Tobie C. Blankenship
The funeral for Tobie C. Blankenship, 89, formerly of Martinsville, who died Jan. 19, 2005, at the Kroontje Center of Warm Hearth Village, Blacksburg, will be held at noon Saturday at McKee-Stone Funeral Services chapel. Burial will be in Roselawn Burial Park.
The family will receive friends from 7-8:30 p.m. today at the funeral home.
He was born in Callaway on Jan. 27, 1915, to Harry Blankenship and Dealie Virginia Whitlow Blankenship. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Edie Haskins Blankenship, in 1991; a son, Tobie W. Blankenship Sr.; and several brothers and sisters.
He served with the cavalry in the Army, and he retired from American Furniture Co. after 40 years of service.
Surviving are a grandson; a daughter, Shirley Ewing; a sister, Violet Virginia Walker; two granddaughters; a great-granddaughter; and his extended family at the Kroontje Center.
Henry L. Hailey
The funeral for Henry Lee Hailey, 78, of Ridgeway, who died Jan. 16, 2005, was held Thursday at Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church in Ridgeway. Dr. J. Roland Cohen Sr. officiated. Burial was in the Hailey family cemetery in Ridgeway.
Pallbearers were Tony Hailey, Tyrone Scales, Greg Barton, Byron Turner, Ivon
Carter and Allen Shelton.

Jeannie B. Hubbard
The funeral for Jeannie Broome Hubbard, 64, of Penny Lane, Spencer, who died Jan. 17, 2005, was held Thursday at Norris Funeral Services chapel with the Rev. Donald Forrester and James Jordan officiating. Burial was in Friendly Christian Church cemetery.
Pallbearers were Benjamin Nixon (Hubbard), Dallas W. Hubbard, Taylor P. Lenz, Butch Dillinger, Junior Cassady, Bucky Taylor, Vicky Felts, Doug Lawrence, Chase A. Lenz, Bethany Jade Hubbard and Madison G. Lenz.
Dorothy W. Wallace
Dorothy Lee Wimbush Wallace, 67, of Memphis, Tenn., and formerly of Bassett, died Thursday, Jan. 20, 2005, at the Methodist University Hospital in Memphis.

Etheleen Waller, 73, of Bassett, died Thursday, Jan. 20, 2005, at Memorial Hospital in Martinsville.

Charlie C. Wright Sr.
Charlie Cecil Wright Sr., 69, of the Blue Ridge Rehab Center, Martinsville, and formerly of Bassett, died Thursday, Jan. 20, 2005, at Memorial Hospital in Martinsville.
He was born in Patrick County on Feb. 28, 1935, to Josiah Fitzhugh Wright and Minnie Whalen Wright.
He had worked as a truck driver for the former Roy Stone Transfer Co., and as a self-employed mechanic. He was of the Baptist faith.
Surviving are two daughters, Debra Haskins of Martinsville and Renae Wright of Glade Hill; three sons, Charlie C. Wright Jr. of Leatherwood, Terry Wright of Henry and Michael Wright of Spencer; two sisters, Louise Ruddle of Bassett and Nancy Talbot of Greensboro, N.C.; three brothers, Kermit "Elwood" Wright and H.J. "John" Wright, both of Bassett, and James "Jim" Wright of Ridgeway; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Wright/Turner cemetery in Patrick County with the Rev. Mike Montgomery officiating.
The family will receive friends from 6:30-8:30 p.m. today at the Collins Funeral Services chapel.
Daniel G. Aiken
The funeral for Daniel
Green Aiken, 77, of 706 Second St., Martinsville, who died Jan. 21, 2005, was held Thursday at Hairston Funeral Home chapel with Bishop Richard Adams officiating. Burial was in Carver Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers were William Henry Hairston, Gary Burton, Lewis Martin, Clyde McCoy and Alvin Jamison.
Eldridge L. Basham
Eldridge Lee Basham, 68, of 300 Blue Ridge St., Martinsville, died Wednesday, Jan. 26, 2005, at Memorial Hospital in Martinsville.
He was born in Roanoke County on Feb. 15, 1936, to Irvin Basham and Dessie Carroll Basham. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, William Basham, Jimmy Basham and Harold Basham.
He retired from Henry County Public Schools after several years of service and was of the Baptist faith.
Surviving are a sister, Thelma Lucado of Ridgeway; three brothers, Elwood Basham and Bobby Basham, both of Martinsville, and the Rev. Carl Basham of Salem; two nieces; and two great-nephews.
A memorial service will be held at 7 p.m. today at Community Funeral Services chapel with Charles R. Tomlinson officiating.
Jonathan W. Bowling

Williams Bowling, 23, of Stuart, was killed Wednesday, Jan. 26, 2005, while serving with the Marine reserves in Iraq.
He was the son of Darrell Bowling and his wife, Rita Bowling, and Robin Bowling Feron and her husband, Greg Feron, all of Stuart.

James T. Burnette
The Rev. James Tyler Burnette, 91, of 11644 McCorkle Ave., Chesapeake, W.Va., died Tuesday, Jan. 25, 2005, at his home.
He was born in Henry County on May 21, 1913, to John Burnette Sr. and Mary Calloway Burnette.
He was a former pastor of both Mount Zion Baptist Church in Cardondale, W.Va., and Ebenezer Baptist Church.
Surviving are his wife, Jessie Mae Burnette of the home; and several nieces and nephews in Martinsville and Henry County.
The funeral will be held at 1 p.m. Sunday at Mount Zion Baptist Church. Burial will be in Kanawha Valley Memorial Gardens in Glasgow, W.Va.

Beatrice E. Gregory
Beatrice Eanes Gregory, 90, of 3155 Figsboro Road, Martinsville, died Wednesday, Jan. 26, 2005, at Memorial Hospital in Martinsville.
She was born in Henry County on Dec. 10, 1914, to Alonzo Buck Eanes and Blanche Stokes Eanes. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Robert R. Gregory Sr.; five brothers, Aubrey Eanes, Lewis Eanes, John Eanes, Carlton Eanes and Curtis Eanes; and a step-grandchild.
She was a member of the Collinsville Baptist Church and a past member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Figsboro Ruritan Club.
Surviving are her husband, Frank S. Gregory of the home; three daughters, Jean G.
Jones of Figsboro, Ann Gregory of the home and Lois G. Hall of Snow Creek; a son, Bobby F. Gregory of Figsboro; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; six step-great-grandchildren; and one step-great-great-grandchild.
The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Norris Funeral Services chapel with the Revs. Tracy Freeman, Randy Winn and Kendall
Smith officiating. Burial will be in Roselawn Burial Park.
