zackary W. Hill, Brandon Seth Dillard, Johnathan Andrew Dillard and Christy Lyn Hill; and one brother, Everette P. Dillard of Charlotte, N.C.

William R. "Bill" Epperson
William R. "Bill" Epperson, 73, of Glennville, Ga., and formerly of Smyth County, Va., died Saturday, June 7, 2003 at Eisenhower Medical Center in Augusta, Ga.
Funeral services will be held Monday, June 9, at 1 p.m., at Ebenezer Freewill Baptist Church. The body will be taken to the church one hour before the service. Burial with military honors will be in Ebenezer Freewill Baptist Church cemetery.
He had lived in Glennville, Ga., for the last nine years. He was a member of Ebenezer Freewill Baptist Church and was a retired Master Sgt. in the U.S. Air Force. He was a life member of the V.F.W. and a Mason in the Chilhowie Lodge in Virginia.
He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Ruth Hart Epperson of Glennville, Ga.; two daughters and son-in-law, Vickie Darlene Rouse of Chilhowie, Va. and Penny Gail and Jimmie Benfield of Conyers, Ga.; a son and daughter-in-law, William Donald and Teresa Epperson of Glennville, Ga.; a brother, Harold Porter Epperson of Marion, Va.; four grandchildren, Sunshine Montgomery of Wytheville, Va., Scotty Epperson of Glennville, Ga., Melissa Krauss of Brunswick, Ga., and Summer Eggers of Chilhowie, Va.

Gwyndolyn Rosenbaum Williams Grubb, 69, of Speedwell, Va., died Friday, June 6, 2003.
Funeral services will be held Monday, June 9, at 2 p.m. at the Speedwell United Methodist Church. Interment will be in the church cemetery. The body will be taken to the church one hour before service time.
She was a member of the Speedwell United Methodist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, Robert Olen Williams and Homer Grubb; her parents, Grover and Josephine Hoback Rosenbaum; and a brother, Alfred Rosenbaum.
Survivors include three sons and daughters-in-law, Dennis and Eleanor Williams of Rural Retreat, Va., Frank Williams of Speedwell, Va., and Gerald and Betty Williams of Rural Retreat, Va.; a half brother, A.B. Hoback of Salem, Va.; and five grandchildren.

Della Hilton Harmon, 84, of Rural Retreat, Va., died Monday, June 9, 2003, in the Smyth County Community Hospital, Marion, Va.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, June 11, at 11 a.m. at the Lindsey Funeral Home Chapel in Rural Retreat, Va., with the Rev. Michael Hoyle and the Rev. Jim Richardson officiating. Interment will be in the Mountain View cemetery in Rural Retreat, Va.
She was born in Wythe County, Va. She was a member of the Sharon Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Sherman Bays Harmon; her parents, Sam and Anna Loretta Kincer Hilton; one son, Dr. Jerry B. Harmon; one sister, Julia Thompson; and three brothers, Ralph Hilton, Glen Reed Hilton and Calvin Hilton.
Survivors include one daughter and son-in-law, Mary Ann and George Williams of Bluefield, W.Va.; one grandson and his spouse, Jason and Katie Williams of Atkins, Va.; one brother, Garnett S. "Bill" Hilton of Rural Retreat, Va.; and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends Tuesday, June 10, from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Lindsey Funeral Home or at the residence at any time.

Margaret Ruth Stafford Kidd, 87, died Saturday, June 7, 2003, in Asbury Place at Wytheville, Va.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, June 10, at 11 a.m. at Memorial Baptist Church in Bluefield, Va., with the Rev. Hugh Cole and the Rev. Lacy Brooks officiating. Interment will be in the Monte-Vista Park cemetery on the Bluefield-Princeton Road, W.Va.
She was born in Bluefield, W.Va., on Feb. 11, 1916. She spent her younger years in Bluefield, W.Va., where she graduated from Beaver High School and then Bluefield College. She worked for the Welch Daily News and the Bluefield Daily Telegraph. She made her home in Welch, W.Va., where she married
Giles Newman Kidd in 1940. She spent her married
life raising a family in Welch, W.Va., Bluefield, Va., and Richlands, Va. She was a charter member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Bluefield, W.Va., a charter member of Gethsemane Baptist Church in Richlands, Va., and a member of Memorial Baptist Church in Bluefield, Va. She had lived the past nine years at Asbury Place at Wytheville, Va.
She was preceded in death in 1970 by her husband of 30 years, Giles Newman Kidd; her parents, Hoge Smith Stafford and Maggie Criner Stafford; two brothers, Ralph Stafford and Carlisle Stafford; and two sisters, Dorothy Clarke and Thelma Dunn.
Survivors include five sons and daughters-in-law, Donald Eugene and Diana Kidd of Harrisonburg, Va., William Stafford and Sue Kidd of Wytheville, Va., Albert Lee and Vonda Kidd of St. Paul, Va., Kenneth Alan Kidd of New York, N.Y., and John Douglas Kidd of Harrisonburg, Va.; a friend, Susan Kidd of Harrisonburg, Va.; five grandchildren, Donald Kidd Jr., Dawn Keim, Katie Kidd, Laura Powell, and Leah McCall; a great-grandchild, Kate Keim; and nieces and nephews, Dorothy Dunn, Anna Margaret Beavers, Carlisle "Sonny" Stafford, Joe Dunn and Connie Umberger.

William Meredith Wood
William Meredith Wood, 96, of Wytheville, Va., formerly of Island Heights, N.J., died Tuesday, June 3, 2003, at Asbury Place at Wytheville, Va.
A celebration of his life will be held Sunday, June 29, at 1 p.m. at the First United Methodist Church, Island Heights, N.J. Interment will be held later in the family plot at Laurel Hill cemetery, Philadelphia, Pa.
A graduate of the Wharton School of Business, University of Pennsylvania in 1927, he was a member of the Beta Theta Pi Fraternity. He played varsity soccer all four years at Penn and on the alumni team into his 50s. A champion sailor, he began racing on Toms River and Barnegat Bay in 1916 and last sailed in 1994. He worked in New York with the Insurance Company of North America, then The Atlantic Mutual Insurance Co., Philadelphia, and later with Walter F. Smith & Co. in Trenton, N.J. After being retired several years, during which time he served on the Borough Council of Island Heights, N.J., he joined the Broome & Hourigan Insurance Agency in Toms River, N.J., and retired again in 1987. He was a lifelong Episcopalian and member of the Island Heights Yacht Club, serving as commodore in 1958. During his lifetime, he was a member of the Boy Scouts of America, Rotary International, Barnegat Bay Yacht Racing Association, Ensign Class Association, Toms River Seaport Society, Ocean County Artists Guild, Island Heights Cultural & Heritage Association and the Wytheville Golf Club.
He is survived by his wife, Margaret Louise Keyser Wood of Asbury Place at Wytheville, Va.; two sons and daughter-in-law, William M. Jr. and Patricia Wood of Wilmington, N.C., and the Rev. Howard Wood of Hulmeville, Pa.; a daughter, Leigh F.W. Murphey of Island Heights, N.J.; 10 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

He is survived by his parents, Kristie Leigh Frazier of Rural Retreat, Va., and Charles Wayne Peoples Jr. of Wytheville, Va.; maternal grandparents, William "Frankie" and Patricia Frazier of Rural Retreat, Va.; parental grandparents, Debbie McKinney of Wytheville, Va., and Charles Peoples of Pulaski, Va.; godmother, Missy Atwell of Rural Retreat, Va.; and three cousins.

Edwin Henry Jacobs, 84, of Austinville, Va., formerly of Mt. Lebanon, Pa., died Sunday, Jan. 26, 2003, at his residence.
Graveside memorial service will be held Saturday, June 7, at 11 a.m., at the Mt. Lebanon cemetery, Mt. Lebanon, Pa., with the Rev. David Watson officiating.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Oscar Clair and Margaret Shaffer Jacobs.
Survivors include his wife, Ruth Firmin Jacobs of the home; a son, Scott Douglas Jacobs of Orlando, Fla.; a daughter and son-in-law, Linda Jacobs and Michael Brelsford of Hendersonville, Tenn.; two grandchildren, Claire Brelsford and Scott Brelsford of Hendersonville, Tenn.; and two nieces and nephews.
